Charlize Theron & Gabriel Aubry might be hooking up again, who knows

Back in 2017, there were strong rumors that Charlize Theron and Gabriel Aubry were hooking up. At the time, Charlize was single and Gabriel probably was too, and he had been pretty quiet for a few years following his heated custody and child support battle with Halle Berry. The basis for the 2017 rumor was that Charlize and Gabriel actually did know each other and their kids went to the same LA school. There were even photos of Gabe and Charlize talking during a school run. Well, five years later, that same rumor is being dusted off.

Spring fling! Charlize Theron has a new man in her life, an insider exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.

“Charlize has been hooking up with Gabriel Aubry,” the source says of the Oscar winner, 46, and the model, 45. “They’re very casual and enjoying each other.”

The Fate of the Furious actress and the Canada native were previously linked in 2017 after they were photographed together, but Theron denied rumors that they were dating. “I’ve never met him,” the Atomic Blonde star said during a July 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “I met him for, like, three seconds. Like, passing I was just like, ‘Hi!’ because our kids go to the same school.”

The South African star is mom to daughters Jackson, 10, and August, 8, whom she adopted in 2012 and 2015, respectively. Aubry, for his part, shares daughter Nahla, 14, with ex-girlfriend Halle Berry, from whom he split in 2010.

While Theron and the golf enthusiast have connected with each other, the insider notes that they’re still taking it slow. “It’s nothing serious,” the source explains to Us exclusively.

It’s pretty random for this rumor to get a second life five years later! Especially since Charlize, to me, doesn’t seem to prioritize romance or even hooking up. Her priorities are her daughters and her mom. She’s built a wall around her family unit. Sean Penn briefly scaled the wall and something happened between them – Charlize ran away and ghosted him and she doesn’t want to talk about any of it. Charlize doesn’t really seem to have a type. So… whatever. If they’re hooking up, good for them. If not, I’m sure they’re both fine.

Us Weekly: Jennifer Aniston has apparently been ‘enjoying a fling’ with Gabriel Aubry

Jennifer Aniston has been officially “single” since she and Justin Theroux split up more than three years ago. Do I think she’s actually been single? No. What’s happened is that she’s stopped being public with her relationships in any way. No casual leaks to People Magazine or Page Six, no red carpets with anyone other than costars, no interview baiting. But… something might be happening. Us Weekly has a lengthy story about how Jennifer is currently hooking up with Gabriel Aubry, only the Us Weekly story is mostly about how Jen is feeling post-Theroux, and her new romantic/life energy in general. It’s interesting. Here’s the crux of the story:

When Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux broke up in February 2018, sources told Us that she felt it was time to take a break from dating altogether. “Jen’s not really focused on finding romance,” an insider said at the time. “She loves her tribe of women-friends and her dogs. That’s very fulfilling to her.”

That is, until now. Insiders say that Aniston is finally loosening up to the idea of casual dating – and most recently has been enjoying a fling with Halle Berry’s ex, Gabriel Aubry, 44. “Jen is so happy to be having fun again, but she’s doing things differently this time around,” a source tells Us. “What’s most important to her right now is enjoying herself on a spontaneous level – and that applies to every aspect of her life.”

Whenever high-profile relationships didn’t work out in the past, she was stuck with the “poor Jen” tag, which she loathed. “It bugged her if people thought she was lonely or generally lurching from one ill-fated relationship to the other… so instead of putting herself out there and going public like she did with ex-boyfriends like Vince Vaughn or John Mayer, she’s now decided to keep her dates low-key and under the radar.”

“Jen likes that she can enjoy herself free of judgement or expectation,” shares the source. “That’s why Gabriel is great for her. He’s a laid-back and sensitive guy who’s not going to blab about things and Jen can feel safe knowing that what happens behind closed doors will stay private.”

The truth is, a casual affair with a drop-dead gorgeous model is exactly what Aniston wants right now. “Unlike years gone by, Jen isn’t bothered about finding someone special for a long-term, exclusive deal. She has a chill, way more content type of vibe. ‘If it happens, it happens’ is her new philosophy.”

As for Aubry, “physically he’s perfect, eyes are a big thing for Jen and she’s a sucker for guys with blonde hair and a deep tan.” Which reminds everyone of Brad Pitt, and Us Weekly has previously reported that Aniston and Pitt have secretly had a “friends with benefits situation” going on. “Brad won’t mind that Jen’s having fun and enjoying dates with Gabriel. They don’t really talk about other people they hang out with. It would be a little awkward. Brad trusts Jen to make the right choices with this stuff and knows she can look after herself.”

Yeah, Gabriel is her type “physically.” And we’ve barely seen him or heard about him in years, although I remember a while back, people were trying to make “Gabriel Aubry and Charlize Theron” into something and they basically just barely knew each other through their kids going to the same school or something. I suspect that Aubry’s name wasn’t chosen out of hat – he is a lowkey guy these days and it’s not like he’ll come out and confirm or deny it either way. Plus, they might legitimately be happening.

In the Us Weekly story, there’s also this long, extended sidenote about how Laura Dern – my nemesis – has been advising Aniston on her love life and helping her see that a “rich, single and decidedly middle-aged” woman could, like, have a lot of fun just dating and banging guys with no need to settle down. And then Us Weekly brings up the idea Dern and Aniston bonded over Angelina Jolie turning their lives upside down because Jesus Christ, I guess it’s 2005.

Anyway, TMZ spoke to sources close to Halle and Olivier and they claim that the couple were taking Nahla to a birthday party and that Olivier’s ring “does not signal a reconciliation. The divorce is still very much on, but civilized.” Do you believe that? I believe that Halle is trying to play this one differently, because after everything that went down with Gabriel Aubry, she lost some credibility. She can’t just throw everything she’s got at her ex and expect the public to be on her side immediately. Now, don’t get me wrong, there are still moments of Classic Halle, like when a “source” told People Magazine that Olivier was “emasculated” by Halle’s “beauty and power.” But maybe Halle saw that we were rolling our eyes over that one, so she’s trying a different strategy. Oh, and sources also spoke to People Magazine about this outing too, although this basically sounds like Halle and Olivier called People from the kid’s birthday party:

Martinez, who was still wearing his wedding ring, is “very happy that he and Halle are able to keep a good relationship. They want to make the divorce as painless as possible for the kids,” the source says.

Gabriel Aubry mildly fights back against claims he straightened daughter’s hair

Last month Halle Berry took her ex, Gabriel Aubry, to court over her claims that he had chemically straightened and lightened their six year-old daughter Nahla’s hair. Berry did this after petitioning, (unsuccessfully as far as we’ve heard) to have her child support to Aubry reduced from $16,000 a month to $3,800 a month. In court documents obtained by The Daily Mail, Berry claimed that the changes in her daughter’s hair could not be attributed to sun or chlorine damage. Berry also wrote that she sent a sample of Nahla’s hair to a lab for testing and that is confirmed her suspicions. If Berry submitted a copy of the lab report to the court it was not reported, however. She also claimed that Aubry repeatedly denied chemically straightening or dyeing their daughter’s hair. She wrote:

I have since reviewed the laboratory report concerning this very hair sample that I obtained, which confirms to me that Gabriel has not been truthful about what he has done and had been doing to our daughter’s hair.

I continue to worry about the potential psychological and physical damage to Nahla that can be caused by the use of chemical hair treatments and the psychological message that it conveys to Nahla, and to implore the court to put a stop to Gabriel’s attempts to alter our daughter’s appearance and most probably cause her to wonder why her natural appearance is not good enough.

As a result of Halle’s claim, the judge ruled that neither Aubry nor Berry could alter their daughter’s natural hair.

I thought this was just a case of former partners arguing over how to care for a little girl’s hair, although some readers had strong feelings about chemical hair treatments for children and their impact on racial identity. All of that may be moot, however, if Aubry wasn’t actually doing any of the things that Halle accused him of in court.

A new brief TMZ article features cute photos of Gabriel doting on Nahla and toying with her hair. They look so happy and comfortable together and you can tell that Gabriel adores his daughter. TMZ also has a few lines attributed to a source. This kind of sums it up for me:

We’ve learned Gabriel NEVER used chemicals on Nahla’s hair. It was all courtesy of a blow dryer. What’s more, we’re told Gabriel thinks Halle is being ridiculous and is just trying to keep the custody war going over nothing

That’s what many people were saying all along, and I tend to believe it.

I have to add that in the photo set on TMZ, Gabriel and Nahla are being photographed by a young brunette woman wearing an engagement ring. I was going to speculate that she could be Gabriel’s fiance but I checked out other photos of her out with Gabriel and Nahla and she looks more like a nanny type.

Halle Berry’s advice to keep the girls perky: ‘Always wear a bra, even to bed’

Halle Berry has some diverse side projects, most of which I don’t keep up with. Sorry! I know she has a perfume line, and now I know she’s relaunching an older lingerie line, Scandale Paris. Halle gave an interview to Yahoo about her takeover of the 82-year-old lingerie line – apparently, she’s going to make it more affordable, but the bras and panties are still going to be good-quality. In this interview, she talks a lot about what her “French husband” Olivier Martinez taught her about dressing, plus some boob advice.

How her French husband changed her: “I have definitely changed as a result of being married to a French husband. French women would not put their sweats on and run out to the market. So I care more about what I wear out of the house, because if not, he calls me out on it. [French women] put a lot of energy into their outerwear, but also their underwear. They’re not going to get caught in an emergency room without being prepared.”

Her mother’s boob advice: “She said if I don’t want my boobs to hit my knees by the time I’m 30, always wear a bra, even to bed.”

She’s not using her sex symbol image to move bras: “I don’t think I’m using my sex symbol image, if that’s what you want to call it, to sell the line. I’m not the model, so no I’m not trying to use that part of me at all.”

Aging in Hollywood: “I think both actors and actresses face this. It’s not just women. As an actor you face having to age and redefine yourself. The roles you were able to play before, you can’t play anymore. So you have to adapt and play a different role. And as actresses, we need to accept that we’re not always going to be the sexy ingenue, but hopefully we get better with age.”

Whether Nahla has seen her movies: “She hasn’t seen any of my movies, so she doesn’t quite understand what I do for a living. The beauty of our lifestyle is my daughter doesn’t see me as any different than anyone else. I try very hard to be like other mothers.”

Gossip about her private life: “I’ve learned that I can’t care about what people say about me because caring is too stressful and too hurtful,” she says. “It’s all just fodder and nonsense,” before reconsidering that her new role as an executive might mean that ugly incidents like a 2012 fight between Martinez and Aubry might affect her bottom line. “It can start to matter and affect you when you think about being a brand. People want know that they can trust you. But I’m happy to say none of the negative things that come from those people hiding behind their computers — I call them the haters — have permeated me through my career.”

I think it’s extremely cold to basically say that your husband isn’t going to physically assault your ex-boyfriend anymore because it will affect your business. Like, if Halle wasn’t trying to make herself into a household “brand,” then sh-t would still be going down with her custodial arrangement with Gabriel Aubry. That’s what she’s saying. I suppose that makes me a HATER.

As for the boob advice… I’ve heard that before. I feel like a lot of women of a certain age were told to do that, to wear a bra at all times, even while you’re sleeping. I HATE sleeping in bras, so that’s probably why my boobs don’t look as good as Halle’s.

Halle Berry wants her child support to Gabriel reduced from $16k to $3k a month

In June of this year, Halle Berry was ordered to pay $16,000 a month in child support to her ex, Gabriel Aubry, along with over $100,000 in missed child support payments. That amount was reduced from the $20,000 monthly child support she’d been court ordered to pay Aubry since 2012. (Of which she had missed about five months prior to that ruling.) Halle and Gabriel have one daughter together, Nahla, 6. They split in 2010 after five years together.

As you may remember, in late 2012 Berry launched a campaign to move to France with Nahla that was shot down by the custody judge. Shortly after that ruling, Berry’s then fiance, Olivier Martinez, got into a fist fight with Gabriel at Berry’s house during a custody handoff. That’s just background on Berry’s custody battle, which has been contentious and even violent at times. Anyway now Berry reportedly claims that Aubry doesn’t work at all and just lives off her child support so she wants to cut it way down.

Halle Berry has had it with baby daddy Gabriel Aubry … claiming he has been living ENTIRELY off child support, and she is asking a judge to STOP the gravy train.

TMZ has learned … Berry filed legal docs asking the judge in their custody case to reduce her monthly child support obligation from $16,000 a month to just over $3,000 a month.

Halle claims in her legal docs … Gabriel has stopped working and is content to live off of the child support, and that’s an abuse of the system.

She notes Gabriel is perfectly capable of getting a job … and by reducing the support it will allow 6-year-old Nahla to live a comfortable life … supplemented by his income.

Halle and Gabriel have joint custody … each has the kid around 50% of the time.

Aubry, 39, used to work as a male model so his shelf life is pretty limited despite his fame. I can understand why he’s not making what he once was and why Berry should pay him support. $16k a month sounds excessive to me, but they’re in LA and Nahla goes to private school. That number is based on Halle’s earnings, so both parents can afford the lifestyle the child is accustomed to. They share custody and Berry can definitely afford it.

Why is she aiming to cut child support down to just $3k a month though? Why not reduce it incrementally to about $12k a month? Maybe this is a legal move and the lawyers assume that the judge will reduce the amount but not by that much. We haven’t heard much from Halle recently. I’m surprised she hasn’t announced a breakup with Olivier.
