Saturday Night Live won Outstanding Variety Sketch Series, which had only one other nominee, A Black Lady Sketch Show. A lot of people were hoping this was Robin Thede’s year, her show was nominated last year as well, but the Emmy went to SNL for the umpteenth time. I looked it up and SNL has 76 Emmys and 306 nominations, the most of any show. I know we needed SNL during this insane year but give an hilarious show a chance! Here’s that video queued up to Thede’s reaction. She was faux fuming and Issa had to comfort her!
Robin was in a sea foam green Jason Wu embroidered gown with a ribbon belt. I love the bottom half of this gown but the ruffles at the necklace are a little frou frou for me. Her hair and makeup look amazing.
Issa Rae glowed in a metallic net Aliette gown. She looks gorgeous but I wish this wasn’t see through.
Presenter Taraji P. Henson slayed in a gorgeous black and white Elie Saab sequin gown with a deep v-neck. The gown is sheer and has pockets!
