No wonder Anna Wintour loves Kanye West – he got the memo about the dress code and he dressed accordingly. After last year’s Givenchy disaster, Kim Kardashian opted for a rich, silk Lanvin gown in a rather pretty shade of blue. Kanye squired his lady admirably, and all in all… this appearance was WAY better than last year’s. I’d even say that Kim and Kanye might have been one of the top five best-dressed couples.
Which isn’t to say that there isn’t room for improvement with Kim’s look. I don’t really think it’s the most flattering silhouette for her, especially when you’re looking at her from any angle other than head-on. After losing so much weight in the past year, this is a dress that makes her hips and butt look heavier – that’s what happens when you wear such heavy fabric, especially with pleats. But, the black belt defines her waist and you can tell that the top part was tailored for her. I also think the visible zipper cheapens the look, and I would have liked to see her wear different shoes and wear her hair up. But yeah… overall, this is a win for me. Crazy, I know. Kim and Kanye look nice together.
