Wow, this is Lupita Nyong’o’s first red carpet event since winning her Oscar. If you don’t count going to Paris for the MiuMiu show, which… yes, that was a public event, but it wasn’t like she walked a carpet. Anyway, these are photos from Marie Claire’s “Fresh Faces” party at the Soho House in LA last night. Lupita wore this flowery Giambattista Valli Fall 2013 Couture dress which… eh. Jessica Biel wears a lot of Valli, so much so that I always associate Biel with the label. I do think Lupita pulls this off more than any other actress could though. It’s a cute look, I suppose. I’m more interested in what’s going on with Lupita’s hair! But she always looks beautiful.
Elle Fanning in Versace Fall 2014. Beautiful. Truly. It’s a little mature for her, but she is 16 years old and costarring in a movie with Angelina Jolie, so maybe she’s aiming for a more mature look.
Kate Mara wore red too – this is Christian Dior. I don’t like it that much, mostly because I don’t think it suits her petite figure. It’s such a heavy, almost matronly look on such a young woman.
Jaimie Alexander in… unknown. It’s a pretty ensemble. Mostly I’m just happy that wide-leg trousers are coming back into style. I’m so over the skinny-pants look.
And finally, The Kardashification of Naya Rivera was there. Most of you are saying she looks like a Kardashian now, but I’m still saying that she’s aiming for a mini-J.Lo look. Naya has had A LOT of plastic surgery over the past year, including some new boobs… which you can’t really see in her Philosophy top. Still… why did she mess with her face so much?
