Emily Blunt and John Krasinski Welcome Second Child!

Move over, America. You now need to share your birthday with the offspring of one of our favorite famous couples. Sort of. Indeed, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski just welcomed their second child into the world! She doesn’t have the same birthday as the United States, but the world has now been made known about her existence on July Fourth. That’s kind of the same thing. “What better way to celebrate the 4th… than to announce our 4th family member!!!” Krasinski Tweeted this morning, adding: “2 weeks ago we met our beautiful daughter Violet #Happy4th.” The Girl on the Train star and The Office alum are already parents to a girl named Hazel. It’s too early to tell how little Hazel is adjusting to life as a big sister, but this is what Blunt told E! News about the prospect back in April: “She’s sort of coming around to it. “She sort of dismissed the idea initially and she just responded with, ‘Nope.’ ‘Nope,’ flat out! We’ve bought her every single ‘I’m a big sister’ book that’s out there and she’s a bookworm, so she’s coming around.” Blunt and Krasinski got married in 2010. A rep for the stars confirmed that the latter was expecting baby number-two in January; about a month later, Blunt debuted her baby bump at the 2016 Academy Awards. “The first pregnancy is the most self-indulgent thing in the world because you get massages and prenatal yoga and hypnotherapy CDs,” Blunt told C Magazine this spring. How so? “During this one I forget that I’m even pregnant. I’m hoisting my 2-year-old around!” she explained. We send our very best wishes to two stars who appear to be as normal as any couple in Hollywood.  Welcome to the world, Violet! View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Welcomed Babies in 2016

Emily Blunt & John Krasinski Welcome Daughter Violet

I’ve had a crush on Emily Blunt basically forever and I really love her and John Krasinski as a couple. I don’t know why, they just seem really cute together and I love them. They already have one child, a daughter named Hazel, and now Emily has given birth to their second child, another little girl they’ve named Violet. John shared the news via Twitter today, but they don’t actually have a July 4th baby — she was born two weeks ago. What better way to celebrate the 4th… than to announce our 4th family member!!! 2 weeks ago we met our beautiful daughter Violet #Happy4th — John Krasinski (@johnkrasinski) July 4, 2016 I think even the names they’ve chosen for their kids are cute, I can’t help it. They just seem like such genuinely nice, down-to-earth people from what I’ve seen of them (at least as far as celebrities go) and like they’re really in love and in a good place, particularly for a Hollywood romance. Congrats to them! The post Emily Blunt & John Krasinski Welcome Daughter Violet appeared first on Today's Evil Beet Gossip.

Taylor Swift & Tom Hiddleston were loved up in Rhode Island this weekend

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston prove the sparks are still flying this holiday weekend: https://t.co/NqiM32MNvL pic.twitter.com/lpRq28WR6b — E! News (@enews) July 4, 2016 As everyone predicted, Tom Hiddleston magically appeared in Rhode Island this weekend for Taylor Swift’s annual Fourth of July bash. This year’s attendees included Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Ruby Rose, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid and Uzo Aduba. No Selena Gomez? Hm. But whatever girl drama Swifty might have with her squad isn’t the story. No, the story is that even after a days-long “breather” from each other, Taylor and Tom are still in love. TIDDLES IS FOR REAL. The Daily Mail has the best/clearest photos of the beach party here. Tom Hiddleston declares his love for Taylor Swift with 'tattoo' and a t-shirt https://t.co/gC5gXzeoXu pic.twitter.com/AGjXzEL1EL — Daily Mail Celebrity (@DailyMailCeleb) July 4, 2016 Tom wore a “I HEART T.S.” t-shirt. Taylor wore an “America” bikini from Forever 21. They also had temporary tattoos with each other’s names/initials. I can already feel the Bump Watch happening with those photos of Taylor too. For what it’s worth, I examined her bump-area closely too. But I don’t think she’s knocked up. My gut says that she’s put on a few pounds (just a few, literally) because she’s not touring and she’s just on vacation. I will say this though: Taylor redid her boob job. She got a boob job several years back, but I’m now positive that she went and got them redone, with bigger, rounder implants. She has absolutely gone up a cup size at least. Meanwhile, there were some assorted tabloid/whatever stories this holiday weekend. *The Daily Mail ran a breakdown of Tom’s ancestral line, because why not? The DM did the same thing with Benedict Cumberbatch a while back, and you can see the DM’s Hiddles story here. *Tom wants to ignore all of the criticism TIDDLES has been getting. A source told Reveal Mag that “Tom’s been incredibly supportive. When this backlash started, she was worried he’d cut and run, but it’s been the opposite. He’s done wonders to cheer Taylor up, when this is exactly the sort of thing that would normally really upset her. He even made a joke about how they’re moving too fast, and he mock-proposed to her with one of those plastic kiddie rings you get from a bubblegum machine. She thought it was hilarious.” Jesus, are they BOTH 13 years old? *E! News has been running critical stories about Tiddles for more than a week. Critical as in “is this entire mess a showmance?” Well, E! spoke to Famously Single “dating coach” Laurel House to analyze the Tiddles romance. House thinks Swifty “finally broke her bad boy addiction. ‘Bad’ and ‘boy’ both being operative words. With Calvin, he was a good guy which prepared her for Tom, who is her man. Is it too fast? Is she flaunting it? Maybe! Maybe she’s not going about it the right way, but I do feel like this is authentic. She finally found what she needs: safe, sexy and seen.” I’ll say. Variety critic writes about Renee Zellweger’s face & now everybody’s mad

Last week, the second full-length trailer for Bridget Jones’s Baby dropped. I didn’t cover it because A) I didn’t think people would care and B) I found the second trailer even more depressing than the first trailer. While I am excited to see Renee Zellweger return to a celebrated and beloved role, as I see more of the plot, my excitement dies a little bit. I just think baby-daddy hijinks for a woman in her mid-to-late 40s is a bit much, honestly. Out of all the plot lines, they chose that? I understand that they’re basing it off Helen Fielding’s columns, but maybe they shouldn’t have waited so many years to make this one? Here’s the second trailer: So, yes, I have some complaints. At the heart of those complaints is just plain old disappointment though: the first Bridget Jones movie is as close to perfect as possible. It is arguably one of the greatest romantic comedies of all time. Renee was so good in it that she got an Oscar nom! But 15 years later, we’re getting this mess. And when one critic – Variety’s Owen Gleiberman – expressed his disappointment, he got into a world of trouble. Gleiberman wrote a piece called “Renee Zellweger: If She No Longer Looks Like Herself, Has She Become a Different Actress?” You can read the piece here. It’s supposed to be a “think-piece” about how Zellweger has changed her face so drastically that she’s no longer believable as Bridget Jones, and this guy is personally offended by that. He goes on at length about the pressures of society, and how Zellweger used to be pretty in a normal, believable, girl-next-door sort of way but now she doesn’t look like herself because of her very noticeable plastic surgery and he just goes on and on about it. So, obviously, Owen Gleiberman got slammed all over the place for being sexist and ageist. If we’re saying that this dude never would have written a long-winded, body-policing think-piece about how Russell Crowe is no longer believable as a leading man because of how HE looks and how HE is ageing, I can see that point, and I agree with it. That is sexist and ageist if we’re just going to go on and on about only the actresses. But… I also think that Gleiberman had a (albeit minor) point? If actors and actresses want to drastically change their looks through plastic surgery, so be it. Live and let live, and your body, your choice. But of course people are going to comment. And some of us even made similar comments when we first saw the set photos of Renee-as-Bridget, that “she doesn’t even look like Bridget” and “why does she look so different?” Of course none of us wrote long-winded hot-take think-pieces for Variety analyzing all of the many ways in which her face disappoints us personally. Why is it odd for Renée Zellweger to look slightly different than she did 15 years ago, but not odd for Kate Beckinsale to look identical? — Daniel Fienberg (@TheFienPrint) July 2, 2016 @Variety It's called aging, any by the way, everyone is doing it. Duchess Kate is spending more of Charles’ money on high-end clothes this year

2016 has brought us a “new and improved” Duchess of Cambridge, or so her PR would have us believe. Five years into her role as duchess, Kate is supposed to be feeling more comfortable in her royal role. We’re also supposed to believe that she’s successfully transitioned from her mass-market High Street looks to more expensive and sophisticated designer clothes. Personally, I don’t see much of a difference in her style in the past few years other than the price tags. Which I suspect is the point of this piece at the Daily Mail. While Prince Harry is shopping the bargain bins at Waitrose, Kate is spending her father-in-law’s money on undercooked cinnamon bun hats and doily dresses. She was once hailed ‘Queen of the High Street’ for championing mid-range clothes within reach of the average woman’s budget. But the Duchess of Cambridge has been re-crowned the ‘Designer Duchess’ after replacing her trusted Zara dresses and Topshop bargains with haute couture. Once a reluctant style icon, Kate –who famously wore a £50 blue Zara dress the day after her wedding – is now almost exclusively choosing high-end gowns, coats and shoes. And the 34-year-old’s new tastes do not come cheap. Much of her working wardrobe is paid for by the Prince of Wales, who funds William, Kate and Harry’s official activities. Royal accounts published last week show Charles’s ‘other expenditure’, which includes money spent on Kate and his sons, rose 9.5 per cent in a year to £3.2 million – although aides refused to specify how much of that went on Kate’s wardrobe. The transition has come with the help of an in-house tailor and her personal dresser, 29-year-old Natasha Archer, also based in Kensington Palace. The most expensive item Kate has been seen in this year was a £7,000 pale blue Catherine Walker coat dress, which she wore to the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral last month. While her clothes are now of a better quality, she is increasingly ‘recycling’ outfits she has worn before, including a £2,000 cream-coloured Alexander McQueen coat dress seen at Trooping the Colour in June. And she has finally ditched her trusty £145 LK Bennett court shoes in favour of pumps by Milan-based Gianvito Rossi, costing about £450. ‘Kate is wearing pricier pieces for semi-formal engagements,’ says Susan Kelley, editor of the website What Kate Wore. ‘We’ve seen her in three Dolce & Gabbana lace dresses in the past year which cost more than £6,000 in total. Now, almost all of her special occasion dresses are upscale, luxury labels.’ [From The Daily Mail] I understand that her wardrobe is supposed to be seen as a “years-long transition,” rather than an overnight change from middle-class girlfriend to high-end duchess. But what strikes me about Kate’s wardrobe is that you really can’t tell which pieces are high-end and which pieces are mass market, and I don’t mean that as a compliment. Some women – the Diane Krugers and Cate Blanchetts of the world – can make inexpensive clothes look rich. Some women – like Kate – make high-end pieces look mass-market. One of the biggest issues with Kate’s clothes is how much she’s spending on personalized tailoring, most of which is unneeded. Or worse yet, the tailoring actually screws up the look. And you have to look no further than her absolutely awful bespoke piece at the Battle of Somme centenary event last Friday to see that this is Kate’s (expensive) vision for how she’s supposed to look. All with Charles’ money! Photos courtesy of WENN, Fame/Flynet.

Khloe Kardashian complains about tabloid sexism, ‘double standards’

Here is Khloe Kardashian’s cover editorial for Glamour Mexico, the July issue. Can’t say I’m a big fan on the dark lipstick on Khloe – it emphasizes the extent to which she’s jacked her lips. Khloe has said that this cover shoot reminded her that she wants to take out her extensions and have short hair again, which I think she should do – I really loved her lob from late last year, and I thought it was super-flattering on her. Meanwhile, Khloe went off on a long-winded tirade about the tabloid interest in her love life, which…yeah, not so much. I have some residual affection for Khloe because I think she’s “the smart one” out of her family, but this essay (on her subscription app) was just dumb. She loves it when we’re paying attention to her love life. She loves it when we’re paying attention to her in any way. “The most annoying thing about tabloid rumors is the double standard. If I’m ‘spotted’ hanging with a guy at a party – even if I’m just saying hi for a quick second – it immediately becomes a negative headline about how many guys I’m dating or how I’m getting into a new relationship. Men don’t get that reputation! They get a pat on the back. It irritates me.” “People have taken pictures of me and say they’re proof of something concrete. Pictures are just moments in time. They never show the whole truth. In Hollywood, you could go out on a first date and it could spiral into this huge thing. The headline the next day is ‘Khloé’s Getting Married!’ LOL. It’s so weird. That stuff definitely makes it difficult to take it slow and see how things go.” “I normally don’t comment on those stories, but if it gets out of control, I’ll speak up – especially because that kind of gossip affects how people see me. A guy could assume I’m dating someone and not approach me, when I’m actually single.” “Sometimes I completely avoid going out in public with a new guy because I don’t want to deal with the sexist headlines. Too much drama for me!” [From People] “I don’t want to deal with the sexist headlines…” that come from the storylines written by Keeping Up with the Kardashians writers. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of sexism in the tabloids and in tabloid-driven narratives. But hearing a Kardashian complain about her tabloid coverage is like listening to Taylor Swift complain about being perceived as twee and boy-crazy. You are the one driving the narrative!!! Winona Ryder Says Johnny Depp Was “Never Abusive At All” Towards Her

I used to love Winona Ryder when I was a kid. I first saw her in Little Women when I was about 10, and obsessively watched everything else she was in, from Edward Scissorhands to Reality Bites and everything in between. She was an icon! Then I kinda lost sight of her until she got arrested for shoplifting and claimed she was “researching” a part, lolz. She’s recently made a comeback and she’s using that spotlight to defend ex Johnny Depp by insisting that Johnny was “never abusive at all” towards her. Everyone defines abuse differently, so there’s every chance that Johnny could have done some fucked up things during his four year relationship with Winona (which began when she was 17 and he was 26) that were definitely not OK. Or, there’s also every possibility that he did nothing at all during that time… which does not preclude Johnny from becoming the drunk and allegedly abusive (because yes, I have to give him benefit of the doubt since it hasn’t legally been proven, despite my personal opinion) asshole he later became. Here’s what Winona said in a new interview with TIME: “I can only speak from my own experience, which was wildly different than what is being said,” Ryder told Time. “He was never, never that way towards me. Never abusive at all towards me. I only know him as a really good, loving, caring guy who is very, very protective of the people that he loves.” “I wasn’t there. I don’t know what happened. I’m not calling anyone a liar. I’m just saying, it’s difficult and upsetting for me to wrap my head around it. Look, it was a long time ago, but we were together for four years, and it was a big relationship for me,” she said. “Imagine if someone you dated when you were – I was 17 when I met him – was accused of that. It’s just shocking. I have never seen him be violent toward a person before.” “It’s just hard to picture. The only word I can come up with is unimaginable. You know with certain people you hear something and go, ‘I can see that.’ But this isn’t that,” she continued. “I can only offer my own experience. It’s such a serious, horrible thing to be accused of.” Yes, it is a “serious, horrible thing to be accused of” — but it’s also a serious, horrible thing to do! Is Johnny innocent? Eh, I’d say there’s a slim chance. I don’t necessarily like her implication that immediately because Johnny never hit her, then Amber must be lying. After all, as Winona herself admitted, it was a long time ago – they broke up 22 years ago – and he’s a completely different dude now, marred by years of drugs and alcohol and time in general. Hardly fair to judge him on 1995 standards, eh? That being said, I’m obviously glad Winona didn’t experience abuse from Johnny. That’s one relief.
