People Still Want to See Lady GaGa, Apparently

Lady GaGa is getting ready to go out in support of her ARTPOP album and is bringing her ‘artRave: The ARTPOP Ball Tour’ to the UK this fall. Tickets went on sale the other day, and while you’d think the basic flop of the album itself would mean no one would be in too much of a hurry to get tickets, that’s not the case at all – the entire UK tour sold out in under five minutes!

 

I can’t imagine what this tour is going to be like, but if the iTunes Festival performance last September is anything to go by, the audience is in for a hot ass mess.

Would you pay to go see GaGa or have you seen any of her other tours?

Lady GaGa has never been particularly shy about her love of illegal substances, and while she swears she’s off the hard shit, she still likes to pass the dutchie on the left hand side – or the gold plated bong or whatever she smokes from. Apparently it help her “forget her fame” and feel like the rest of us peons or whatever.

Here’s what she said on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man, which was on last night:

“Yes, all of those things, but you know the thing that I really fell in love with about it is that I completely forget that I’m famous. Just totally forget about it, and I just take a puff and I’m me when I was 17 again, in my white go-go boots, looking for a job on the Lower East Side, and there’s something quite creative and liberating about it.”

“Because that’s the one thing for me that’s difficult about being famous. I love being able to sing and perform and dance for all of you, but the stuff in between is maybe not exactly what makes me tick, if that makes any sense? The thing that I really care about is being on a stage, and ‘Applause’ – my first single from this album [ARTPOP], is about that very thing, I’m sort of an old-fashioned showbusiness kind of a girl.”

Uhhhhhhh… please tell me in what sense she’s “old-fashioned”? Please, literally just name one. Also, I think Lady GaGa might be the only person in humanity who smokes to remember what life was like at 17. Christ.

That Freaky Life-Sized Lady GaGa Doll Is Back and It Wants You To Listen to ARTPOP

Remember that freaky ass life-sized Lady GaGa doll that was being made in Japan? It was weird, and we had no idea what was going on with it… but now it’s all becoming clear. It’s actually a life-sized ARTPOP listening station! Because that totally makes it better… Apparently the people putting this nightmare together are using a special “bone conduction system” to make it so that anyone who puts their head against GAGADOLL’s heart can hear songs from the album. Uh… I’m going to pass.

Lady GaGa’s ‘ARTPOP’ Is Like Reverse Warhol Or Something

Lady GaGa‘s new album, ARTPOP, leaked online last week. I downloaded it because I’m a masochist, which is why I’m even writing up this story. The Lady herself did a sit-down interview with The Daily Mail in which she rambled on about the artistic significance of the record and started calling it the reverse of Andy Warhol and a bunch of other garbage.

Here, let’s let her speak for herself:

“Well I’d define it in lots of different ways. On the album I say, ‘We could belong together ARTPOP‘, so in the simplest way I would say the dream of these two things belonging, art and pop together but with art in the front.

“We sort of like to say if we can belong together you and I, or me and my fans – if we can belong together in this room and make love then maybe our dream of these two things – art and pop – belonging together, maybe that could come true.”

“So the intention of the album was to put art culture into pop music, a reverse of Warhol. Instead of putting pop onto the canvas, we wanted to put the art onto the soup can.”

ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz… What is she even talking about anymore? Seriously? Making love with her fans in a soup can? I just… no. Make it stop immediately.

Lady GaGa Rushes ‘Applause’ Release; I’m Not Clapping

I know I’ve said it before, but I’m just so exhausted by Lady GaGa. She makes me feel 100 years old, that’s how tired I am of her, her “artistic vision” (read: gimmicks), her shitty attempt at avant garde pop, her annoying Twitter rants, everything. I just want it to stop, but it doesn’t look like I’m going to get that chance anytime soon.

You’ll remember that 12 seconds of her shit new single ‘Applause’ “leaked” the other day (I’d hardly call that a leak) and she got all up in arms about it before lashing out at “bloggers” who panned the track. Well, now she’s been forced to release it in full a bit early after declaring a “pop music emergency”. I’m rolling my eyes, too.

So, here’s ‘Applause’ in all its non-glory. I hate the sing-talking, I hate the lyrics, I hate how up her own ass she is, I hate everything about it. Of course it’ll get massive and because it’s hers and because it’s the first thing she’s released in a couple of years, people will eat this shit up and it’ll do really well. I just would have expected her to come up with something a bit more clever during her time off than a song about how great she is and how she lives for people to worship her. No thanks.

Is Gaga’s Prosthetic Arm Insensitive Or Just Gimmicky?

Lady Gaga‘s single hasn’t even officially come out yet, but the chick is everywhere, and naked half the time. She’s serious about promoting ARTPOP, and this means a whole new change of image. She released a few official promo pics for her upcoming album (including this naked one, of course) and she’s stripped away the crazy makeup and hair, but this being Gaga, she’s got to have some kind of gimmick, right?

I guess her new thing is to carry a prosthetic arm. Not a mannequin arm, but an actual prosthetic (above). Here’s another one from that shoot.

So is this just an artistic expression thing or is it actually insensitive? Some have pointed out that those with prosthetic arms aren’t psyched that Gaga’s posing with it like she’s Michelle Williams in a Louis Vuitton ad.
