Andy Samberg has asked singer-songwriter Joanna Newsom to be his wife and she said yes!
The 34-year-old SNL funnyman and his gal have been together now for five years so he felt the timing was right. He reportedly was even into her before they actually met through mutual friends.
A friend said of the couple last year: “He liked her music and would go to her shows. He had the biggest crush on her.”
Newsom, 31, is also a fan of her man. The friend, who added that the couple has “great chemistry”, said this of Newsom: “She respects what he does with his songs,” referring to the hilarious ditties Samberg comes up with for SNL and for his comedy group Lonely Island.
“She’s so proud of everything that he has accomplished.”
UsWeekly has a photo of Joanna’s ring. It looks like a fairly classic diamond solitaire, pretty yet simple. A nice sized rock though.
