Rapper Sammy Adams collapsed onstage during a concert in New Jersey last weekend and is the latest in a string of rappers to have medical issues while performing. Medical issues, overdoses, whatever you want to call them. He may have had a seizure, but my guess is that he saw Molly’s bad side. Meaning, he had a bad trip on ecstasy.
Sammy’s “collapse” is a really weird one, he doesn’t just drop and start convulsing, his eyes and body follow something in a downward spiral as he melts into a heap onstage. He seems fine one second and then next, not so much. It’s like his eyes catch something incredible, something awe inspiring, and he can’t take his eyes off it.
It was probably a light, or a balloon, or who knows what (does anyone know?) but both Adams and the DJ see something that distracts them:
After the object, or light, catches their eye, the DJ seems happy with it, but clearly it is scaring the piss out of Sammy. He can’t stop staring at whatever it is. or whatever it is he THINKS he is seeing.
He looks to the sky and spins around, his mouth agape. There’s a bright white flash that adds extra oomph to the already bizarre scene. I’m sure it was the camera adjusting to light or something, but the flash of light makes it look like he’s about to be abducted from aliens or something. Heh.
The DJ is happily trippin’ while Sammy Adams seems to be having a REALLY bad trip. Once the DJ figures out something bad is happening he runs backstage for help.
Sammy later tweeted that he had been “under the weather” but we have a hunch he just had a really bad trip.
