GLEE star Cory Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room over the weekend. He was only 31.
Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on GLEE, was discovered deceased in his hotel room at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel early Saturday morning after missing his check out time. Authorities say that Monteith appeared to have been dead for sometime before the discovery.
Cory Monteith had battled substance abuse problems in his youth, starting at the age of 13. By 16 he had dropped out of school and at 19 his friends and family staged an intervention. Cory then worked on changing his life. Looking back, Cory said of his troubled youth: “I’m lucky on so many counts. I’m lucky to be alive.”
Monteith again entered rehab in April of this year for the treatment of alcohol abuse. No word on if drugs or alcohol have played a role in his tragic death. His autopsy is scheduled for this morning, July 15.
