Alexandra Grant Birthdays Keanu Reeves

Alexandra Grant posted a birthday message for Keanu Reeves warning against scams

A belated happy birthday to one of Canada’s best exports, Keanu Reeves! Keanu turned 61 on September 2. As is his style, Keanu celebrated his birthday privately. We didn’t get any pap shots or reports of him going out to dinner with friends. We were, however, treated to a birthday post that Keanu’s longtime girlfriend, Alexandra Grant, dedicated to him. Alexandra posted a picture of Keanu’s birthday cake along with a really sweet message thanking him for his “love and partnership.” She also thanked fans for their well-wishes and assured them that he was “well-celebrated.”

On Sept. 2, actor Keanu Reeves turned 61 years old, and while many fans and friends shared tributes online, the star kept any birthday celebrations under the radar, leaving fans wondering what he did for the occasion.

Thankfully, Reeves’ longtime partner, Alexandra Grant, shared a glimpse of how they celebrated the exciting day, along with a special message for the Matrix star. Grant took to Instagram to post the rare update, sharing a photo of a cake that read, “KEANU,” with an “X” underneath.

“Thank you to everyone for sending over sweet wishes for Keanu’s birthday yesterday… he was well-celebrated!” began Grant’s message in the caption, with the artist thanking fans for all their love.

Grant concluded her birthday tribute with a sweet note just for Reeves, writing, “And to Keanu – who saw this post as a draft! – I am so grateful for your love and partnership. Now back to painting! xo.”

The 52-year-old also took the opportunity to emphasize to fans how her partner, Reeves, doesn’t have any of his own social media, warning people not to get tricked by anyone pretending to be the actor: “If you, or anyone you know, is being taken advantage of online by someone pretending to be Keanu, please seek out help from the social media platform or your local law enforcement.”

[From Parade]

It sounds like Keanu had a great birthday. His cake looks good, too! If I had to make a guess, I’d go with it being a peanut butter and chocolate cake. Just looking at it is making me hungry. I’m normally a vanilla/vanilla (I know, the jokes write themselves with that one) or mint ice cream cake kinda gal, but if it mimics a Reese’s, then I’m all in. I also appreciate that Alexandra went out of her way to assure us that Keanu knew that she was going to make the post. He probably gave his blessing. I hope 61 brings Keanu more happiness, success, and peace.

There was also a portion of Alexandra’s post that reminded people that Keanu is as offline as they come. Here it is:

As many of you know, Keanu isn’t on any social media platforms and doesn’t see posts or memes unless someone who is shows him. If you, or anyone you know, is being taken advantage of online by someone pretending to be Keanu, please seek out help from the social media platform or your local law enforcement.

That’s a reference to a terrible scam that’s been prevalent over the past few years in which scammers pretend to be celebrities to romance their marks. They extort money from people and then promise that they’ll run away together. It’s happened with people using Keanu, Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock, and more. The way these scammers prey on vulnerable or naive people is just disgusting. There is a special place in hell for those types of people. I’m glad Alexandra made sure to publicly educate fans about this scam.

Cynthia Erivo Fashion Katie Holmes Keanu Reeves Michelle Williams nicole scherzinger Sarah Paulson Tony Awards

Katie Holmes wore Prada at the Tony Awards: one of the worst looks of the night?

This is nowhere near a comprehensive fashion list for last night’s Tony Awards, I’m just trying to highlight some of the best or worst fashion moments from people I recognized! I covered George Clooney’s appearance separately – go here to see. Katie Holmes went to the Tonys in this two-piece Prada ensemble. In my opinion, the house of Prada has issues and this is a glaring example of those issues. They have color issues – they put funky colors together and when they do bicolor or tricolor looks, it’s always jarring. The top part of this is also just… awful, it’s like a wrinkled sack.

Nicole Scherzinger surprised everyone by winning her first Tony Award for Sunset Boulevard, beating out Audra McDonald in Gypsy. It was also a surprise because Nicole’s time on Broadway has been marred by some off-Broadway gossip, like her coziness with MAGA. She wore a custom Rodarte, which looked lovely (albeit slightly dated).

Cynthia Erivo was the Tonys host, and she had a lot of outfit changes. She wore this Schiaparelli look for the red carpet. Eh.

Sarah Snook won her first Tony! Her gown was Richard Quinn.

Michelle Williams wore Bibhu Mohapatra – I LOVE the skirt. I feel like the top could have been different?

Sarah Paulson wore Schiaparelli as well – this is so “1950s.”

Bonus Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. Keanu practically got a lapdance from Jonathan Groff!

Alexandra Grant Ana de Armas Fashion Keanu Reeves Premieres

Keanu Reeves’ girlfriend Alexandra Grant wore a diamond ring at the Ballerina premiere

I love the John Wick movies. The latest movie in the franchise comes out this Friday, June 6. From the World of John Wick: Ballerina stars Ana de Armas as ballerina assassin Eve Macarro (originally portrayed by Unity Phelan in the 3rd movie). It follows her through her training with The Director, played by Angelica Huston. It’s a spin-off that takes place in between the third and fourth JW movies. Keanu Reeves is still in it! It’s also *sob* Lance Reddick’s final film appearance.

At the LA Ballerina premiere Keanu walked the red carpet with his girlfriend, Alexandra Grant. They held hands and looking amazing. Keanu wore a well-fitting dark-gray suit. Alexandra wore a gorgeous red dress with a plunging neckline and accessorized with a gold clutch and sparkly silver heels. The ruffle on the neckline is really fun, too.

They also sparked engagement rumors because Alexandra is wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger. (You can’t really see it in these pics.) Whether it was an engagement ring or not, it was also a gorgeous accessory.

Ana de Armas was wearing a custom Louis Vuitton gown. I didn’t like it at first, but the purple color grew on me. It’s very mid-90s Gwyneth-coded.

Catalina Sandino Moreno was in Paolo Sebastian. I think it’s very pretty on her, but it kind of reminds me of the ‘Snow Queen Goes to Hollywood.’ The beaded detailing on the top is so pretty.

Gabriel Byrne was also there wearing a suit in a really nice shade of blue. I have no problem with the classic gray or black suit, but I really love when men go for a non-traditional color.

Here’s the trailer. It’s getting really good reviews, too, so I’m probably going to go see it this weekend:

Ana de Armas Fashion Keanu Reeves Premieres

Ana de Armas wore LV & posed with Keanu Reeves at the UK ‘Ballerina’ premiere

Here are some photos from last night’s Ballerina premiere in London. Ballerina is part of the John Wick Universe, although the story does not come chronologically after John Wick: Chapter 4. I love Keanu Reeves and I’m happy he created this franchise, but I’ve never watched an entire John Wick movie. Bless him, though. Good for him, truly. Anyway, Ana de Armas plays a ballerina-assassin and Keanu’s John Wick is also in the film. Keanu came out for the London premiere, and they posed together on the carpet. She seems to enjoy Keanu a lot. Keanu was perfectly respectful – he’s an unproblematic face who has never been touchy-feely with his lady costars, you barely ever see him posing with his arms around someone (unless he’s with Sandra Bullock). Ana wore Louis Vuitton for the premiere… like, I think LV has done Ana dirty so often, but I assume that they’ve paying her a lot, so it is what it is. This week, Ana spoke to WWD about all of the Tom Cruise rumors:

Ana de Armas hinted at her relationship with Tom Cruise as the pair continue to spark dating rumors.

“Obviously, everyone knows I’m working with Tom Cruise,” the “Ballerina” star teased during an interview with Women’s Wear Daily published Thursday. De Armas and Cruise are “working on something” with action movie directors Christopher McQuarrie and Doug Liman.

“Those guys are unbelievable at everything they do,” de Armas said in part. “And they’re so lovely and a great team, and the process we’re having is amazing.”

The “Knives Out” actress, 37, also touched on the physical rigors of working with the “Top Gun” actor, 62, and his action movie collaborators. “Of course I’m doing crazy training, as you do when you’re working with Tom. It’s another level that just keeps setting the bar higher and higher. But it’s so much fun. And we’re not only working on that thing that we’re training for, but also a couple other things too. We just got excited.”

[From Page Six]

So, there you go. She’s not dating Tom Cruise. They’re working together. I would even argue that Tom is probably mentoring her, as he’s done for other actors. Fun fact: Keanu is only two years younger than Tom!

Keanu Reeves says he threw up ‘a couple of times’ doing stunts for John Wick

Keanu Reeves has had a busy few weeks of movie anniversary celebrations. Last month, he was joined by Sandra Bullock and director Jon de Bont for a 30th anniversary screening of Speed. On November 3, it was time to celebrate the John Wick’s 10th anniversary. At the event, Keanu and his co-star Ian McShane did a panel with producer Erica Lee and co-director Chad Stahelski. During the panel, Keanu talked a bit about his experience filming the action movie, in which he reportedly did 90% of his own stunts. He worked so hard on those fight scenes that he even threw up “a couple of times.”

Moderator Grae Drake asked Reeves how far he was pushed to play the titular hitman who gets revenge on the Russian mobsters responsible for the death of his dog.

Reeves said the experience was a “gift,” adding, “I had so many wonderful teachers and guidance and worked with so many talented actors, actresses and stunt people in the sense of it’s such a dance and collaboration and cooperation. So there’s a couple of times where you throw up or puke or whatever, but that’s what makes it good!”

McShane also praised Reeves’ willingness to go the extra mile.

“He pushes the envelope all the time. So when your leading actors says, ‘We’d like do another one,’ and it’s raining for the seventh day in a row outside … and you’re standing there, whatever. And you go, ‘Well, Keanu’s doing it. Here we are. Here we go,’ ” said McShane.

The movie was a hit, and launched three sequels, which have collectively made more than $1 billion globally. The films have also become famous for their violent and involved fight scenes, including one in which Keanu’s Wick shoves a sharpened pencil in the eye and ear of a foe.

When moderator Drake quipped that “nobody’s ever looked at a pencil the same way again,” Reeves responded: “You shouldn’t. Because they work!”

[From People]

I am impressed but not at all surprised by Keanu’s work ethic. It’s insane that he pushed himself so hard that he threw up, though. That is hardcore, especially because he was 49 years old when they filmed the first movie. This reminds me of Halle Berry’s stories about getting broken bones and being knocked out three times on set. Halle was in John Wick: Chapter 3 when she broke three ribs, so we know those action scenes and stunts are definitely intense to film. It sounds like Keanu really is just as lovely, hardworking, and professional as he appears. He’ll be back for John Wick: Chapter 5, which surprised me, given the ending of the fourth movie.

Anyway, I love the John Wick movies. I didn’t think I’d be into it so wasn’t really watching it when Mr. Rosie put the fist movie on. I started paying attention midway through, though, and was like, “All this for a dog?” After that, I was all in. Did you know that Eva Longoria is the reason why the first movie was even able to be made in the first place? They were short on budget, so at the very last minute, Eva provided the additional six million dollars needed to fund it. She still gets residuals from it, too.

Ellen Degeneres Halle Berry Keanu Reeves Movies Sandra bullock

Sandra Bullock: Speed 3 will be ‘the geriatric version. It won’t be fast’

Last week, Sandra Bullock, Keanu Reeves, and director Jan de Bont reunited at Beyond Fest for a 30th anniversary screening of their movie, Speed. I love that movie (and Sandra and Keanu!) so much. As a part of the evening’s events, the trio did a Q&A about the movie. During the Q&A, Sandy spoke about her audition to play bus driver Annie Porter, which included describing a hilarious visual of acting out the scene using a folding chair and a paper plate as the steering wheel. Keanu and Jan also went down memory lane to to talk about her casting process. Of course, they also addressed the question of whether there’d be a third Speed movie.

“I was the new kid on the block and it was nerve-wracking,” Bullock said onstage at Beyond Fest at American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre on Oct. 8. “I remember arriving there, I remember the car I drove, I remember what I was thinking.”

Turning to Reeves, 60, and Speed director Jan de Bont, she added, “I walked in, I remember the room was kind of dark. You guys had it dark!”

But what made the audition especially memorable was the way de Bont, 80, and Reeves had improvised a makeshift bus. “There was a folding chair, there was a paper plate,” said Bullock with a laugh. The plate, of course, “was the steering wheel I was handed.”

So pretending to drive a bus with only “Keanu, Jan, the carpeted floor, a folding chair and a paper plate,” she added, meant harnessing the power of her actorly imagination. “All my acting classes all came together and went out the window,” quipped Bullock.

“The moment I saw you, I knew that you would be the driver,” de Bont said to Bullock, whose character takes over driving a Los Angeles bus rigged to explode if its speed drops below 50 mph.

Bullock acknowledged that that may have been the Dutch filmmaker’s takeaway from the audition, but added that she’s met actresses who were up for the role before her. “You saw me after one, two and three couldn’t do it,” she teased. “Then you saw me in the dark room.”

Reeves, who in the film plays SWAT team officer Jack Traven, admitted that he remembered Bullock’s audition albeit without much detail. Of his own casting, he said, “I met this mad genius [de Bont] and I was like, Oh, f—, man. This is a director, this is a person with a vision. This is someone who has a passion for the story.”

The Matrix star added with a smile, “Then I got Sandra.”

“No,” Bullock corrected playfully. “There were three others.” When Reeves claimed he didn’t remember other actresses, she said, “That is why I love him.”

“I have never been so proud of those two actors, what they did for me,” reflected de Bont. “What they had to do is just unbelievable. But the relationship that those two created together is absolutely amazing.”

Of the possibility of a third film — which the Beyond Fest audience greeted with an enthusiastic round of applause — de Bont said, “I think it would be a different movie.” Nodding to Bullock and Reeves, he continued, “It would be great to work with them [again].”

Bullock quipped that a Speed 3 would be “the geriatric version. It won’t be fast.”

Up next, Reeves will reprise his role as John Wick in 2025’s Ana de Armas spinoff Ballerina and star in Aziz Ansari’s Good Fortune. Bullock’s upcoming projects include a sequel to Practical Magic costarring Nicole Kidman.

[From People]

I did some Googling, and it looks like the other two actresses who were considered to play Annie were Halle Berry and Ellen DeGeneres. Halle was offered the role when the character was written as a paramedic (she declined and later regretted it) and Ellen was considered when it evolved into a comedic sidekick. I cannot see the Ellen casting at all and am super glad that they didn’t keep Annie as a comic relief. I think Halle could have done a good job with the role, but it would have been a different movie. Sandra’s casting as the bus driver was perfect, though, and I’m happy it introduced her to the rest of us.

Keanu and Sandra have both joked before about a third Speed movie being a “geriatric version.” In a joint interview on the Speed-themed podcast “50 MPH,” Keanu expressed interest in doing a third movie, while Sandy joked, “Are we, you know, in wheelchairs or with walkers? Maybe. Maybe.” I don’t need them to work together on another Speed movie, but if it’s going to happen, then I say embrace the action and make it the perfect opportunity to prove that 60 is the new 40!

Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves reunite for 30th anniversary of Speed

One of my all-time favorite movies from the 1990s/ever is Speed. It came out when I was 10 years old, and I have always regarded it as one of my “origin story” movies for why I’m such a big fan of action movies. Speed turns 30 this year. To mark the occasion, there was a special screening on Tuesday at the Beyond Fest American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles. Sandra Bullock showed up alongside Keanu Reeves and director Jan de Bont. While backstage, all three took some time to answer questions about the movie.

Speed, the iconic thriller led by the superstars back in 1994, celebrated its 30th anniversary by reuniting Reeves, 60, and Bullock, 60 on Tuesday, Oct. 8. The special Los Angeles screening was part of Beyond Fest at American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre. Joined by Speed director Jan de Bont, 80, in a talkback onstage, Reeves and Bullock were all smiles as they remembered filming the Oscar-winning action hit.

“We knew we were doing something wacky,” said Reeves of playing SWAT officer Jack Traven, who boards a bus rigged to detonate a bomb if its speed drops below 50 mph.

“I was behind the wheel of a projectile, so I was just happy to be alive at the end of the day,” joked Bullock, who played Annie Porter, a passenger on the bus who helps to prevent its explosion. I mean I was new to the whole game so I wasn’t aware of what was happening or what felt right or what was not supposed to feel a certain way, but I was just, you’re just in it.”

Speaking about how the actors were really “smashing into things” during filming, Bullock added, “So I think as an actor and, as I was a newbie, I was behind the wheel wanting everyone to be safe. It was special.”

For de Bont, Speed’s stars were integral to its critical and commercial success. “I have never been so proud of those two actors, what they did for me and quite often unnatural to them,” said the filmmaker.

“What they had to do is just unbelievable. But the relationship that those two created together is absolutely amazing,” he continued. “And seeing it back on the screen tonight, it was so real. They were absolutely perfect. All the emotions were right, all the laughter was right, all the smiling, the little smoothing.”

“It was really, really cool. And I had to tell them how great they both were,” he continued. “I mean I realized more now how great you guys were at the time. I have to say busy, but now I really say, ‘Oh s—,’ and it’s so good.”

The award-winning Speed spawned a poorly received sequel in 1997, Speed 2: Cruise Control, starring a returning Bullock, Jason Patric and Willem Dafoe.

[From People]

““We knew we were doing something wacky.” LOL Keanu, never change, you are the best. Anyway, man, I love these two together! I may be preaching to the choir here, but Speed also made me a lifelong fan of both Sandy B and Keanu, and I cannot even tell you how refreshing it is that the two of them ended up being decent human beings. And can we talk about how good they both look! Sandra doesn’t look a day over 40! I need to know what products she’s using. In the past, both actors have said that they’d be game to work together again. I do not need another Speed sequel, but I am itching to see them in a movie together! I saw The Lake House in theaters, but I honestly cannot remember much about it, hahaha. In the meantime, I think I have a Speed rewatch in my future this weekend. It’s been a few years, so I’m overdue.
