Melissa McCarthy recently showed off a 50-pound weight loss, but truth be told, she doesn’t really want to talk about it. “If that is the most interesting thing about me, I need to go have a lavender farm in Minnesota and give this up,” she told Refinery29. “There are so many more intriguing things about women than their butt or their this or their that. It can’t be the first question every time, or a question at all.” Regrettably, women today are still being scrutinized for their weight, and today, the actress took to Instagram to vent her frustration. She posted an image of a sign stuck to a mirror that reads, “WARNING: Reflections in this mirror may be distorted by socially constructed ideas of ‘beauty.'” Well said. In the caption, she included her own poignant message: “We have to stop categorizing and judging women based on their bodies. We are teaching young girls to strive for unattainable perfection instead of feeling healthy and happy in their own skin. ‘Imagine we are linked not ranked.’ Gloria Steinem” Looks like she’s ready to start a conversation, or more likely, end the one that’s been going on for far too long. The star is tired of women being valued solely for their bodies when they have so much more to offer. “We’re always being ranked and when we come together, you know, women are amazing together,” she said in a recent interview. “Women are friends. Women are not really competing with each other. I think everyone wants to make it seem that way with who wore it better, whose butt is better, whose glasses are crazier. WARNING: The following music video may cause you to get drool all over your keyboard. Proceed with caution. And maybe with a cold shower at the ready. Rihanna has dropped the official music video for the track "Kiss It Better" … and let's just say it's pretty clear after viewing just why Kim Kardashian doesn't want Kanye West to be talking to Rihanna any longer: Because she's really hot! The footage features Rihanna writhing under a sheet, only for a pair of dice to direct the audience to the part ths artist apparently wants kissed better. And these parts are not always the superstar's lips. If you know what we mean! The video was shot in black and white, which adds an artistic element to the sexy element, and it was helmed by director Craig McDean. At various points, Rihanna switches from her birthday suit to some VERY revealing lingerie, along with a black-and-white pinstriped suit. She's never looked better, to be honest. Taylor Swift’s friends think she’s definitely going to get engaged to Calvin Harris
Here are some photos of Taylor Swift and Lorde out in West Hollywood on Friday night. This is the most I’ve liked Taylor’s bob – it works better when she pushes her bangs to the side, right? They went out to The Nice Guy, a popular hotspot for the young and wealthy. Lorde still isn’t old enough to drink in America, so I wonder what she does when Taylor is sipping cocktails? Anyway, Swifty has been in LA for much of the year, ever since her tour ended. What’s nice is that her boyfriend Calvin Harris has also been camped out in LA, where he also has a home. Things seem to be going pretty well for them – they celebrated their one-year anniversary with a nice vacation, and there are many, many rumors that Taylor is thinking about marrying him. According to Grazia (via The Belfast Telegraph): “Before meeting Calvin she’d completely sworn off men and was focusing on her career,” an insider told Britain’s Grazia magazine. “The last thing she wanted was to get involved with another high-profile man but they just clicked. This is the most secure Taylor has ever felt. It’s not been easy getting there after everything she’s been through with her previous boyfriends but Calvin has proved over the last year that he’s The One.” Calvin spending Christmas (Dec15) with Taylor’s family in Colorado “sealed the deal” for both the stars, the source added. The couple have recently enjoyed some time alone together when they jetted to a tropical location for a much-deserved break. Now the pair’s pals are gearing up for an engagement announcement, with the general feeling that Taylor and Calvin will undoubtedly be walking down the aisle at some point in the future. “It definitely feels like that’s where it’s headed, but who knows how they’d find the time to plan a wedding,” the source smiled. “They had to move mountains to make their holiday work and their hectic schedules are a challenging obstacle when it comes to finding time for each other.
