Miss New York Nina Davuluri was crowned Miss America 2013 this weekend in Atlantic City. Here’s what the 24 year-old, who is of Indian descent, had to say about her success:
“I’m so happy this organization has embraced diversity. I’m thankful there are children watching at home who can finally relate to a new Miss America.”
Nina’s win is a hot topic on Twitter these days and it seems that not everybody agrees with the fact that an American-Indian girl has won the competition – see this article for more info!
