Foo Fighters inducting Rush into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame? That’s the word on the street!
It’s been confirmed that the Foo Fighters will induct legendary rockers Rush into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame next month!
According to NME, the Foo’s frontman Dave Grohl and drummer Taylor Hawkins will honor Rush’s singer Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson, and drummer Neil Peart at the event, which will be held on April 18th at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre. The show’s organizer, Joel Peresman, has hinted that the bands may even perform together!
Peresman recently told Rolling Stone: “Dave and Taylor were one of the first people we thought about to induct Rush. They said ‘yes’ in about two seconds. I’m hopeful [they will perform]. More than a few times in the past, people have got caught in the moment and decide to perform. That’s what happened last year with Green Day – they were just there to present an award to Guns N’ Roses, and after hanging around rehearsals, they decided to play. You have Dave around, Don Henley there – who knows what will happen? We have some very interesting people.”
It’s also been confirmed that the Eagles’ Don Henley will induct Randy Newman, and reportedly John Fogerty and Jackson Browne will perform with him. And as Spicy reported, Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell will be inducting Heart, while Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready and Alice In Chain’s Jerry Cantrell will be performing with them. Jennifer Hudson and Christina Aguilera are also set to perform in honor of the late Donna Summer.
You can catch the event on HBO, Saturday, May 18th at 9p.m. ET/PT!
