The age difference is no big deal – we wouldn’t blink if the ages were reversed – except that Evan seems a lot younger. He seems like he’s still a frat bro in college. I’ve long suspected that Miranda is useful to Evan for that reason: she legitimizes him (somewhat) as an “adult,” as a player, as someone who should be taken seriously.
