On being the hot girls in DNCE’s music video:

“I didn’t think the video would have the impact it did. I just thought it was going to be cute. But the comments have been so positive. These girls are like, ‘OMG, thanks for putting “real women” in a music video.’ I don’t believe in that term, but, you know, bravo to DNCE for stepping out of the box and really taking it there by having a girl who typically isn’t represented.”

On her body:

“You know what’s so funny? I think women think I’m inspirational because I’m unapologetic. I have cellulite. I have back fat. I’ve got a thick stomach. But I work my body like I don’t because I don’t know any other body. I don’t know how to feel thin. I just know how to feel like Ashley.”

On how muscly guys love bigger girls:

“Those were muscle guys, and those are the types of guys you don’t think like curvy women, but they love them. Girls my size are like, ‘Oh, I could never get a guy like that.’ Actually, you could, girlfriend! I’m living proof that you can have whatever you want in spite of what people say is a ‘flaw.’ Whether it’s a race thing or not being smart enough or pretty enough—there are so many things that are hanging over women’s heads, but you have to fight through it.”

On the fact that there’s no such thing as the Perfect Body:

“I’ve been a size 12, and I thought I was so hot. But now I’m a 14 to 16, and I honestly couldn’t be happier—I’m just content. Of course, I look at my body and think ‘Oh, I want to tighten up my arms a bit, or I wish my ass was lifted higher.’ But nobody has the perfect body. There’s no such thing.”

Johnny Depp Flees LA, Gets Support From Daughter & Disney

Like the swaggering pirate he so memorably portrayed, Johnny Depp might be wondering where the rum is these days.

The answer? In the Caribbean, of course.

According to several sources, Depp has been riding out his divorce from Amber Heard at his private island in the Bahamas.

“He has no plans to return to L.A.,” a source close to Depp tells People magazine.

“He misses nothing about L.A. but his kids, and they are visiting him in the Bahamas.”

We suppose there are worse places to be self-exiled.

The magazine states that Depp is currently being visited by his 17-year-old daughter, Lily-Rose.

His son 14-year-old son, Jack, is expected to arrive with his mother, Vanessa Paradis, sometime this week.

“Having his kids around is always great for him. He has really missed his kids,” the insider adds.

“He likes being surrounded by people and everyone is trying to cheer him up.”

As you’ve likely heard, Depp has been accused of assault by his estranged wife.

Heard has been granted a temporary restraining order, and she and Depp are reportedly on the verge of reaching a divorce settlement.

Heard’s allegations have called into question the future of Depp’s career, but it seems the actor needn’t worry about his most lucrative properties.

Disney – who, as the studio behind the Pirates of the Caribbean and the live-action Alice in Wonderland franchises is as responsible for Depp’s career renaissance as anyone – basically confirmed this week that it has no plans to cut ties with the actor, despite his recent legal troubles.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Disney CEO Bob Iger stated that he is “not worried” about Depp’s “personal problems.”

Asked if he believes the current controversy will pass, Iger responded:

“I don’t know whether it passes or not. We have Jack Sparrow.”

Asked if he thinks people will separate the actor from his most famous character, Iger responded, “Right.”

So it sounds like Depp can do no wrong in the eyes of those in his inner circle.

The question now is – will the movie-going public be as forgiving?

Julia Roberts laughed at ‘image-obsessed’ Amal Clooney: ‘She’s so absurd’

As previewed yesterday, this week’s tabloids are full of interesting/funny/untrue speculation about George and Amal Clooney’s marriage, based solely on their appearance at the Cannes Film Festival last week. For the record (since we’re on the record!), I kind of think George and Amal are fine. Their first year of marriage was a whirlwind of craziness, but they seem to have “settled down” quite a bit in 2016. Still, I always enjoy some good Amal gossip. In Touch Weekly had the longer story full of deliciously bitchy details. Some highlights:

Amal’s posing. An insider says: “Cannes has strict rules about a non-movie member posing for obligatory cast photos – it’s a big deal and very rare for a spouse to join. But Amal, with George’s blessing of course, barged right in. Amal wore a look-at-me bright yellow gown amid the cast’s sea of black, she had trouble adjusting her long train in the wind so she also held up the entire process, which meant all eyes were on her.”

Julia was pissed. “Julia was stunned that Amal tried to steal her show and her thunder, and that George actually let her.” So in retaliation, Julia flirted with George, and the source says, “Amal felt like Julia was flirting with George and she was seething!”

Amal hates Julia. Amal hated how friendly George and Julia were on the set of Money Monster and “Amal can’t stand how Julia monopolizes her husband’s time.” After the Cannes red carpet, Amal pulled George aside and told him that Julia was being “disrespectful.” Julia “was so mad that she had a mini-meltdown about it and was overheard complaining about Amal’s rude move and George should have known better.”

Julia hates Amal too. After spending some time with Amal and George in Como, Italy last summer, “Julia left with a very bad taste in her mouth.” Julia would “mock image-obsessed Amal behind her back after seeing how Amal constantly had her hair and makeup touched up and wore glamorous gowns during a casual weekend.” A source says: “Julia laughed at her because she thinks she’s so absurd.”

While I think this whole thing is being overblown, I do believe that there’s some shade and gossip going on at the core. Like, Julia was pissed that Amal was being so showy and look-at-me. And Amal was pissed because Julia was goose-honking all over George. I also sort of believe that Amal is severely image-obsessed? That’s just my gut-level reaction to seeing her pap strolls and red carpet posing.

Meanwhile, Star Magazine claims that Amal and George looked like they were having serious problems at Cannes. A Cannes tipster reveals that after George and Amal walked the Cannes carpet together, they stopped pretending to be all lovey-dovey.

“Once inside, it was obvious to everyone there that George and Amal had been fighting all day. I don’t think either one of them wanted to be there.”

Arms crossed and scowl fixed, it was clear the human rights lawyer wasn’t happy with her husband. In fact, eyewitnesses say the two barely said a word to each other during dinner that night at Le Michelangelo in Antibes and cast a frosty chill over the afterparty at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.

“It looked like George truly regretted bringing Amal out. Just imagine what it must have been like when they got home!”

File this under “Elizabeth Olsen is Ice Cold.” Last year, Elizabeth Olsen and Boyd Holbrook were happily engaged. They were both up-and-coming actors with successful careers. Then, out of nowhere, their engagement was off. A few months later, the rumors about Olsen and Tom Hiddleston started heating up, and some of us believe that Tom and Elizabeth started seeing each other while they were filming I Saw the Light. Well, I’m not sure about the timeline a year ago, but Boyd covers the new issue of Man of the World and he says flat-out that Olsen dumped him “on the same day my best friend died.”

Josh Duggar’s political allies have started throwing him under the bus now

It’s worth remembering and noting WHY Josh Duggar’s utter downfall has been so gleeful and heartwarming for many marriage-equality advocates and allies: because Josh Duggar really is a spectacular hypocrite with a long history of LGBT-bashing and anti-equality advocacy.

People Magazine notes that in Josh’s statement after In Touch Weekly revealed all about the child molestation, he claimed that all of his sins were in the past. As we now know, they were not. We now know that for YEARS while Josh Duggar was executive director of the Family Research Council, he was also addicted to p0rn and paying to hook up with strange on Ashley Madison. Speaking of the FRC, FRC president Tony Perkins made a statement about the latest Josh Duggar mess. Remember, Duggar resigned from his position back in May, when the child molestation stuff came out.

Following Duggar’s Thursday confession, Tony Perkins issued a statement to The Christian Post saying the organization is “hurt” by Duggar’s actions.

“Last night we learned from online reports about allegations concerning Josh Duggar and then read his confession today. We are grieved by Josh’s conduct and the devastating impact of his pornography addiction and marital unfaithfulness,” Perkins wrote. “Our hearts hurt for his family, and all those affected by Josh’s actions.”

Perkins continued by stating that Duggar and everyone else who advocates for traditional family morals should be held to a “higher standard.”

“His deceitful behavior harms his family, his friends, his former coworkers, and the cause he has publicly espoused,” Perkins asserted. “Those of us who advocate for family values in the public square are held to a higher standard, and Josh’s failures serve as a painful reminder of the destructive effects of not living with integrity. We are praying for the family.”
