Taylor Swift vs Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: Selena Gomez Weighs In!

Everyone has something to say about it, especially Taylor Swift’s best friend. Selena Gomez posted a few tweets in response to Kim Kardashian’s decision to release audio between Swift and Kanye West regarding “Famous” lyrics. “There are more important things to talk about…” she tweeted. “Why can’t people use their voice for something that fucking matters?” “Truth is last thing we need right now is [sic] hate, in any form,” she added. “This industry is so disappointing yet the most influential smh” According to the Daily Mirror, a fan asked Gomez why she wasn’t using the hashtag, #blacklivesmatter. “oh lol so that means if I hashtag something I save lives?” she responded. “No -I could give two f***s about ‘sides’. You don’t know what I do.” The audio reveals West running controversial lyrics about Swift by the singer herself. “I mean it’s like a compliment,” West says over the phone. And I really appreciate you telling me about it, that’s really nice!” “I’m really glad you had the respect to call me that and tell me that as a friend, about the song.” After the audio was released, Swift released response via Instagram stating that West left out the lyric, “I made that bitch famous.” “Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that bitch’ in his song?” Swift asked. “It doesn’t exist because it never happened. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that bitch’ in front of the entire world. Swift wrapped up the statement by referencing the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, where West crashed Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video. “I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009.” View Slideshow: 14 of the Craziest Celebrity Twitter Feuds EVER

Matt Baier: I’m Not Evil! My Son is a Liar!

It’s been a particularly bad week for Matt Baier’s public image, which is surprising, as his reputation has been about on par with that of Chris Brown mixed with a leaking bag of garbage for as long as he’s been in the spotlight. Still, Amber Portwood’s fiance found a way to sink lower this week. You almost have to admire him, but then you remember that no one should ever admire him for any reason. It all started when Baier’s estranged son called him “the ultimate con artist” in a scathing interview with Radar Online. Chris Baier, 26, says that Amber and the average Teen Mom viewer are clueless as to the depths of his father’s shadiness, and to prove it, he offered up a seriously disturbing example. Chris says that he’s struggled with drug addiction throughout his adult life, and that his father co-opted his story in order to help him win over Amber Portwood (a recovering addict herself) and appear more sympathetic to MTV audiences: “He asked me to tell him all about my problems with drugs. When I saw him on MTV, he was talking about all of my drug problems that I told him about, and made believe they were his problems,” “The truth of the matter is, he’s an evil, evil man, and when he did evil things, he was stone cold sober.” Chris says. “All he does is use people and hurt them. He’s a horrible, nasty person, the ultimate con artist.” Harsh words to say the least.  Not surprisingly, Matt says his son’s story is utter nonsense.  “What actually happened is he was contacted by the press numerous times in the last six moths or so and offered money to say bad things about me,” Matt says. “It’s important to note my son has a bad drug addiction, and he was completely strung out when he started talking about six months ago. “He was in trouble with the law and in between places to live. When you’re offered an amount of money by anybody when you’re in that situation it’s really tough to turn down.” But as the saying goes, there are three sides to every story: Matt Baier’s version, and the versions of the two people who say he’s lying. The Ashley’s Reality Roundup spoke with the journalist who interviewed Chris Baier, and she claims that Matt’s explanation for his son’s comments makes zero sense: “Chris hasn’t used in years!” Radar Online’s Donna Thomas says of Matt’s allegations. “He wasn’t paid a dime, and wasn’t looking for money, he’s a really nice kid…He’s had some issues with drugs, but it’s the past, he has a good job, and a girlfriend and he’s on the right track, he doesn’t want Matt to destroy anyone else, that’s all!” So yes, yet again Matt comes off looking incredibly shady. The situation has left many wondering if Amber and Matt will still get married, and the answer is yes. Yes they will, because Amber has learned to turn a blind eye to her fiance’s true nature.

Rihanna’s street style: are you feeling her ’70s-style Dolce & Gabbana caftan?

Here are some street-style photos of Rihanna out and about in NYC on Sunday. She was apparently running some errands or doing some shopping. This is how Rihanna “runs errands.” She wears a bright Dolce & Gabbana caftan, Stella McCartney platform shoes and no Dior sunglasses! Incidentally, that sunglasses-story last Friday has made me review my previous opinions on cheap sunglasses. Maybe I will try an expensive pair of sunglasses one day, just to see what they’re like. As for Rihanna’s D&G caftan… it’s summery, it’s beachy, it’s glam and like most of what Rihanna wears, it probably only looks good on Rihanna and no one else. Don’t get me wrong, I long for the day when “caftans-as-outerwear” makes a triumphant return. People always roll their eyes at ‘70s style, but I love the ‘70s look of caftans and prints. What I hate here is Rihanna’s shoe choice. Those Stella McCartney shoes are just THE WORST. Speaking of shoes, Rihanna’s collaboration with Puma is still going strong. Puma released their third collection with Rihanna a few days ago and the sneakers sold out in just 35 minutes online. I’m telling you, Rihanna has the Midas touch when it comes to style/accessories and more designers should pursue her for collaborations. I’ve already convinced myself to start pricing caftans, because surely I’ll look the same as Rihanna when I wear a caftan, right? Photos courtesy of Fame/Flynet.

Chris Evans isn’t ruling out running for political office: ‘I would never say never’

Captain America fans be damned, I’ve never really been a huge Chris Evans stan. I don’t have a problem with him, it’s just that he sometimes (SOMETIMES) seems like a neurotic whiner. But he’s not like that in his interview with the new issue of Esquire Middle East. He comes across well and almost sort-of Captain America-like. Before now, I had no idea that his uncle is currently serving in the House of Representatives. His uncle is Rep. Mike Capuano. Do they call him “Cap” too?! Anyway, Chris talks about politics and more. Some highlights: Whether he would run for political office: “I would never say never. I’ve always thought it would be nice one day to think about some sort of political pursuit. I’m so proud of my uncle and of anyone who dedicates themselves to helping the progression of society in exacting change for the betterment of mankind. Ultimately, there’s very few things that I consider to be noble and challenging. I know that Washington is a tough place. I have my opinions and maybe later on in life I might try and actually get up on a soap box.” Directing his first movie, Before We Go: “I’d wanted to direct for a long time. It’s just hard to find someone who’s willing to let you direct. I have no training. I’ve never been to any sort of school, so it’s a gamble. It was a situation where we found a script that felt manageable. This was a simple story; it’s two people. It just felt very contained and, not to sound awful, but I aimed a little low, just because I wanted to get my feet wet. I think there’s no shame in that. I didn’t want to bite off more than I could chew the first time out.” What happened as a director: “There were a lot of things I thought I was prepared for that never became a problem, and things I didn’t think would be an issue that ended up being one. So it was very eye opening. But I loved the experience and I want to do it again. I’m trying to aim a little higher in terms of the story and the scope. I feel a little more comfortable behind the camera, and it’s now just about finding the right script. Because the really great scripts are snatched up by the really great directors. So it’s about digging and trying to find the diamond in the rough.” He’ll take more of a break from acting when he has kids: “I would never stop acting completely, because I do love it, but if I was to get married and have kids, I could see myself wanting to be less of a famous actor. The fame thing is the tricky part, especially when you have children, and there is a nice element to the investment in directing. Even the amount of time and passion required for pre- and post-production; you’re with a project intimately for a year. As an actor you’ve got a few months and then you completely forget about it. So I like that connection, and I like that you can be a little more in the shadows but still be part of a profession that you’re in love with.” On ambition: “My big ambition is to not have a big ambition. I know it’s kind of strange but mu goal in life is to practice trying to be present on a daily basis. I think, as people, our consciousness is spread out. We analyze the past, we worry about the future, and it’s all fueled by fear and pain and all these negative things. Even when its good it’s going to be not good in a minute. Then you’re chasing it again. It’s all rooted in time and I think my big ambition is to really practice the ability to quiet my brain a little and just learn how to enjoy the moment.” [From E! News] I didn’t see Before We Go, but I remember that the reviews weren’t bad or anything. He didn’t embarrass himself and he’ll probably be given another opportunity to direct, because Hollywood loves rewarding white guys. I’m just saying… if a black, Asian or Hispanic actor had made the jump to directing and made so little impact with their first film, would they be given another opportunity? As for what he says about possibly running for political office… I actually like that idea. He doesn’t carry around the kind of personal baggage that many “political” actors have – as in, I know less about Chris’s personal life than George Clooney, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, etc. And I think it’s cute that he’s already planning ahead for when he’s married and has kids. Charlize Theron in McQueen at the MTV Movie Awards: regal or boring?

Here are some photos of Charlize Theron and Jessica Chastain at this weekend’s MTV Movie Awards. Charlize was nominated for some stuff for Mad Max: Fury Road, but I suspect she came to the show mostly because she and Jessica are shilling for The Huntsman: Winter’s War. Charlize wore this Alexander McQueen dress which… it’s okay. Of all the designers doing sheer fabric with applique designs, I think the house of McQueen does it well. My complaint is that it looks like they were trying too many different styling tricks in one dress. From the front, I thought Charlize was doing a very daring high ponytail with a small fishtail braid, but that’s not what’s happening. She did an intricate mini-bun situation which… I sort of like? I like that she tried something new and that she didn’t get five pounds of weave, you know? That being said, it looks like her mini-buns are pulled too tight. As for Chastain… I think she looks lovely. I love that Jessica and Charlize both wore black and they’re giving me Dark Mistress Witch-Queen vibes, which works for their film. Jessica’s gown is Givenchy, and this is the first Givenchy dress I’ve liked in a while. My only complaint is that Jessica’s girls look like they’re suffocating. Photos courtesy of WENN.
