Zendaya wore a bubble skirt & a terrible blazer to the PFW Louis Vuitton show

I still say that it was a bad idea for Zendaya to sign on to a brand ambassadorship with Louis Vuitton. She is THE fashionista of the moment and every atelier wants to dress her. The only positive thing I’ll say is that her LV contract must be non-exclusive, because it does not seem like she has to wear LV exclusively on every red carpet. LV wants Zendaya’s fashion clout though, they want her at every show, they want her to bring all of the cameras and attention. So here we are – Zendaya attended the LV Spring show this week in Paris.

Vogue describes her look as “reminiscent of the suiting silhouettes that dominated the 1980s, notably in cult-classic films like Working Girl.” How dare you, Vogue!! This is not Working Girl-inspired in the least. It IS ‘80s inspired though, and I mean that in the most derogatory way possible. I’m not anti-bubble skirt, but the blazer is killing me.

Cate Blanchett also went to the LV show. Those pants are objectively hilarious. Cate’s bob is lethal these days.

Alicia Vikander is still a brand-ambassador for LV, I believe. The way they styled her should tell you everything you need to know about LV.

Chloe Moretz arguably got the best look. She’s giving Florence Pugh vibes here.

Chloë Grace Moretz on memes mocking her body: ‘it’s very hard to overcome’

Chloë Grace Moretz broke on to the scene when she was 12 in 2010’s Kick Ass, even though she’d been working for six years prior to that. We know Hollywood is hard on child actors, as is the public. Unfortunately, Chloë was not sparred from being the butt of the joke and it took its toll on her mental health. In 2016, Chloë was photographed carrying some pizza boxes into her hotel. Because of the angle and her outfit, the most prominent feature in the photo are her gorgeous legs. The internet, being the internet, made a meme of the photo comparing it to the Legs Go All the Way Up Griffin character from the Amish Guy episode of Family Guy. By this point, Chloë was already struggling with body issues and this meme going viral only compounded the problem. It left her with body dysmorphia and self-loathing that took a long time to overcome. Chloë recently spoke about the pain it caused and the fact that when she tried to address it at the time, she was told she should get over it.

“For a long time I was able to be the Chloë that people see and the Chloë that I am in private. Then those two worlds collided and I felt really raw and vulnerable and open,” she said. “And then came the onslaught of horrific memes that started getting sent to me about my body.”

While social media has played a role in the way that celebrities interact with their fans in an authentic way, it also provides an opportunity for people to engage with public figures on their own terms. For Moretz, there’s a standout incident in which a photo that circulated took a hit on her confidence.

“There was one meme that really affected me, of me walking into a hotel with a pizza box in my hand. And this photo got manipulated into a character from Family Guy with the long legs and the short torso, and it was one of the most widespread memes at the time,” she said. “Everyone was making fun of my body and I brought it up with someone and they were like, ‘Oh, shut the f*** up, it’s funny.’ And I just remember sitting there and thinking, my body is being used as a joke and it’s something that I can’t change about who I am, and it is being posted all over Instagram. It was something so benign as walking into a hotel with leftovers. And to this day, when I see that meme, it’s something very hard for me to overcome.”

After the meme incident, it even became the more exciting parts of her job that felt compromised.

“It took a layer of something that I used to enjoy, which was getting dressed up and going to a carpet and taking a photo, and made me super self-conscious. And I think that body dysmorphia— which we all deal with in this world — is extrapolated by the issues of social media,” she explained. “It’s a headf***.”

[From Yahoo Entertainment]

There are interviews from 2016 of Chloë talking about trying to get her mother to sign off on plastic surgery when she was 16. Even before she was given the Family Guy meme, people were calling a teenager “fat” and “masculine” to the point she wanted to alter her appearance. The messages we send young people are gutting. They seem to reach kids no matter how much we try to provide a body positive home environment too. It’s criminal. And what’s worse for people like Chloë who have this worldwide platform, we have no idea what she’s struggling with. I look at her legs in that photo and think how could you see anything but fantastic legs? But I have short, stubby legs that I am quite self-conscious about. We don’t know what Chloë’s insecurities are, maybe that meme tapped into them. Not that it needed to hit a particular hot button, it was mean from the outset.

I felt for Chloë that it took away her enjoyment of dressing up and doing red carpets. People don’t care about robbing others of their joy anymore.

Chloë said she went to therapy. That and using the pandemic to go incognito everywhere freed her up to regroup. Unfortunately, Chloë lost her dad during that time, although not due to Covid. But the whole experience has made her revaluate how she approached her public persona. Now Chloë is working more time off into her schedule so she can get a break from everything else. I hope she gets a break from people criticizing her, too.

Emma Stone wore a Louis Vuitton slipdress to the Met Gala: why??

The Louis Vuitton people were some of the first people on the Met Gala carpet and I have no idea why! LV screwed it up, as they usually do. We should have known as soon as Emma Stone walked out of the hotel in this simple white slipdress. I mean, it’s not hideous at all, but for the Met Gala? For “gilded glamour,” you’re going to give Emma Stone this little slipdress?

Chloe Moretz had my favorite Louis Vuitton. It seemed more like an interpretation of that famous Sarah Jessica Parker Met Gala look, but I enjoyed the vibe. The coat is great.

Gemma Chan in an absolute disaster. My God.

Sophie Turner & Joe Jonas. They never came out and said “we’re expecting again,” but they seem fine with the conversation. Sophie is a lovely pregnant lady and her dress looks comfortable. That’s all I’ll say.

Cynthia Erivo in Louis Vuitton. My second favorite LV look after Chloe’s. It is genuinely glamorous.

Phoebe Dynevor – a goth mess.

HoYeon Jung, no!!! This had nothing to do with anything!

Chloë Grace Moretz to Young Girl: “You’re enough”

ffn_vcv_52176269

Her message to young women:

This year especially, I had to realize that it’s OK to ask for help— it’s OK to not know. As a young woman you feel like you really need to have everything figured out—but it’s all right to say, ‘I don’t know. I have absolutely no idea.’ Keep good people around you because positivity begets positivity. I learned that the hard way. Just try to keep your head above the water and don’t get caught up in all the trash. I think another thing that is really helpful for young women to understand is that you’re enough. You don’t need that dress, you don’t need that compliment, you don’t need that post on social media. You, within yourself, are enough. And, finally, don’t underestimate the power of friendship.

… says Chloe in Teen Vogue.

Chloë Grace Moretz and Brooklyn Beckham make red carpet debut: cute?

This ^^ is the Alexander McQueen dress Chloë Grace Moretz wore to the premiere of her new film, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. With the dress’ frayed, open knit and saloon girl fringe draped over the arm combined with an exposed sheer black lace bra, I don’t think she needed the tussled locks for the just-rolled-out-of-bed look. In Chloë’s defense, she is wearing the look as it was shown on the runway, I’m just not sure she should have.

Anyway, Chloë, 19, walked with OFFICIAL boyfriend, Brooklyn Beckman, 17, on their first red carpet! The couple started dating about two years ago but were cagey about their status for some time. Well, no longer: Social Media Posting? Check. Official Confirmation? Check. Red Carpet Appearance? Check – folks, this relationship has lift-off. Brooklyn, looking a great deal like Blane from Pretty in Pink, happy posed with his girlfriend on her big night and the two shared the same amount of PDA as they did while dining with their families last month.

Chloe Grace Moretz and Brooklyn Beckham just took a major step in their relationship.

The two hit their first red carpet together earlier tonight at the Hollywood premiere of Moretz’s new comedy Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.

“Now, it’s out. It’s done,” Moretz, 19, told me. “Get over it. It’s real. We’re together and that’s it!”

Beckham, 17, actually surprised Moretz by flying in for the premiere from London.

“He’s very sweet,” Moretz said, adding, “He’s a very very genuine man. He’s a gentle man.”

The two took some photos before Moretz made her way down the carpets to do interviews. Beckham was spotted hanging out behind the step and repeat before heading into the theater.

Moretz also gushed about Brooklyn’s mom Victoria Beckham. Yes, they talk about fashion. “She’s a sweetie,” said Moretz, who was wearing a black ensemble from Alexander McQueen. “I love everything she does. We definitely give each other compliments, that’s for sure.”

The raunchy Neighbors sequel is something different for Moretz.

In fact, she even shot a sex scene with Efron. While it didn’t make the final cut of the movie, Moretz said, “We’re going to release it online pretty soon. It’s pretty wild.”

[From E! News]

Okay, it’s kind of sweet that he flew in to surprise her for the premiere – but that is as generous as I am going to get. Is it just me or is Chloë reading a little more importance into her relationship than, say, the rest of the world? “Get over it”? Well, gosh, give me a minute to… oh, wait – I am over it. Moreham (Chlooklyn?) does want us to know that they have only recently reunited. This may be due to the fact that Brooklyn’s relationship with Sonia Ben Ammar just ended in March. However, reminding the world she had him first, Chloë told Entertainment Tonight that they met, “a long time ago, years ago.” She also says Brooklyn’s, “… a sweetie. He’s a good boy!” (ruff!) In the excerpt above, she calls Victoria Beckham “a sweetie” as well. So I guess all the Beckhams are just a big bunch of sweeties.

I may pass on the sex scene between Chloë and Zac Efron, though. Chloe may be 19 but she doesn’t quite look it to me. The good news for Chloë is Neighbors 2, which opens this Friday, is – so far – getting semi-decent reviews as a comedy.

Oh heavens to Betsy – what is Rose Byrne wearing?
