Steve Harvey is sued for ‘defrauding charity

Steve Harvey is being sued by someone who claims he was defrauded millions of dollars from the TV mogul. Vincent Dimmock claims he was hired by Harvey to raise $20million for the Steve and Marjorie Foundation in exchange for 12.5 percent of whatever he brought in, according to TMZ. Dimmock claims that he got pledges for $20million in donations from high-level executives, A-list entertainers and political figures such as a former President. But when Dimmock delivered the first million, he claims Harvey refused to pay him his commission, according to the lawsuit. He says Harvey never intended to pay him for the work in the first place. In total Harvey would have owed Dimmock $2.7million. Dimmock also claims he introduced Harvey to an investor in May, and says that during the meeting he disparaged women and took aim at celebrities for his financial issues. He claims Harvey blamed his financial troubles on Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry for giving him bad advice. Demi Lovato Quits Social Media, Tells Trolls to GTFO

Demi Lovato may be Cool for the Summer. But she isn’t cool with a lot of the stuff being said about her and to her on social media. Following a string of insults and negativity on various platforms, Lovato surprised Twitter followers on Monday afternoon when she announced her departure from nearly all of social media. “Damn I gotta quit sayin s–t. Bye Twitter,” she wrote. “And Insta.” It’s unclear what, exactly, prompted this decision on Demi’s behalf. But she added that she will remain on Snapchat and made it clear that online haters have simply made Twitter and Instagram too unpleasant for her these days. “I like Snapchat cause I don’t have to see what some of y’all say,” she Tweeted. ” “Follow me if you want: theddlovato. But why do people actually give a f–k what I say?? Like if you don’t care the gtfo haha.” Lovato, who recently split from Wimer Valderrama after six years of dating, is one of our favorite celebrity follows. She keeps it real. She speaks her mind. She focuses on important issues. Multiple times in the past, Lovato has spoken out about such personal topics as her former cocaine use, hoping to use her mistakes and life story in order to help others. In early May, Lovato went on somewhat of a Twitter rant, even referencing her bipolar disorder during the diatribe. It wasn’t clear at that time, either, exactly what prompted the rant. That one time I started my own charity providing mental health care for people who can’t afford it and this is what y’all talk about. And people wonder what’s wrong with the world. Pay more attention to good than bad. It’s not really too hard to figure out what happened here. Lovato wants to assist those with mental illness. She wants to help people overcome their personal insecurities and substance abuse issues. And idiotic trolls likely just want to make fun of her body. Leonardo DiCaprio Takes Private Jet to Accept Environmental Award

This week, Leonardo DiCaprio was bestowed with a prestigious award for his environmental activism by New York nonprofit Riverkeeper. Awesome. Except that he arrived to the city via private jet. Maybe not so awesome. The actor was in France for the Cannes Film Festival when he jetted off to NYC, and then returned to the South of France the next day in another private jet. Needless to say, many fans weren’t thrilled, because that’s a lot of gas for just one dude. Nevertheless, DiCaprio’s rep explained that the Oscar-winner was due back in Cannes to speak at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala and had few options for transportation. “He was asked to speak at both Riverkeeper and amfAR events, but the only way to attend the two fundraisers was to hitch a ride with flights that were already planned,” the rep told Us Weekly. “Leo helped both events raise millions, donated his own funds, auctioned off his house and had speaking roles in both programs.” Yeah, but still. The optics. During the gala, DiCaprio auctioned off a stay at his Palm Springs home for $336,000, which benefitted the charity. DiCaprio dedicated a good portion of his acceptance speech at the Academy Awards this year to the subject of climate change. “Climate change is real. It is happening right now,” he told the audience. “It is the most urgent threat affecting our entire species.”  “We need to support leaders around the world… who speak for all of humanity… I thank you all for this amazing award tonight. Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take this award for granted.” After the speech, he received a standing ovation and the adoration of environmentalists everywhere.
