Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck’s divorce off: ‘a few weeks ago, things changed’

US Magazine has a new article on the sidebar this week letting us know about the state of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s relationship, because we really needed another update after the sidebar on the cover of People last week. Every day I wonder how they’re doing, if they’re still a couple, if Ben is off cavorting with random women on yachts in Canada or both because you know those two things are not mutually exclusive. Jen knows it too on some level, but she may have stuffed it deep down where she keeps her knowledge of fashionable shoes because US is reporting the divorce is now off.

In fact, talk of divorce has ceased altogether, sources reveal in the new issue of Us Weekly.

“Jen mentioned that the divorce was going through very soon, and then a few weeks ago, things changed,” says a source close to Garner. “It does not seem to be moving in that direction.”

The Justice League actor, 43, and actress, 44, are cohabiting in their $17.5 million, five-bedroom mansion, albeit in separate bedrooms. Garner revealed in the March issue of Vanity Fair that she sleeps with their oldest daughter, Violet; Affleck bunks in the guest room, according to a close source.

“Jen seems to still be in love with Ben but doesn’t allow her mind to go there,” says the Garner pal. “She just focuses on the kids.”

The man down the hall is also having trouble letting go. “If it was up to Ben,” adds a second insider, “they would be together. He feels like he can’t live without Jen.”

Still, an Affleck source insists lawyers are hammering out the details of their divorce privately. “They were never in a rush to file. This was always the plan…

“They want their kids’ lives to go on as uninterrupted as possible,” says a source.

Some people will say US is making this up, but this is consistent with People’s report last week, and as I usually mention, US had Garner’s side of the divorce along with exclusive details from their relationship and breakup vacation, where Garner figured out Affleck was sleeping with their kids’ nanny. (I would like to get an update from Ouzounian, but I bet she signed an ironclad NDA.) So Affleck wanted to get back with Garner and she’s letting him stick around until the next time he publicly embarrasses her. Maybe she figures if he keeps him on notice he’ll be faithful, at least by outside appearances.

Willow Smith, 15, is Chanel’s latest brand ambassador: great choice or meh?

Back in 2010, Jada and Will Smith seemed hellbent on forcing their kids to act like adults and have adult-sized careers. Willow began a music career, and Jaden began an acting career. While Jaden has continued with his public life, Willow has spent much of the past five years or so taking a step back. Reportedly, she was the one to tell her dad that she just “wanted to be a kid” for a while rather than a celebrity/singer/model/whatever. Well, now at the tender age of 15, Willow is re-entering public life.

These photos are of Willow and Jada at the Chanel show during Paris Fashion Week this week. Willow and Jada were invited to sit front-row at the show because Willow is now the newest face of Chanel, as she has just been named the latest “brand ambassador” for 2016. Willow joins a long list of famous Chanel brand ambassadors, including at various times Blake Lively, Gig Hadid, Lily-Rose Depp, Kendal Jenner, Cara Delevingne, etc. I actually think it’s smart to start diversifying the ambassadors these days, so at least there’s that. The Chanel press release simply read: “Karl Lagerfeld has chosen Willow Smith as a new CHANEL ambassadress.”

Personally, I don’t hate it (but I don’t love it either). It’s not as offensive to me as Jaden Smith being hired to front a campaign for Louis Vuitton womenswear, mostly because I am unclear as to whether Willow will actually be doing print ads for Chanel. I think brand-ambassadors just have to wear Chanel to big events and go to like two runway shows a year. But if Willow’s growth spurt tells us anything, it’s that she might make modeling her newest career.

Incidentally, Willow is wearing a Chanel catsuit/wetsuit in these photos. She looks like a superhero! I absolutely loathe the shoes and the eye makeup though.

Nicky Hilton married James Rothschild in a royal-inspired ceremony: lovely?

Nicky Hilton is officially a Rothschild. These are photos of Nicky and James on Thursday, the day before their wedding. Nicky spent her entire wedding week wearing shades of white, and she even flashed her cheeks at Paris fashion week, which is fine because she was wearing the purest of colors. James proposed in August 2014 at Lake Como after three years of dating, so he knew he wasn’t marrying into the classiest family. These two well are financially well-matched, since James is heir to a banking fortune. James also seems like a traditional guy. He flew from his England home to the States to ask the Hiltons for Nicky’s hand in marriage a full month before he proposed.

The Friday wedding was a full-on event. Nicky and James married at the Orangery inside Kensington Gardens, and Us Weekly says the bridal registry totaled $28,000 (which includes $5,000 lamps). Guests included Chelsea Clinton, Kate Beckinsale, and Dorothy Wang. Nicky wore a custom-made, royal-inspired Valentino dress that cost $77,000. This dress feels like the less elegant cousin of Duchess Kate’s wedding dress, right? So much bubbly lace, but it’s more demure than I expected for Nicky.

Something amusing (and slightly disastrous happened) as Nicky left Claridge’s hotel for the wedding venue. Her absurdly long veil got trapped under the wheel of a Bentley. That had to leave a mark.

Paris and Kathy Hilton both wore ~~white~~ pale blue. Paris can’t stop herself from pose-harding at any given moment, even during her sister’s wedding.

After the wedding, Nicky changed back into her usual Hilton attire.

Kim Kardashian wears a pink-nude netted dress in Paris: gross or cute?

Here are even more photos of Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and Kris Jenner out and about for Paris Fashion Week. These photos are from Kim’s costume change for the Lanvin show. I’m sure Kim is actually wearing Lanvin to the show (that’s customary), but she has a real knack for making high-end couture look like hooker-wear purchased at the Goodwill. This lovely Fisherman’s Ho dress probably cost $4000.

As you can see, she wasn’t wearing a bra. She was spilling out all over the place too. Kanye loved it. He loves when his Kardashian Real Doll looks like a drugged-out p0rn star. He really does love it – he’s being really affectionate with her in many of the Paris photos. It makes me think that he asked her to go blonde. Why is he obsessed with that?

I saw on E! News last night that the Kardashian-Jenner clan has been facing utter pandemonium in Paris. When Kim and Kanye left their hotel yesterday, the crowd was so big and rowdy, it took a full ten minutes for their car to move through the crowd. I also saw some awful footage of Kendall Jenner being swarmed by SO MANY people. What’s up, Paris? Why do you guys love the Kardashian-Jenner-Wests?

Kim Kardashian: North West ‘will have to work for what she wants’

This ^^ is the new cover of The Standard’s ES Magazine. That’s Kim Kardashian. It’s a terrible cover, I know, and that oversaturated red makes my eyes hurt. I have good quotes from the magazine, but first: where in the world are Kim and Kanye? As it turns out, Kanye planned a “surprise getaway” for Kim’s 34th birthday. He took her to Maui! That’s actually really sweet. I wonder if North was invited though? Hm. Here’s how Kanye celebrated Kim’s b-day (it was on Tuesday) on Twitter:

Call me a Yeezington apologist, but I think he genuinely loves her. I know, I know. I’m a big softie. I’m not saying he wouldn’t yell at her if she was in a wheelchair, I’m just saying… he seems to adore her. Anyway, as for those ES Magazine quotes… Kim talked about how North wasn’t going to be super-spoiled and she would grow up working for what she wants:

Kim Kardashian says her daughter North will have to find a job and pay her own way when she is older — just like she did. The reality TV star, who is married to rapper Kanye West, says despite her family’s wealth she worked at a clothes shop when she was at school. Kardashian, 34, said she used to save up her wages for treats and would like her daughter to “work for what she wants” too.

In an interview with ES Magazine, to be published in full tomorrow, she said: “I saved up for this Dolce & Gabbana dress I really wanted, or like in high school these Prada shoes that my parents wouldn’t buy me. And I remember they were $400, and I had to save for the entire year to get them … We didn’t get anything [from her parents], we had to get a job if we wanted it. So I was working in a clothing store and I would save and save.”

She added: “I was saying that earlier to my friends, ‘I wonder what [North’s] first job is gonna be’. And they were like, ‘What? She’s gonna have a job?’ and I was like, ‘Are you kidding me? Of course she is’. She will have to work for what she wants.”

North, who is 16 months old, has already started modelling for Vogue and CR Fashion Book. Last month she was on the front row of Paris Fashion Week with her parents. Asked what she thought North might do when she is older, Kardashian replied: “I don’t know. She loves fashion. Maybe she’ll be a designer. Who knows? It’s too early to tell.”

Kardashian said North also likes her father’s music, which she said she uses to rock her to sleep. She added: “The best is when Kanye’s recording in the home and we’re in Mexico or whatever. And the music will be upstairs and she’ll hear it, and it’s really loud and you’d think it would disturb her, but I just kind of rock her to it, and she’ll just pass out.”

My Kardashian-to-English Translator interprets Kim’s remarks as “Lucifer’s Homegirl is going to pimp out the little one as soon as possible.” While I think Kim’s version of “work” is very different than mine, yours and everyone else’s, in a larger sense… yeah, I guess we could describe her as a self-made woman. I do think that much of Kardashian Empire was built by Lucifer’s Homegirl though, not Kim. Kim wouldn’t be where she is now without the pimp hand guiding her every move. Will Nori be the same?
