Soon after the Duggar family imploded in an spectacular mess of child molestation, Ashley Madison accounts and affairs with p0rn stars, there were some random stories about how the Duggars were broke, or struggling for money somehow. They were apparently asking for donations and pleading with fans to buy their stuff, especially after TLC stopped airing 19 Kids & Counting. While I don’t doubt that it costs a lot to keep the S.S. Duggar afloat, I also believed that TLC paid the Duggars well enough, plus they have revenue streams from side-projects, likes books, speeches, etc. While Josh Duggar is persona non grata, the older kids still make some money, don’t they? Well, funny story. Jessa Duggar-Seewald is either so desperate for cash or desperate for attention that she’s giving out instructions on how “fans” can donate to her directly, with gift certificates and cash.
Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald have come under fire for encouraging fans to donate gift cards and money to the parents-to-be. In a post on the family’s blog — which has seemingly since been edited — the pregnant 22-year-old and her husband, 20, gave pretty specific instructions on how to send “donations” to the former 19 Kids and Counting stars, if they so desired.
According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, the since-deleted instructions read, “For readers who have asked about sending gift cards to the Seewalds, Jessa told us that her favorite stores are Target and Walmart.”
Additionally, they listed an address where fans could send cash directly, if they so desired.
Understandably, the request was met with some serious backlash in the comments section.
“Love the family, but I don’t think it’s right to give an address for gifts and gift cards,” one such fan wrote, per The Ashley’s Reality Roundup. “I may be wrong but TLC and their personal appearances [probably] pay them well…donate to a charity in their name.”
This comes shortly after Jessa’s older sister Jill came under fire and was accused of using fan donations — intended to fund her mission trip — to pay for a “family vacation.”

I would honestly love to know more about the finances of the Duggars. I would love to know if Jim-Bob and Michelle put money in trusts for all of their kids, considering their kids were “performers” on the TLC reality show. I would love to know if Jessa and Jill got extra money for their wedding specials. I would love to know if Jim-Bob withheld their “paychecks” if they didn’t do as he commanded. And yes, I would love to know how Jessa and Ben Seewald are supporting themselves. Jessa has no particular talent or skill set or education. She’s been angling for a reality show return for a few months now, and chica is REALLY thirsty. So, is she angling for a reality show and donations just because she wants attention, or because she and Ben are broke as hell? Or both?
PS… Late Thursday, TLC announced that they will be airing “two or more” specials just for Jessa and Jill’s journeys. One special will focus on Jessa’s pregnancy (and presumably the birth of her first child), and one special for Jill and Derick’s trip to Central America. I wonder how much Jill and Jessa are getting paid for these specials? I wonder if Jim-Bob gets a cut? I wonder if Jessa is doing separate negotiations with TLC for her own spinoff reality show? Chica really does not want to get a real job.
