Glenn Close & Husband David Shaw Have Divorced

Love is hard for all of us, but it’s REALLY hard for people in Hollywood, it seems. Glenn Close and husband (and biotech entrepreneur) David Shaw managed to make it nine years, but now their relationship is over and the pair have divorced. This was Glenn’s third marriage. A spokesperson for Close confirmed the split to PEOPLE on Wednesday, and the decision to divorce is said to have been made amicably. Close, 68, and Shaw wed in 2006 in a small, private ceremony in Maine. The couple had resided in Scarborough, Maine. Well, fair enough – at least it’s not messy. Glenn was single for about 20 years before marrying Shaw, and she’s always made it a point to talk publicly about the importance of her independence and how she never wanted to rely on a man because she considers them a completely different species. Something tells me she’ll be just fine as a badass single lady. She’s just been announced to star in the revival of Sunset Boulevard in London, too – she’ll be playing Norma Desmond, which sounds amazing and I totally want to see it. Sarah Jessica Parker Got Sent A Treadmill By A Producer

We all know there’s an insane amount of pressure on women in Hollywood to be stick thin and aesthetically pleasing, so it’s never surprising (though it is vaguely depressing) to hear that an actress has been told to lose weight or encouraged to be unhealthy to keep a svelte frame. However, one of the most ridiculous stories of this vein I’ve ever heard has to be from Sarah Jessica Parker, who has revealed that she was once sent a treadmill by a producer so she could “stay fit”. Now, anyone who’s ever laid eyes on SJP knows one thing: homegirl is TINY. And more than that, she’s muscular as shit. She grew up as a ballet dancer and just has that toned, taut frame that most women would kill for. In other words, she’s literally the last person on earth who should ever need encouragement to “stay fit” (not that it’s EVER appropriate, but I’m trying to get into the minds of the film industry execs who thought this bullshit up). SJP was being interviewed on Sirius XM Radio Andy’s My Favorite Song w/ John Benjamin Hickey on Wednesday when she recalled the awkward incident: “I was about to do Honeymoon In Vegas and before that I was off to do another movie in Iowa,” Parker, who was 27 at the time, recalled. “The producer of Honeymoon In Vegas was very concerned about me being fit for Honeymoon In Vegas. So they sent a treadmill to Iowa.” “Are you kidding me?” Hickey responded as the Sex And The City star added: “Dead serious.” In preparation for her bathing suit, Parker fondly remembered working out to the C+C Music Factory anthem [“Everybody Dance Now”]. “I would very diligently go out every single day and run like a lunatic to this song. And then when I went to Iowa, on the treadmill, I would continue to run to the song,” she said. “And then we went to Vegas and I had a treadmill also in my room and I would get up every morning and run.” This is so embarrassing on the behalf of that producer. Not surprising, but embarrassing as hell. Follow us on Twitter | Facebook The post Sarah Jessica Parker Got Sent A Treadmill By A Producer appeared first on Today's Evil Beet Gossip.

Sam Smith Teases ‘Spectre’ Theme Song “Writing’s On The Wall”

I have to say, I used to love Sam Smith. I adored “Latch”, the song he did with Disclosure, which was the first I (and much of the world) had ever heard of him. But somewhere along the line, the screechiness of his voice started driving me absolutely bonkers, and now I can’t stand listening to him for more than a few minutes. I have no idea why it happened – he’s certainly talented and has a great voice – it just makes my ears bleed these days. With that in mind, you probably won’t be surprised that I wasn’t all that thrilled to hear he would be singing the theme song to the new James Bond movie, Spectre. To tease everyone, Sam released a tiny snippet of “Writing’s On The Wall” on his Twitter page this week. The one problem? There are no lyrics to it or any vocals at all – it’s just the opening 15 seconds of instrumental music, which seem to fit pretty well with the Bond theme. It’s a huge dramatic orchestral number that will go perfect with the movie… at least that’s what it seems like from what we’ve heard so far. What do you think of Sam doing the Bond theme song? Are you excited for Spectre? 4 days!! http://t.co/LYGQePI8Cm Thanks to everyone pre-ordering, can't wait for you to hear 'Writing's On The Wall' https://t.co/nEYRMK8qif — SAM SMITH (@samsmithworld) September 21, 2015 Follow us on Twitter | Facebook The post Sam Smith Teases ‘Spectre’ Theme Song “Writing’s On The Wall” appeared first on Today's Evil Beet Gossip.
