Calvin Harris believes Taylor Swift started up with Tom Hiddleston in February

This weekend, The Sun had an interesting and insider-y story on Taylor Swift, Tom Hiddleston and Calvin Harris. Think back for a moment to the glory days of early June. When Taylor and Calvin first split up, most of us gossip-watchers knew that there be would drama, because Tay and Calvin are equally petty and juvenile. But back then, did we know that it would get THIS bad? Did we know that Calvin and Taylor’s teams would be sniping back and forth at each other over whether Taylor cheated, etc? I don’t think anyone could have predicted this. The gist of this Sun piece is that Team Calvin says Taylor was likely screwing around with Tom for months before they went public. Team Taylor says Calvin was a sh—ty boyfriend anyway, so what does any of it matter? You can read the full piece here. Some highlights: Calvin is going for the jugular. Calvin’s history with Rita Ora is being used against him: Calvin did damage to Ora’s career after she cheated on him and they broke up, and now sources claim he’s doing the same thing with Swift. A source said Calvin felt “emasculated” and “It was a secret that she wrote the song. The secret came out and her rep confirmed it and that pissed him off. He went for the professional jugular with Rita Ora and it seems he’s doing the same again. The way he handled the split up with Rita and was angry about that was going for the professional jugular, and it seems he’s doing the same again. You don’t kill someone’s career. That’s one step too far. That killed her album, not letting her release any of the stuff they produced for it. It takes two years to put an album together, and then to be left with no tracks? Everyone’s saying, ‘Where’s the music from Rita?’ It’s not good.” Calvin wouldn’t attend the Grammys with Taylor. “There isn’t a better award you can get than a Grammy Album of the Year. It’s the ultimate accolade you can receive as a musician. If you’re the kind of guy who doesn’t want to stand by your woman on an important night like that then you’ll also be the kind of guy that gets a bit pissed off when your woman’s getting toasted for the biggest track of your career for the past five years. Taylor was furious and hated the way he never wanted to attend award shows and big music industry events with her. It was a Sunday night in LA and she felt he could have slipped away for a couple of hours to be with her.” Tiddles was happening in February? The Sun’s sources claim Calvin Harris believes that Taylor met Tom back in February and they were sort of carrying on for months behind Calvin’s back. Calvin is also pissed that Taylor only spent one day taking care of him in May following his car accident on May 20. A source says: “Taylor’s true colours are coming out. The truth is she met Tom in February and things are moving very quickly. She had vacated her relationship with Calvin way before she let on.” Calvin won’t be played by Swifty. “Calvin only tweeted to defend himself. He has been nothing but lovely to Taylor, even publicly wishing her well, despite her fast romance with Tom. He was angry because Taylor had made it sound like he had been trying to hide her input on the song — when it was her who insisted they kept her writing secret all along.”. [From The Sun] Before a flame war starts flaming, let me just say that I think both sides (Team Calvin and Team Swifty) were well-represented in this piece, meaning that both Calvin and Taylor’s PR people and friends are engaging a thorough tit-for-tat. It’s not a case of “poor Taylor, Calvin is being so mean!” Nor is it “poor Calvin, Taylor is so powerful!” They’re both fighting. They both care. They both have an axe to grind. I do think the fact that Calvin didn’t come to the Grammys with Taylor was the beginning of the end for their relationship. I also think that there was overlap between the “the end of Calvin and Taylor” and “the beginning of Tiddles.” And as I keep saying… Calvin and Taylor are so well-matched, it really is a shame they couldn’t make it work. I updated yesterday’s post as news kept coming in, but it’s worth discussing all of the crap that happened after TMZ reported – based off of what they were being told from sources close to Taylor Swift – that Swifty was the one who wrote Calvin Harris’s hit song “This Is What You Came For,” which features vocals by Rihanna. As it turns out, the conspiracy theory/rumor was and is absolutely true. Taylor’s rep confirmed it to People Magazine yesterday, saying: “Taylor Swift wrote ‘This Is What You Came For’ under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg.” People Mag also ran what amounted to a confirmation of TMZ’s earlier reporting, that Taylor was very hurt when Calvin said he didn’t want to collaborate with her after they had already collaborated. So what was Calvin’s reaction to Team Swifty running to the press to correct the record? He got on Twitter and dragged her. And those Calvin sources say Taylor is “acting like he’s only got one hit song. Tom Hiddleston & Taylor Swift fly into LAX: is Tom ‘tired’ of all the photo-ops?

The Great & Glorious Tiddlebanging of 2016 has NEW PHOTOS. And they are pretty great photos, let me tell you. Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston were photographed at LAX last night, flying into LA from the East Coast. Tom and Taylor presumably were flying in from Rhode Island, which is where they were for the Taymerica Fourth of July celebrations. What’s interesting about these photos… well, SO MUCH is interesting. Reportedly, they are en route to Australia, where Tom will be filming Thor: Ragnarok. There were some theories floating around that The Glorious Tiddlesbang party would be over as soon as Tom left for Australia. But look! Tay-Tay is coming with him, maybe! She doesn’t have anything to do this summer, honestly. Her tour is over, she doesn’t have an album to promote, all she has to do is write and record music, which she’s probably doing as we speak anyway. They have recording studios and producers in Australia! What else is interesting? Tom does seem protective of Taylor, in that boyfriend-esque way. This is their airport debut, and their body language seems fine. He even put his arm around her as they made their way through LAX (with her bodyguards in tow). In other Glorious Tiddlesbanging news, The Daily Mail made a big deal about how Taylor had a professional photographer documenting all of the “fun” and “spontaneity” at her Taymerica party. I’m not bothered by the idea of Taylor hiring a professional photographer to document the party – considering how much thought and money went into the party, it would have been strange if she hadn’t hired a photographer. But what’s weird is the dissemination of the professional photographer’s photos via the squad’s Instagram accounts. That reveals Machiavellian levels of image-control. And here’s my last thing: Even Tom Hiddleston is getting sick of the social media sensation that is #Swiddleston. Sources tell us that Taylor Swift is a “clingy girlfriend” and she initiated all the photo-ready displays of affection at her July Fourth extravaganza. The snaps show the pair frolicking in the sea and on the beach. Our spy even noticed a camera-fatigued Hiddleston sneaking off for a beer with some guys. “He seems to get tired of the endless Instagram photo opps after, like, the third hour in the water,” sniffed an insider. Taylor Swift ‘feels completely free to be herself’ when she’s with Hiddles

At this point, I’ve lost count of how many media outlets are openly questioning Tiddles. If Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift wanted their new love to look authentic and realistic, they’ve done a terrible job. If their relationship is supposed to be the biggest conspiracy of the summer (nay, the year!), then they’ve succeeded. E! News keeps running pieces about how and why Tiddles is all for show. Multiple outlets keep claiming that Tom is just doing all of this to campaign for James Bond, which makes zero sense. And now there are reports that Tiddles is taking a short breather, than Taylor has flown back to America and Tom is laying low in London. But as I asked yesterday, will they reunite for the Fourth of July? Taylor loves to host big Independence Day parties and post all of the photos to social media. Speaking of social media, Taylor and Tom have been mostly absent from their social media accounts since their love-bomb. Will this holiday weekend bring the first Tiddles-on-Instagram photos? God, I hope so. I hope Hiddles gets in the swan float. PLEASE??? What else? A million bulls—t stories, honestly. The Sun claims that Tom is now “in the running” to replace Calvin Harris as the bulge of Armani underwear. That’s following Tom’s sad W Magazine editorial? Yikes. Of course, other dudes on the shortlist include Joe Jonas (??), Chris Pine and Liam Hemsworth. If Tom ends up with an Armani contract, I will laugh and laugh. Hollywood Life also claimed that Taylor is currently writing songs about how she’s never felt love like this before. A source tells Hollywood Life: “When she’s with Tom, she feels completely free to be herself and doesn’t feel like she has to hold anything back. Tom really encourages her to be as authentic and as true to herself as possible. She feels like he really values her feelings and her opinions. He’s incredibly supportive and she feels more confident within herself. She now wants to take that same confidence and apply it to her music and to her songwriting. With Tom, she feels like she can do anything, that anything is possible. She’s never felt this way before with anyone. She’s on cloud nine.” [From Hollywood Life] Of course she’s on cloud nine… for now. Soon enough, it will be all tears and accusations and real-estate-stalking. But this story brings me to another point: can Taylor Swift write music about being happy and in love, or is she like Adele in that her best songs are about being heartbroken? What does Taylor Swift’s Love Album sound like? Who even knows? As for the LOVE, the NYDN’s horoscope person analyzed Tom and Taylor’s signs and found that they’re actually well-matched. Tay’s a Sagittarian and Tom’s an Aquarian, which means “they are career focused, but what’s fabulous for these two is that they have a mutual respect for each other’s goals, and the difference they want to make in the world through their careers.” LOL. Does Taylor Swift even care about Kanye West’s gross ‘Famous’ video?

As we discussed on Sunday, Kanye West dropped his music video for “Famous” late Friday night. He premiered it like a movie, then streamed it on Tidal. You can see the very, very NSFW clip here. The video included wax-figures or look-alikes of everyone from Donald Trump to George W. Bush to Taylor Swift and Rihanna. It was and is a huge mess. But something funny happened after the video dropped… beyond internet commenters, no one really cared. Kanye even went on Twitter and begged people to sue him. But there’s barely been any reaction besides a lot of shrugs. It’s been more than 36 hours since Kanye West debuted his anticipated “Famous” music video and the rapper has so far been met with mostly silence from the celebs he included in the NSFW clip. He had premiered the clip Friday night at a massive fan event at the L.A. Forum, where he was joined by wife Kim Kardashian and other family members and friends. Both he and Kim are also featured nude in the video, lying in bed with naked people resembling former President George W. Bush, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, Rihanna, her ex Chris Brown, Kim’s ex Ray J, Kanye’s ex Amber Rose, Kim’s mom’s ex Caitlyn Jenner, Bill Cosby and yes, Taylor Swift . As of Sunday morning, neither have most of the stars shown in the clip. Chris Brown, however, who doesn’t appear to be bothered by it. “Why I gotta have the plumbers butt / crack showing WAX figure?” he wrote on Instagram, adding a string of smiley faces. “This n—a KANYE CRAZY, talented, but crazy.” In addition, an aide for Bush told Us Weekly, “That’s not him.” Meanwhile, Kanye took to Twitter Saturday to post, “Can somebody sue me already #I’llwait.” He later deleted the tweet. [From E! News] Amber Rose didn’t even say anything! And while “sources” claim that Taylor Swift is beyond pissed about her “inclusion” in the video, she still hasn’t said anything about it, nor has she leaked any quotes to People, Us Weekly or E! News. The only site claiming to have some insight on what Taylor is thinking is Hollywood Life! So take it with a grain of salt: “Taylor is livid. Taylor is horrified [by the ‘Famous’ music video]. Taylor didn’t know what to do when she heard about what Kanye did. She is bewildered, feels betrayed and is beyond frustrated with Kanye. It is like a complete nightmare. Taylor is pissed to say the least!” [From Hollywood Life] While I imagine Taylor is horrified, along with the rest of the people included in Kanye’s art project, I do think it’s smart that no one is engaging Kanye. That’s what will hurt him more than any lawsuit or statement: ambivalence. Apathy. A shrug. When no one even cares enough to sue, that’s a problem on Kanye’s end. I hope I’m not overselling this, but HUZZAH, finally some paparazzi wandered down to Nashville to get some photos of Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift. I’ve actually been waiting for this for a week and a half! While the original Tiddles photo-op in Rhode Island was super-obvious, it was also pretty obviously exclusive to one paparazzo, in that Taylor totally staged the photos. But her usual M.O. with her boyfriend-rollouts is to go somewhere public, populated and pap-friendly with her new boyfriend so that everyone can get shots. And that’s what we have now! After Tiddles spent Tuesday night at a Selena Gomez concert and spent Wednesday night having an “intimate dinner” at a steakhouse, what was on deck for Thursday? A whole day spent with Taylor’s family, it seems. Tom and Taylor were photographed out and about in Nashville with her parents and some other people, maybe Taylor’s brother? They visited the Country Music Hall Of Fame, then went to lunch and did some shopping. Then Taylor took Tom for dinner at Adele’s restaurant with some of her girlfriends. The photos are pretty amazing, right? They certainly seem… something. Well-connected, maybe? Especially since they’ve only been together for a few weeks? Also, there’s been a lot of commenting on Taylor’s bust in all of these photo-ops. Swifty had a boob job several years back, and some have been wondering if she treated herself to a size upgrade, perhaps after her split with Calvin Harris. While I do think she’s looking “fuller,” I don’t think the timeline makes sense as far as post-surgical healing. So did she get a bolt-on upgrade or is she just wearing hugely padded bras? Rick Astley never gave us up – and tops the British charts once again

In “What year is this?” news, Rick Astley has a number one album – in his home country of England. The singer, now 50, just hit the charts with his comeback album, titled 50. Well, naming your album after your current age worked for Adele. Apparently, this tactic also proved successful for Rick. You young whippersnappers may only know Rick from the internet phenomenon known as “Rickrolling,” where pranksters would tempt you to click a link only to be taken to a video for Rick’s 1987 hit “Never Gonna Give You Up” (still a damn catchy tune if you ask me). The prank garnered Rick over 70 million views of the song’s video on YouTube and led to a surprise appearance at the 2008 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. England’s Telegraph complied some fun facts about Rick that are worth a read. He was kind of a big deal. The singer retired in 1993 to raise his daughter and now, 23 years later, Rick is back with a vengeance. The new album beat out Paul McCartney and popular British singer Tom Odell to take the top spot. The first single off of the album, “Keep Singing”, shows off Rick’s still soulful pipes, and the singer still has the youthful looks he rocked back in the 80s. Yes, I admit, I fangirled out a little when I saw this video. He’s still a cutie. Rick, who thought the whole Rickrolling thing was “hilarious” is slightly surprised about the success of his comeback album. He recently told the Daily Mail, “It’s all a bit bonkers. I am not allowing myself to believe that it is all happening. This time last year, I would have laughed at the thought of being number one again. And I almost didn’t care whether it hit the top or not. Because it is just fantastic to be here.” Sadly, we US Rick fans will have to wait until October 7th to download the album, which is available for pre-order on iTunes. I think it’s awesome that Rick is back. I always thought he was a great singer. I do like “You Move Me” better than “Give You Up,” but he was part of the soundtrack of my college years and I’m glad to see him again. With 80s classics like Ghostbusters coming back to the big screen – along with rumored remakes of Overboard, War Games and Police Academy, it’s kind of inevitable that we’re ready to welcome some of the decade’s more memorable voices back to the airwaves (or streaming services – I’m not that old).
