Gal Gadot in Balmain at the ‘Batman v Superman’ premiere: budget or cute?

Here are some photos from last night’s giant Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice premiere in NYC. After all of the money spent (well over $400 million-plus), all of the time, all of the effort, all of the extensive reshoots, all of Zack Snyder’s endless lens flares, do you think this movie is even going to be watchable? I don’t even know. What I do know is that the studio is not spreading around extra cash to make sure that their female stars are fashion powerhouses.

Gal Gadot wore this Balmain minidress which… I’m really not feeling for the big Gotham premiere, you know? I’m not saying she had to wear a ball gown, but maybe don’t treat this premiere like it’s a Fast & Furious premiere, I guess. Plus, I genuinely don’t like the dress. I think Gal is so pretty, and the styling does nothing for her.

Amy Adams wore Tom Ford, in what I kind of assume was a custom-made piece. I like this gown a lot, and it does feel appropriate for the venue, dark and slinky and Gotham-y. I also feel like it’s something Lois Lane would pick out. Right? Incidentally, Amy and Henry Cavill had a really cute interview in this weekend’s Parade Mag about how Superman and Lois are for real, and they’re a real couple with real problems and a real love – . Amy thinks Superman is into giving footrubs to Lois.

Diane Lane… this dress would have been cute at a day-time event, but I’m not feeling it for this premiere.

Henry Cavill did not bring his 19-year-old girlfriend to the premiere, which surprises me a little bit. Ben Affleck also seemed to be going stag, and the Batfleck’s face… well… something is going on with him. Yikes.

Bonus photo of Holly Hunter, who plays a senator in the film. I would do anything for Holly. I love seeing her. I wish she didn’t have to do stupid comic-book movies.

Blake Lively stopped dyeing her hair completely while pregnant: no big deal?

Blake Lively has been all over the place this week, but this is the first time we’ve had photos of her in a while. Blake was spotted leaving a NYC hotel yesterday. Which is weird, because she and Ryan own an apartment in NYC? Maybe she was at the hotel on business. As for her look in these photos – I like that coat. And I like that she’s wearing pants, because a month ago, she was going through a weird maternity-minidress phase and I feared some pregnant “Marilyn Moments” from her.

People have also been discussing Blake’s hair a lot lately. Apparently, she stopped dying it blonde when she got pregnant, so she has long, dark roots coming in, which you can see in these photos. THR even wrote an article about it, seriously. They spoke to “L’Oreal celebrity hair colorist Kari Hill,” who said: “Blake has decided to not color her hair at all, thus growing out her darker roots.” Hill suggests that Blake try some highlights so that her dark roots blend in with the double-process blonde she had pre-pregnancy. You can read more here. Granted, I’ve never been pregnant, but I thought the general consensus was that most hair dyes are safe to use while pregnant? Or is it different for blondes?

Blake has also been giving some interviews, although none of the quotes are very interesting (to me). Blake told People Mag that her mom is her icon of working motherhood, etc. Blake also spoke to the Daily Mail about Christmas stuff.

Meanwhile, word is that Blake’s husband Ryan Reynolds will be playing Deadpool. Filming starts in March? I wonder when Blake is due. My guess is still January/February.

Kate Upton surfaces in Emilio Pucci for the FMAs: basic or beautiful?

Kate Upton attended the Fashion Media Awards on Friday night. She wore a white Emilio Pucci minidress that was pretty basic. Kate rarely brings it on the red carpet even though she’s stunning. I like the skirt’s subtle draping, but the top half looks uncomfortable. The dress needs some tailoring for sure. Those are Bulgari jewels. Kate won the Social Media award for being so active on Twitter and Instagram. The title is bittersweet because Kate probably wants little to do with the internet right now.

This was Kate’s first real outing since her iPhone photos were stolen in the massive celeb hacking ring. Kate has said she’s pursuing legal action. These photos weren’t actually on Kate’s phone (they were on Justin Verlander’s phone), which complicates matters. Kate was definitely the target. Justin sort of (not really) issued a comment on the situation: “I keep my personal life personal. The focus for me is on the Detroit Tigers. I don’t want to take any focus away from this team and what we’re trying to accomplish. We’re in the middle of a pennant race.” Dude is not happy, and I don’t blame him.

Kendall Jenner was at the FCAs to present. She wore Marc Jacobs. These pants remind me of a wicker lawn chair. Kendall recently dropped “Jenner” from her professional name, which means she’s a real model.

This wasn’t a huge fashion event even though it’s part of NYFW. Alessandra Ambrosio wore a sequinned nightie that looks like crushed velvet from a distance. Laverne Cox showed up in a cute skirt that had a cheerleader effect. Coco Rocha looked fabulous in a white top and slit skirt. Dakota Fanning and Christy Turlington had some sort of tent-dress competition. Both of them can do better, but Dakota’s sandals elevate her ensemble to passable.
