Kim Kardashian goes OFF on Taylor Swift for endlessly ‘playing the victim’

Never let it be said that Kim Kardashian doesn’t know how to get the maximum amount of attention. She’s the master of “getting attention.” It is basically her only real skill. She can’t dance, sing, write, have an original thought, model or style herself. But she’s good at getting attention. First off, GQ released their full editorial and interview with Kim and the whole thing is crazy. The editorial is full-on porn and very NSFW, and you can see GQ’s full package here. As for the interview… Kim talks and talks and talks. But the conversation about Taylor Swift is amazing. Kim tells her version of events for the controversy around Kanye’s lyric: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why, I made that bitch famous / God damn / I made that bitch famous.” Kanye maintained from the very beginning that he sought and received Taylor’s approval for that lyric. Team Swifty always claimed that Kanye is a horrible monster who was once again trying to destroy Taylor. Kim’s version is AMAZING. Even more amazing? GQ got Taylor’s people to make an absolutely bonkers comment too!! Kim says Taylor’s deep emotional wound is nonsense—okay, she says it’s a lie—and that there’s video proof, because a videographer was actually filming their phone call. Why? Because Kim’s husband commissions videographers to film everything when he’s recording an album, for posterity (and possibly, one day, a documentary). And this is where it gets sticky. “She totally approved that,” Kim says, shaking her head in annoyance. “She totally knew that that was coming out. She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t. I swear, my husband gets so much sh-t for things [when] he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved.” Kim is on a roll now, speaking faster and more animatedly than at any other point during our time together. “What rapper would call a girl that he was rapping a line about to get approval?” Let’s stipulate here that Kim Kardashian West is not the kind of person who forgets that the tape-recorder light is blinking. But just because a rant is carefully chosen for its audience doesn’t mean it isn’t genuine. Swift, Kim insists, “totally gave the okay. Rick Rubin was there. So many respected people in the music business heard that [conversation] and knew. I mean, he’s called me a bitch in his songs. That’s just, like, what they say. I never once think, [gasping] ‘What a derogatory word! How dare he?’ Not in a million years. I don’t know why she just, you know, flipped all of a sudden.… It was funny because [on the call with Kanye, Taylor] said, ‘When I get on the Grammy red carpet, all the media is going to think that I’m so against this, and I’ll just laugh and say, ‘The joke’s on you, guys. I was in on it the whole time.’ And I’m like, wait, but [in] your Grammy speech, you completely dissed my husband just to play the victim again.” Were they in touch after that? “No. Maybe an attorney’s letter she sent saying, ‘Don’t ever let that footage come out of me saying that. Destroy it.’ ” She sent one? “Yeah.” I ask Kim how Taylor Swift’s people could have known about the footage, if Swift didn’t even realize she was being recorded in the first place. Kim tells me she isn’t sure, but she thinks someone from Team Kanye might have called someone from Team Taylor. “And then they sent an attorney’s letter like, ‘Don’t you dare do anything with that footage,’ and asking us to destroy it.” She pauses. “When you shoot something, you don’t stop every two seconds and be like, ‘Oh wait, we’re shooting this for my documentary.’ You just film everything, and whatever makes the edit, then you see, then you send out releases. It’s like what we do for our show.” GQ later contacted Kanye’s reps to inquire about the possible video footage and threat of legal action from Swift’s team. While Team Kanye asserted that Kanye and Taylor’s conversation had been filmed and that they had heard from her lawyers, they declined to provide further proof. A spokesperson for Taylor Swift declined to directly answer questions seeking clarification on the matter and instead provided the following statement, printed here in radiant completeness: “Taylor does not hold anything against Kim Kardashian as she recognizes the pressure Kim must be under and that she is only repeating what she has been told by Kanye West. However, that does not change the fact that much of what Kim is saying is incorrect. Kanye West and Taylor only spoke once on the phone while she was on vacation with her family in January of 2016 and they have never spoken since. Taylor has never denied that conversation took place. It was on that phone call that Kanye West also asked her to release the song on her Twitter account, which she declined to do. Kanye West never told Taylor he was going to use the term ‘that bitch’ in referencing her. A song cannot be approved if it was never heard. Kanye West never played the song for Taylor Swift. Taylor heard it for the first time when everyone else did and was humiliated. Kim Kardashian’s claim that Taylor and her team were aware of being recorded is not true, and Taylor cannot understand why Kanye West, and now Kim Kardashian, will not just leave her alone.” [From GQ] First let me say… Kanye and Kim do need to stop talking about this. Everyone else has moved on. I even believe the Kanye-version of events and I think he needs to move on. But the details provided here are just… incredible. Taylor’s lawyers trying to shut down footage of her approval of the lyrics, her manipulation of the situation to make it seem like Kanye was “humiliating” her again, and that epic clarification from her people? Bonkers. Oh, and the rest of the GQ interview is rather glorious. This is one of my new favorite Kim quotes: “All my friends and my sisters say, ‘You guys are so perfect for each other. There’s no one that would want to sit in your closet for hours with you and try on clothes.’” That’s probably true. GQ also mocks Kim’s “empire” in many ways, but even they have to admit that her empire (based on superficiality and vapidity) is making major bank. Kim also says she’s voting for Hillary, which we knew already. Photos courtesy of Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott/GQ.

Christina Grimmie Dead; The Voice Alum Was 22

Another rising star has left us too soon. Christina Grimmie, who placed in the top three on The Voice’s sixth season as part of Adam Levin’s team, has passed away on June 11th from gunshot wounds after performing at an Orlando, FL concert. Grimmie opened for the band, Before You Exit at Plaza Live.  While signing autographs after the performance, Grimmie was approached by a man with two guns, according to People. The man shot the singer, 22, before being tackled by her brother.  He then turned the gun on himself. “The show ended at approximately 10 o’clock,” Orlando Sgt. Wanda Miglio said during a news conference. “After that they were selling merchandise and signing autographs. We know that the suspect walked up and shot Christina at that point. We know that her brother tackled the suspect and that’s when the suspect shot himself.” “Her brother is a hero for saving and stopping him from not hurting anyone else.” According to WFTV, fans tweeted from inside the venue after hearing six gun shots. “It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord. She was shot at her show in Orlando, and unfortunately didn’t survive the gun shot wounds,” Grimmie’s rep told People in an official statement. “We ask at this time that you respect the privacy of her family and friends in their time of mourning.” A GoFundMe page has been set up to aid her family. NBC tweeted their devastation after hearing about the incident. “We are heartbroken,” the network wrote.  “@TheRealGrimmie is a loved member of our family. Our thoughts are with her and her family. #PrayForChristina.” The Voice judge Blake Shelton responded to the news as well. “Just reading the same stuff y’all are at this point,” Shelton tweeted. “Can’t believe this..” No other details about the gunman’s motive are available at this time. Brandi Glanville to Yolanda Foster: You Need to Get Some D—, Girl!

Yolanda Foster filed for divorce from husband David Foster in January, and her former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star Brandi Glanville thinks it’s time to get her groove back. In a new interview with People, Glanville shared a piece of advice she has for Foster. “I said, ‘Girl, you need to get out there and get some d!'” Glanville told the magazine. Girl has a point. But Foster wasn’t so into the idea. “And she was like, ‘No!’ So I said, ‘You can’t say that! I’m serious, it might make you feel better!'” she insisted.  “And she laughs at me. But she knows my intentions are good, I just say crazy sh*t,” said Glanville. At the moment, Glanville says, Foster is instead focused on overcoming her ongoing battle with Lyme Disease. “She’s not interested in men right now,” Glanville explained. “She’s interested in her mental health and that whole thing.” View Slideshow: 10 Craziest Moments in Real Housewives History Yeah. That “whole thing” can really get in the way of scoring some d. Glanville said she’ll be happy to serve as Foster’s wing woman once she’s ready, which would be a great show to watch. Meanwhile, Glanville is promoting her own reality show on VH1, Famously Single. Back in November, rumors swirled that Glanville was hooking up with Calum Best, her Famously Single co-star, but nothing seemed to come of it. Lately, folks have speculated that she’s involved with another co-star, Dean Sheremet. Glanville and Sheremet star together in another reality show (how many does she have?), My Kitchen Rules, but they are linked more famously for being cheated on respectively by Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes, who are now married. Wherever you’re getting it, Brandi, just be sure to use protection. View Slideshow: The 9 Richest Real Housewives in Bravo History

Becky Hayter: Who is Kailyn Lowry’s New Love Interest?

The ongoing soap opera that is Kailyn Lowry’s love life took an unexpected turn recently, when the the world learned that Lowry might be dating a woman. Sources close to the Teen Mom 2 star indicated that ever since she officially separated from Javi Marroquin, Kailyn has been spending a lot of time with a female friend named Becky Hayter. At one point, a video of Kailyn and Becky kissing surfaced on Lowry’s Instagram page. It was quickly deleted after the comments section exploded with speculation about Kailyn’s sexual orientation. But though the video wasn’t online for very long, Lowry replaced the clip with the image below and has not denied that she’s romantically involved with Hayter. Insiders have confirmed that Lowry dated several women during her adolescent years and earlier today the mother of two seemed to confirm her sexual fluidity, tweeting, “Do I have to be gay or straight? Can’t I just love people?” Little is known about Hayter, but she seems to be even less shy than Lowry about confirming that the romantic rumors are 100% true. In addition to re-tweeting Kailyn’s coming out tweet, moments ago Becky re-tweeted a fan who wrote, “I have to say @KailLowry & @hayter25 would make a bangin couple tho.” It’s not a direct confirmation, but it certainly seems Hayter is implying that she and Lowry are far more than just friends. Though she’s new to the public eye, Hayter doesn’t seem the least bit bothered by the, well…haters. She’s wisely opted not to engage with them on a one-to-one basis (Never feed the trolls, kids!), and she instead dismissed the more critical comments she’s been receiving with a tweet reading, “Do people not understand calling me a lesbian is not offensive?” Based on her Twitter page, Hayter seems like a woman who knows how to party and a staunch advocate for LGBT rights. In a word, she seems cool, which is more than can be said about most of the dudes that have come and gone from Teen Mom 2 over the years. It’s official: We’re ‘shipping these two. Long live Kaiter! Johnny Depp: Drunken Assault on Amber Heard Revealed?

On Friday, Amber Heard requested a restraining order against Johnny Depp, claiming that her estranged husband had violently assaulted her and left her with facial bruising and other injuries. Several of Depp’s high profile friends and exes expressed their skepticism about Heard’s version of events, with some even going so far as to accuse the actress of blackmailing Depp.  Heard’s attorneys responded by issuing a statement indicating that Heard plans to file assault charges against Depp. Her legal team now claims that she had only declined to do so on the night of the alleged attack in hopes of protecting “her privacy and Johnny’s career.” Now that Depp’s team has publicly accused her of lying, however, it seems that all bets are off. Not only will Heard be filing a police report that could result in serious criminal charges for the 52-year-old actor, her lawyers have claimed that the attack that took place last week (during which Depp allegedly struck Heard in the face with an iPhone) was not an isolated incident. So perhaps it’s no coincidence that sources supporting Heard have started coming forward with shocking allegations about Depp’s brutish behavior throughout the 15-month marriage: View Slideshow: Johnny Depp Domestic Abuse Allegations: Stars React “Johnny has been drunk for most of their relationship. He often wakes up drinking and he does not stop until he blacks out,” an insider close to the couple tells Radar Online.  Just two months after Depp married Heard, he was photographed with a cast on his hand that was reportedly the result of an accident on set. The source claims that was merely a story cooked up by Depp’s agency, and the reality of the situation was much darker: “The real reason Johnny broke his hand is because he tried to hit Amber and he hit a wall instead!” the insider says. “Johnny can be dangerous and unpredictable when he is drinking, and he was often drinking when they were together.” In court documents, Heard claimed that Depp was “barely ever sober” over the course of their marriage, and she filed a restraining due to her fear of what he may be capable of while intoxicated: “Amber was legitimately afraid for her life,” says the source. “The only reason that she is even taking legal action now is because she really believes that she was in danger.” View Slideshow: 15 Celebs Who Have Been Accused Of Domestic Violence

Cincinnati Zoo Parents May Be Charged in Connection to Gorilla Shooting

The fallout from this weekend’s tragic shooting at the Cincinnati Zoo continues. As previously documented, and as depicted in the video below, a four-year old boy fell into the gorilla enclosure at this famous facility on Saturday, May 28. After the gigantic animals grabbed hold of the boy and started thrashing him about, officials were left with no choice but to have an employee fatally shoot the gorilla, who was 17 years old and named Harambe. Was the animal protecting the toddler? Hurting him? About to cause him real harm? Watch the surveillance footage and try to decipher for yourself: Cincinnati Zoo Gorilla Killed to Save Toddler’s Life: Who’s to Blame? Debate has raged all over the Internet in regard to the incident, with critics wondering why the zoo could not simply use a tranquilizer on the gorilla. The zoo has responded by saying the tranquilizer would have taken too long to go into effect. Others have placed the blame squarely at the feet of the boy’s parents, specifically his mother, Michelle Gregg. In response to the criticism she has received online, Gregg posted (and then deleted) a Facebook message that referred to the situation as an “accident” and which thanked God for keeping her son safe. Celebrities from all walks of entertainment life have also weighed in on the death of Harambe: View Slideshow: Harambe Mourned, Celebrated by Celebrities Everywhere Now, sources have confirmed that Cincinnati police are looking into Gregg and Deonne Dickerson, the boy’s father, even though the latter was not at the zoo when his son fell into the gorilla pit.  Authorities are reportedly reviewing “the actions of the parents/family that led up to the incident,” according to TMZ, implying they may be charged with the crime of negligence. Do you think they ought to be? Or was this just a very unfortunate accident that has taken on a life of its own due to the Internet? An insider also says the Zoo is NOT under investigation of any kind. It falls under the jurisdiction of the United States Department of Agriculture.

Snoop Dogg wants people to boycott the History Channel’s ‘Roots’ miniseries

I did not watch the History Channel’s miniseries reboot of Roots. The miniseries began last night, and it continues over four nights. The original miniseries – also based on Alex Haley’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book – was groundbreaking television when it was made in 1977. It was one of the most-watched television events in American history and it became a national talking point in a larger conversation about race and civil rights in America. The History Channel’s reboot (or “reimagining”) of the miniseries with a whole new cast is supposed to be reflective of our current conversation about race in America, about Black Lives Matter, about violence against black bodies and more. But some people are just tired of watching movies and miniseries about slavery. One of those people is Snoop Dogg. Snoop Dogg has no plans to watch the Roots remake, and he’s telling his fans to also boycott the show. The rapper sent out his message over social media on Monday. “I’m sick of this sh-t. How the f— are they going to put Roots on, on Memorial Day?” Snoop said in an Instagram video. “They going to just to keep beating that sh-t into our heads about how they did us, huh?” The History channel’s revival is a four-part, eight-hour series that debuts Monday. Snoop said he has no interest in new shows and movies — specifically mentioning 12 Years a Slave — that “keep showing the abuse we took hundreds and hundreds of years ago.” “I ain’t watching that sh-t, and I advise you motherf-—ers as real n— like myself; f— them television shows,” Snoop said. “Let’s create our own shit based on today, how we live and how we inspire people today. Black is what’s real. F— that old sh-t.” [From THR] Snoop Dogg, social critic. Is it weird that I think he has a completely legitimate point? The most recent example is the 2013-14 awards season, where 12 Years a Slave dominated and Fruitvale Station was ignored. While I thought 12 Years was a powerful piece of filmmaking and a film full of incredible performances, why was it pushed for awards while Fruitvale largely ignored? Fruitvale was a modern story (and a true story, like 12 Years) of brutality on black bodies. Both were important films that said important things. But Hollywood likes to reward films and miniseries about slavery and white saviors and downtrodden historical black folks. They don’t want to reward modern stories about the African-American experience, with multifaceted African-American characters operating in a multiethnic and morally ambiguous context. Here’s Snoop’s video. NSFW for language. Message ????? A video posted by snoopdogg (@snoopdogg) on May 30, 2016 at 8:55am PDT Photos courtesy of WENN.
