Gigi Hadid wore Prada to the 2021 Met Gala. This is her first gala since giving birth last year – I actually think we’re coming up on Khai Malik’s first birthday?? Which is cool. Gigi has been back to work since her maternity leave, but it doesn’t feel like she’s in our faces, which is nice. I also like her gala ensemble and styling. I mean, she’s not there to reinvent the wheel, and she basically just went with a nice gown with a corset. She did try to mix it up with a spectacular red wig though. It suits her! She should definitely dye her hair red, it looks great.

Rita Ora & Taika Waititi, both in Prada. If you watched the Vogue livestream, you probably noticed two things: one, Taika was hammered and two, Rita’s dress did not fit at all. It looked like she got the sh-t off-the-rack in a size too big. Rita seems to like Taika a lot but he seems to be… I don’t know, in his f–kboy feelings these days.

Storm Reid in Prada. An absolute mess of a dress, but she seemed to enjoy it.

Frank Ocean wore Prada and carried one of the creepiest dolls I’ve ever seen. I love Frank but lord, I would not want to sit at his table with that doll.

Beyonce dropped her new album on iTunes last night with no advanced publicity

Maybe it’s because Beyonce was feeling light-headed from her vegan diet. Maybe she was just running out of stunts after all of her meat-themed clothing. Or maybe Beyonce is just mad that she was only nominated for one Grammy this year, as part of a collaboration with her husband. Whatever it was, Beyonce decided to drop her new album on iTunes at midnight and now the world is all “QUEEN B!” What’s interesting to me at least is that this is the album Beyonce has been working on for the better part of a year and a half. Word is that she scrapped nearly everything she had recorded earlier this year and started over because she wants this album (the album is called BEYONCE) to be her big comeback.

Beyoncé has created a holiday frenzy – delighting fans by announcing a surprise new album just before midnight Friday, then secretly releasing it immediately after the announcement.

With 14 songs and 17 videos and collaborators such as Jay Z, Drake and Frank Ocean, the self-titled album also features on its closing track, “Blue,” performed by Beyoncé with daughter Blue Ivy.

“I see music,” Beyoncé said in a video announcement on her Facebook page. “It’s more than just what I hear. When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies. And they’re all connected to the music.”

Inspiration for the new work, she says, came from watching Michael Jackson reveal his landmark Thriller album in the ’80s.

“I miss that immersive experience,” she says. “Now people only listen to a few seconds of song on the iPods and they don’t really invest in the whole experience. It’s all about the single, and the hype. It’s so much that gets between the music and the art and the fans. I felt like, I don’t want anybody to get the message, when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans.”

This is her fifth studio album and first since 4 two years ago. The new album is released exclusively on iTunes.

“It’s all about the single, and the hype. It’s so much that gets between the music and the art and the fans.” I feel like this is a pointed criticism, specifically at Lady Gaga. But it could easily be about Katy Perry too, I guess. Both Katy and Gaga released their albums a few months ago, and Katy “won” with how she released Prism and Gaga “lost” because she over-hyped and badly managed the release of ARTPOP. Beyonce’s gamble is that people love her so much they’re going to be crazy-excited for her album with little to no advance publicity. Will it work out?

Snoop Lion AKA Snoop Dogg can join Jeremy Irons in the despicable Anti-Gay Club For Jerks. When The Guardian asked Mr. Lion-Dogg what he thought of Frank Oceans’ coming out as a sign of progress in accepting homosexuality in the rap world, Mr. Lion said,

Frank Ocean ain’t no rapper. He’s a singer. It’s acceptable in the singing world, but in the rap world I don’t know if it will ever be acceptable because rap is so masculine.

It’s like a football team. You can’t be in a locker room full of motherfucking tough-ass dudes, then all of a sudden say, ‘Hey, man, I like you.’ You know, that’s going to be tough.

Oh my God. These are the exact stereotypes that keep gay rappers/football players/anyone in the closet and halt any kind of progress. What is so insane about the idea that someone can be both gay and masculine? Snoop, come on! You’ve probably met lots of masculine men who were gay and you didn’t even know it.

And the second part, the locker room analogy — I don’t even know where to begin. Again, it perpetuates the fear some straight men have that all gay men just want to hit on all straight men. Just because you have a group of men changing in a locker room and one or some of them are gay, does not mean that they are going to suddenly develop huge crushes on all of the straight men and make everyone uncomfortable. Changing in a locker room isn’t even a sexual thing! You’re the one who’s sexualizing it, Mr. Snoop Lion. You’re the one who’s bringing that into the equation.

Of course then he uses the classic, “I don’t hate gay people, I have gay friends” tactic:

I don’t have a problem with gay people. I got some gay homies. Yeah, for real. People who were gay used to get beat up. It was cool to beat up on gay people back then. But in the 90s and 2000s, gay is a way of life. Just regular people with jobs. Now they are accepted, not classified. They just went through the same things we went through as black.

You’re still beating up on gay people; now you’re just doing it with your words and your attitude. If you think they’re “accepted” then why the hell can’t they be rappers?

Kim Kardashian was rushed to a doctor in Los Angeles on Tuesday night when she feared she was having a miscarriage after returning from Paris fashion week, Page Six can exclusively reveal. And while it was fortunately a false alarm, Kim has now been ordered by her doctors to stop overdoing it and get more rest.

The four-months-pregnant reality star flew to Paris on Sunday to join baby-daddy Kanye West at a Givenchy show and dinner after, with guests including Frank Ocean and designer Riccardo Tisci. But sources say that when the E! star arrived back in LA on Tuesday, she was immediately rushed to her doctor in tears.

“Kim started feeling ill on the plane from Paris, and called friends as soon as she landed,” an insider said. “She was rushed to her doctor Tuesday night in tears. She thought she was having a miscarriage.”

Luckily she and the baby were fine, and Kardashian was sent home at 12:30 a.m. after she was examined and given the all-clear. But doctors told her she’s working and exercising too hard, and gave her a stern warning to rest.

“Kim’s not respecting her pregnancy,” says a source. “She’s running around, working out seven days a week. She’s working with two different trainers to control her weight, including Tracy Anderson and a pregnancy trainer.”

The source added that Kardashian — who’s been photographed obsessively working out while expecting — has been desperately trying to tame her figure amid public criticism that she’s ballooning.

“She’s scared that her ass is as big as a couch and is going south,” the source said. “But she is having a very rough pregnancy, and doctors have ordered her to slow down.”

Miguel Doesn’t Pop Bottles In His Free Time, Guys

If you’re sitting there asking yourself “Who in the hell is Miguel?”, you’re either not an R&B fan or Kelly Clarkson before his performance at the Grammys earlier this month. Who he is, really, is an incredibly talented singer who has been working in the industry for nearly a decade and makes what he describes as “eclectic, artsy R&B-pop”. He’s great, and we’ll be hearing a lot more of him over the coming months and years, for sure.

In any case, Miguel wants to set something straight before going any further: he’s not your typical R&B star, despite the message you might get from his Salaam Remi-produced Kaleidoscope Dream (which is a damn good album).

I wanted it to be as edgy and alternative as my lifestyle. I don’t think I live the lifestyle that’s expected of a quote unquote R&B artist. I’m just not that dude. I don’t go to the club and pop bottles. I have my smooth moments, I suppose, but my life isn’t like that. Honestly, I don’t really listen to R&B music. I’m much more into lots of rock’n’roll. That juxtaposition was really important to highlight.

Overall, I wanted people to feel the way we would if we had a drink for the first time and we actually have a conversation. I wanted them to walk away knowing I wasn’t going to give them my deepest, darkest fucking secrets, but that there was some character to my personality. So that when you do have drinks with someone for the first time you can go, “You know what, this guy is kind of cool. I like where his head is at.”

I do indeed like where his head is at. It’s refreshing to see this new generation of artists like Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, etc. Also, the rock’n’roll influence is definitely noticeable in his music, and that’s probably why it’s so different than the run-of-the-mill stuff we’re hearing on the radio. I can’t wait to hear what he comes up with next. Give his track ‘Adorn’ a listen – what do you think?

Adele did NOT yell at Chris Brown at the Grammys: can you still love her?

At the Grammys on Sunday, Adele was just a few seats away from Rihanna and Chris Brown. When Adele won her Grammy, she actually sidestepped Chris and hugged Rihanna before going up to the stage (where some a—hole tried to Kanye her moment). The camera also caught an interesting moment when Frank Ocean won his Grammy – everybody stood for him except Chris Brown, and Adele noted Chris’s seated position with an excellent side-eye.

After the Grammys, several photos of Chris and Adele were published – go here to see. In one of the pics, Adele looks sort of like she’s telling Chris off and he looks humbled. Several tabloid sources claimed Adele was verbally smacking Chris because of the Frank Ocean thing. Unfortunately, Adele tweeted this:

Yeah. Sucks. I guess it’s nice to know that Adele has a Twitter (I didn’t know that) but I don’t like how so many people actually make the effort to acknowledge that they’re not hatin’ on Chris Brown. I’m not saying Chris needed to be completely shunned by everybody (although why not?), but is it too much to ask that we live in a world in which Adele (the supreme ruler of ALL) gets to school Chris Brown and there’s photographic evidence?

But even if Adele was complimenting Chris Brown (FOR WHY?!), can we just take a breath and realize that Adele is still really amazing? Even if we have to say that she’s only 99% amazing, that’s still way more amazing than most people.
