It feels like just yesterday that I talked about People’s PR-friendly romance rollout for Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin. Yeah it was yesterday. They had a “super cute” date. I described JLaw’s new man as the king of elevator music. One of you clever types asked if that meant she was dating John Mayer. Very funny. And be careful what you wish for.
A new story from Hollywood Life says that the Douchebag Supreme has it bad for JLaw. That’s not surprising at all. Tons of guys have it bad for Jennifer. She’s an A-list talent who seems approachable and down-to-earth. John probably thinks he’s still got enough pull to land one of the hottest commodities in Hollywood. Does he have what it takes? John already tried to land JLaw once in 2012. She was nice to him, but hopefully she was just being polite. This new story made me laugh and then almost cry. I hope against hope that it’s not true. Did JLaw have dinner with John last week?
John has a history of dating Hollywood’s hottest ladies, and Jennifer’s his newest target! Apparently, John doesn’t care she’s dating Chris. The soulful singer is “determined to win her heart.”
Jennifer Lawrence, 24, and Chris Martin‘s romance is heating up, but John Mayer, 36, doesn’t care! “John has had a thing for Jennifer for quite some time now and he’s still trying to romance her despite her involvement with Chris,” 37, an insider tells HollywoodLife.com.
John once flirted with Jennifer at Medieval Times restaurant in L.A. on June 16, 2012! He’s always had a thing for her, despite charming other famous ladies like Katy Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson and Taylor Swift.
“John is determined to win Jennifer’s heart. They had a late dinner together at Cecconi’s in West Hollywood on Aug. 29,” our source adds.
So what about Chris, who’s been romancing the Hunger Games actress?
“Chris who? That’s how John feels. It’s not like she’s wearing a ring on her finger and John will continue to try and woo her until she does. He’s not in the least bit set back by the fact that Jennifer’s been out on multiple dates with Chris,” our source concludes.
Unfortunately for John, he may have some work cut out for himself.

Noooo. This can’t be true. It simply cannot! If there’s a choice between JLaw and Chris or JLaw and 7-Layer Douchebag … god. Why would a great catch like Jennifer Lawrence ever have dinner with a womanizing dude like John Mayer? This makes no sense at all. None of it makes sense. Not Chris, not John. I refuse to believe.
