A ‘Friends’ Cookbook is coming soon

Stuck inside and looking for new recipes to try?  Have you considered a trifle with season beef? It tastes like feet. That’s just one of the recipes that will be included in the new ‘Friends’ cookbook.  Seriously. That’s in there. With the upcoming (no real idea when) ‘Friends’ reunion show is undoubtedly going to spawn all kinds of silly things that relate to the show.  Like peep hole picture frames and ‘Big fat goalie’ tee shirts.  But oddest so far is the more or less joke cookbook based on all the shows many food related episodes. Friends: The Official Cookbook, set for publication on September 22nd, will feature over 70 recipes inspired by the iconic ten-season series I’m not a shill for them, but if you want it, preorder it at amazon. Life Size Lego ‘Friends’ Set erected in Vegas

I think it’s clear from the number of posts I gleefully make that I’m a friends fan. So I love almost everything about this. I’m NOT ok with the live monkey on set.  Ok, so that aside… this is wild. The installation was commissioned by Warner Bros. Television to commemorate the ongoing festivities for the 25th anniversary of “Friends.”  It took just shy of 1,000,000 bricks to put together and it’s steller. Lego brick artist Nathan Sawaya spent 4 months building the exhibit at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino. ‘Friends’ and ‘The Office’ leaving Netflix

This is way more relevant than some of you might think.  Hear me out. Netflix is currently in possession of all 11 seasons of Friends and all 10 seasons of The Office. And believe it or not, they are the streaming services highest watched shows.  Over all new and old content. It seems millennials just love that 90’s humor and binge the two shows constantly. So, naturally, NBC/Time Warner looks at that and says WTF, why are we letting other people get all the cheddar for our shows? Sure, you can watch them on NBC as well, but to have them exclusively… that’s the motts. So word is The Office will leave Netflix in December of this year (2019, for our high readers) and Friends is likely to follow suit soon after.  At which time NBC will likely try and charge you for access to yet ANOTHER app to see shows on.  I really need this shit streamlined. Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper are through as friends!

Kathy Griffin, the comedian that made headlines in June after she was featured in a photo holding a bloodied mask that resembled President Trump, said in an interview that she is no longer friends with her former New Year’s Eve co-host, Anderson Cooper. Griffin told The Cut that when Cooper eventually reached out to her, she informed him that their friendship was over. Griffin was apparently upset about Cooper’s initial response to the photo controversy. The CNN anchor said, “For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.” Griffin told the magazine that she was upset that Cooper did not reach out to her before commenting publically. Griffin, meanwhile, is attempting to relaunch her career after being marred by the photo controversy. She came out hours later acknowledging she “went too far” and apologizing for the disturbing image, but the damage was done. Several theaters canceled performances with Griffin citing the controversy. CNN announced it would be ending its relationship with the star, who hosts its New Year’s Eve program. Her co-host, Anderson Cooper, also said he was “appalled” by the photoshoot. Trump and first lady Melania Trump also released statements condemning the attack on their family. Trump added the picture took a toll on his 11-year-old son Barron as the first lady questioned Griffin’s mental health. Griffin later accused the Trump family of systematically “mobilizing their armies” against her. “I don’t think I’ll have a career after this.
