Josh Duggar’s political allies have started throwing him under the bus now

It’s worth remembering and noting WHY Josh Duggar’s utter downfall has been so gleeful and heartwarming for many marriage-equality advocates and allies: because Josh Duggar really is a spectacular hypocrite with a long history of LGBT-bashing and anti-equality advocacy.

People Magazine notes that in Josh’s statement after In Touch Weekly revealed all about the child molestation, he claimed that all of his sins were in the past. As we now know, they were not. We now know that for YEARS while Josh Duggar was executive director of the Family Research Council, he was also addicted to p0rn and paying to hook up with strange on Ashley Madison. Speaking of the FRC, FRC president Tony Perkins made a statement about the latest Josh Duggar mess. Remember, Duggar resigned from his position back in May, when the child molestation stuff came out.

Following Duggar’s Thursday confession, Tony Perkins issued a statement to The Christian Post saying the organization is “hurt” by Duggar’s actions.

“Last night we learned from online reports about allegations concerning Josh Duggar and then read his confession today. We are grieved by Josh’s conduct and the devastating impact of his pornography addiction and marital unfaithfulness,” Perkins wrote. “Our hearts hurt for his family, and all those affected by Josh’s actions.”

Perkins continued by stating that Duggar and everyone else who advocates for traditional family morals should be held to a “higher standard.”

“His deceitful behavior harms his family, his friends, his former coworkers, and the cause he has publicly espoused,” Perkins asserted. “Those of us who advocate for family values in the public square are held to a higher standard, and Josh’s failures serve as a painful reminder of the destructive effects of not living with integrity. We are praying for the family.”

In the wake of the ongoing horror show that is the Duggar family, many sites have been offering more in-depth glimpses of just what the Duggars are all about, their belief systems and what amounts to their cult’s teachings. The Duggars are home-schooled and extremely sheltered about the outside world, especially the women/girls. They’re also very, very, VERY far-right politically, especially about social issues like reproductive choice, LGBTQ issues and, you know, women wearing pants. If you’ve been paying attention to the Duggars even casually before this Josh Duggar story exploded last week, you were probably familiar with the broad strokes of what this cult is all about. But it’s worth discussing some of the stories that have come out in the wake of the scandal.

Jessa Duggar’s father-in-law Michael Seewald is a nutburger too. Michael Seewald penned a lengthy blog post about his daughter-in-law’s brother and the larger scandal – you can read it here. I’m not going to post anything from it because the guy thinks everything is the media’s fault and his arguments fall flat. He also gets some jabs in there about how Josh was raised well and we are all born sinful, and thank God Josh didn’t get his sex education from Planned Parenthood. Seriously. I will give Seewald credit for one thing: he acknowledged the victims of Josh’s crimes and how terrible is must have been for them, which is more than Josh did.

Josh Duggar once made an on-camera incest “joke.” The video resurfaced over the weekend and it’s pretty gross given what we know now.

The police report has been destroyed. The documents pertaining to the 2006 investigation into Josh Duggar’s criminal acts on little girls were destroyed over the weekend, probably. In Touch Weekly filed a FOIA request for the police report, which is how this whole scandal blew up last week. Well… alright. I guess the investigation wasn’t ongoing then.

Gawker did a lengthy exposé on Advanced Training Institute. Go here to read. The Duggars are closely connected to the Advanced Training Institute, which is “a Bible-based homeschooling program run by alleged cult figurehead Bill Gothard.” Gothard also has his own sex scandal, just FYI. The Duggars follow Gothard’s home-schooling program… religiously. The program includes advice for parents on how to deal with a situation involving an older child sexually abusing his younger siblings. That advice mainly boils down to blaming the victims for dressing provocatively and behaving immodestly. Like, it’s a six-year-old’s fault for getting molested because she had evil friends, she was wearing the wrong clothes, etc.

Quiverfull mom compares Josh’s actions to “playing doctor.” Go here to read this total nonsense. I used to play doctor with a neighbor boy. We were the same age (5 years old) and we would practice kissing in my closet. That is completely and utterly different than a 14 year old groping and molesting his 7-year-old sister. And then doing it again to three other sisters and one other little girl. That we know about.

People: Kylie Jenner’s family is starting to rethink the Tyga relationship

I pay close attention to everything People has to say about 17-year-old Kylie Jenner’s relationship with 25-year-old rapper Tyga. People often acts as a direct PR mouthpiece. In this case, the magazine echoes the up-to-date thoughts of the Kardashian family on Tyga. And someone must be angry with Tyga. A month ago, People raved over the “adorable” romance. Since then, Tyga may have proven his loyalty by getting a Kylie tattoo. He’s also gone public with the romance, insisting that there’s nothing “morally wrong“ with the relationship. And his grandma worked overtime to chat up the whip-smart nature of the Kardashian family.

So what happened? According to People, the Kardashians have suddenly soured on Tyga. He’s been virtually part of the family for years, but they’re no longer interested in seeing him date Kylie. Hilariously, Kris Jenner is said to be worried about how Tyga is a bad influence on her youngest daughter:

According to a Kylie pal, her family doesn’t think she’s “out of control,” but “a few are worried” about her boyfriend Tyga’s influence on her.

“A lot of Tyga’s friends are enablers,” the friend says. “That makes her mom the most nervous. She doesn’t want Kylie getting off track.”

The 25-year-old rapper has been romantically linked to Kylie since September, and the two have kept their relationship “under wraps as much as possible for obvious reasons,” the friend says. “Her parents know she is going to date who she wants, but they are worried he will have a negative impact on her decision-making.”

In the last year, Kylie’s appearance has changed dramatically, and she is often criticized for looking much older than her age. On Sunday’s episode of KUWTK, she finally copped to cosmetically enhancing her lips.

“She’s become a perfectionist because she feels like she needs to be just as sexy as her other siblings, specifically Kendall and Khloé,” the pal says. “She doesn’t feel inadequate next to them, but she’s willing to do whatever she can to herself to make her feel like she’s looked at by the public in the same way.”

Kylie, who plans to move out into her own Calabasas mansion “the second” she turns 18, “is obsessed with the attention and knows that acting a little scandalous here and there will keep her in the spotlight,” the friend says.

Did you hear that? Kris “doesn’t want Kylie getting off track.” I called Kris’ sudden change of heart “hilarious” because Kris Jenner only thinks about Kris Jenner’s bottom line. Somehow, she has deemed Tyga’s association with the family to be unprofitable. Either that, or Tyga has done something terrible that we don’t know about yet. I don’t buy that Kris and the family have suddenly woken up to reality. Ugh, this family.

Meanwhile, Blac Chyna has decided that Tyga is a bad influence on their 2-year-old son, King Cairo. TMZ says Chyna is planning to file for full custody of King. She believes that Tyga, now confirmed to be dating a minor, “shows bad judgment that translates into his parenting skills.” She also believes Kylie isn’t mature enough to be around King, which is beside the point. Tyga’s decision to date a minor reflects upon his character, and that will matter to a court. This could get messy, y’all
