I really wanted to love The X Factor USA – honestly I did. I’m a big fan of the UK version and thought, you know, a US version would probably be okay… except not, because America tends to ruin absolutely everything they adapt from across the pond. It’s been an absolute shit show for the past three reasons, has launched absolutely zero stars and can’t seem to hold onto any of the judges, who all take the paycheck and then realise they got themselves into a hot ass mess.
In any case, someone at Fox finally said enough is enough and cut the cord on The X Factor. That’s right: it’s been cancelled! No more Simon Cowell‘s grumpy face (he’s headed back to the UK version), no more Demi Lovato… doing whatever. No more other rotating panelists, none of which were any good at all. It’s done. Finito. Can you hear the angels rejoice?
Here’s Simon’s statement:
“I’ve had a fantastic time over the last 12 years, both on The X Factor and American Idol.
“And apart from being lucky enough to find some amazing talent on the shows, I have always had an incredible welcome from the American public (most of the time!).
“Last year, for a number of reasons, I had to make a decision to return to the UK version of The X Factor in 2014.
“So for now, I’m back to the UK and I want to thank Fox for being an incredible partner and I also want to thank everybody who has supported my shows. America, I’ll see you soon!”
Well… okay. See ya later, alligator. Thank God this shit is over. But wait, there’s more! Here’s what FOX entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly had to say:
“To all of us at Fox, Simon is more than one of the most prolific TV personalities of our time – he’s part of our family.
“A consummate showman and partner, there’s no-one more passionate or creative than Simon, and we feel so fortunate to have enjoyed such a wonderful, collaborative relationship with him over the past 12 years.Unfortunately, there is no X Factor USA without Simon Cowell, but we understand and support his decision to focus on the international formats and on the next phase of his personal life. We wish him the very best, and it’s our sincere hope that we work together again soon.”
Right, fair enough. The end. But I do not believe it’s over because Simon is leaving. It’s over because it was shit. K, that’s it.

Celeb spotting: Kelly Rowland at Riviera 31 at the Sofitel
New X Factor judge Kelly Rowland stopped by Riviera 31 at the Sofitel Los Angeles on Tuesday, November 5th in Los Angeles to chat about her new gig. The former Destiny’s Child singer said she loved the show and joked that Simon Cowell can be quite the diva sometimes. Rowland also said there has also been talk about another Destiny’s Child album…one of these days! “We’ve all been busy doing our own thing. With me starting X Factor, Beyonce being super mom and super wife, and Michelle’s career blossoming,” she said.
Rowland looked chic at the X Factor Top 12 Party for Season 3 in Beverly Hills with contestants Lillie McCloud, Jeff Gutt and Rachel Potter.

Feisty Kelly Osbourne isn’t having any part of a reconciliation with Lady Gaga, even after Gaga sent her a birthday cake “peace offering.”
Yesterday was Kelly’s 29th birthday, and Lady Gaga made an appearance onThe X Factor UK, where Kelly’s mom, Sharon Osbourne is a judge. Gaga gave Sharon a birthday cake to give to Kelly Osbourne, but it was not received well by Kelly. She immediately took to Tweitter to vent.
Not to be ungrateful but why would you send me a birthday cake via my MOTHER in a country half the would away? #JustSendItToME #LoveNotWar
She posted a photo of the birthday cake and attached a nasty little hashtag along with it.

Soon after she posted, “I like desert, but i prefer the truth… it’s sweeter.” Gaga posted a message on twitter as well, not mentioning Kelly or the birthday cake, but instead addressing her fans who were hating on Kelly for her brash response.

Britney Spears isn’t known for rapier wit like Stephen Fry or for engaging in philosophical debates about science with Neil deGrasse Tyson, but apparently she doesn’t even know how to have a basic conversation. This is according to someone named Adrienne Bailon (ah, she was a singer in that long ago band, The Cheetah Girls.) On an episode of something called The Real, Ms. Bailon revealed Ms. Spears’ shortcomings (via Zimbio):
I worked with her on The X Factor and I’m not going to lie to you, guys… She can’t hold a conversation. They had someone who feeds her what she is supposed to say. Like, she can’t hold a conversation.
Yeah, no kidding. Maybe that’s why Simon Cowell got fed-up with her (though his passive-aggressiveness was still pretty lame.)
Zimbio also notes that Dave Grohl once described Britney Spears as “dead inside” with “nothing behind her eyes.”

Demi Lovato cancelled an appearance at a photoshoot for The X Factor late last week after it was revealed that her biological father had passed away. Apparently she’s had a pretty messed up relationship with him over the years (he abandoned the family and they were estranged for most of her life) but they may or may not have reconciled after she went to rehab.
Patrick Lovato had dealt with cancer and was desperate to have a relationship with Demi and her older sister Dallas since falling ill. It seems to have partially happened, at least with Dallas, who tweeted the following:

They say when you have multiple children that you should (and usually do) love them all equally, though in different ways. I imagine this unspoken rule is null and void, though when one of your kids puts out a sex tape that puts your entire family on the map and manages to pull in more money for you in a week than your other kids do in a year, combined. Such is the case with Kris Jenner and her brood – Khloe, Kim, Kourtney, Kendall, Kylie… and Rob. We like to forget about Rob whenever we can.
Khloe Kardashian appears on the cover of the new issue of Cosmopolitan, and her interview is… vaguely depressing. It’s probably meant to be enlightening, but it’s pretty obvious that momager Kris favours Kim over the other girls. You gotta treat your cash cow right, don’t you?
“I’d never manage my kids. We gang up on Mom and that has to be so hard. Now I’m getting older I feel sorry for her rather than resent her.
“[Once my mom told me] I was gaining weight, but she was talking to me as a manager, like I was ruining a brand deal. It’s hard to understand that and it’s more hurtful when it’s coming from my mom, but Kim is definitely her favorite.
“It doesn’t bother me. They’re so similar – they could be the same person.”
I know it seems like she doth protest too much (and seriously, who WOULDN’T care if your siblings were favoured over you?), but maybe since it’s Kris, Khloe is being honest here. After all, the most attention Kris has ever given her was when she was begging her to take a DNA test to find out whether or not she was actually a Kardashian or a by-product of her old ass affair. This whole family just needs to stop.
