Priyanka Chopra, who doesn’t work out because she is genetically blessed, was recently interview about her status as a sex symbol – and the actress says she does not mind being objectified as it is part of her job and everyone wants to be hot.

On whether she’s proud of being a sex symbol:

“Yes, being objectified is part of my job. I don’t get offended by being called a sex symbol, because I’m an actress and it’s the nature of what I do. But I don’t think being a sex symbol is something you want to aim for. Of course you want to be hot, but that’s not all you want to stand for.”

Natalie Imbruglia: ‘I’m not going to apologize for being good looking’

On dealing with body dysmorphia in her 20s:

I was not in a good place. I was going through some sort of body dysmorphia and it wasn’t good. There was always so much focus on the way I looked. If I see photographs of myself in my 20s I can see in my eyes that I’m trying to look like I’m having a good time, but I was basically really conscious of having to step up. It was pretty confusing to have people always asking about your appearance. The assumption was that I was where I was because of my looks.

On how she feels these days about her looks:

But now I’m 40 I’m totally over that. I’m not going to apologize any more for being good-looking. My mum and dad are attractive people, that’s just how it is. All the focus on your looks just sends you insane.

“If a guy was like, “I can get p–sy whenever I want,” that guy would be a dickhead. But to deny that there’s a major difference is ridiculous. For women, we’re taught to eat less until we disappear. And trained to believe that if you don’t look like everyone else, then you’re unlovable. And men are not trained that way. Men can look like whatever and still date a supermodel. Sometimes I wear two pairs [of Spanx] under something or stockings—it holds you in. And when you go on all these hormones and stuff, before I felt like, you know, I was trying everything so I was getting bigger and bigger and I was like ‘No, I’m not pregnant yet, I need to be skinny.’ So, I was definitely insecure. And, I mean, sometimes I’ll wear something and I’ll get inside and be like ‘Oh my God, I want to take these shoes off,’ like ‘That was not normal, I can’t wear these, I need to just leave and take them off.’ So it might look good in the picture, but I get them and then like, I’ve got to be normal and like unbutton my pants when I get in the car.

On how wearing flats was the hardest thing about pregnancy:

I happen to hate the way I look in flats. It’s really hard for me so I’m already thinking, like, ‘What the f–k am I going to do?’ And when I was pregnant, it was the hardest thing. But I know it’s better and easier, you know, so it’s a struggle.
