Did you miss last night’s MTV Video Music Awards? You’re not alone. I generally purposely try to miss the broadcast, but for whatever reason, I actually tuned in this year – via torrent, of course, which means I got to skip over the seemingly endless ad breaks. Here are the 10 moments that people are talking about/will make you seem totally “on it” around the water cooler at work. Beyoncé. Everything Beyoncé. Beyoncé was given the Video Vanguard Award after giving an incredible performance of a medley of pretty much every single song on the self-titled album. I know I get a bit Beyoncé-d out sometimes, but you can’t deny she’s an incredibly accomplished performer and that award was extremely well-deserved. Jay-Z bringing little Blue Ivy up on stage to hand her the statue at the end was the extra cherry on top. SO CUTE. Miley Cyrus got a homeless man to accept her award. Miley Cyrus won Video of the Year, but instead of accepting the award herself, she sent a homeless man from the area on stage to represent the homeless community in Los Angeles and bring awareness to the cause. Miley was in tears the whole time he was speaking, but I can’t tell if this was genuine or some weird hacky PR move. I’m feeling optimistic today, so I’ll go with the former. More behind the cut… Taylor Swift performed ‘Shake It Off’ live for the first time. Look, say what you’d like about Taylor Swift, but ‘Shake It Off’ is incredibly catchy. She’s still as awkward as ever, but she totally makes it work for her and this was a cute performance. Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj and Jessie J opened the show with ‘Bang Bang’ Ariana Grande did a little of ‘Break Free’ before Nicki Minaj came out with a verse of ‘Anaconda’ and then they joined up with Jessie J for a performance of ‘Bang Bang’, the song that Jessie will cling to for dear life because it’s the only thing that will give her a chance of “making it” in America. It was pretty good, despite Jessie and Ariana trying to out-sing each other and the fact that wardrobe messed up and Nicki’s dress had to be held closed the entire time. Katy Perry and Riff Raff turned up as vintage Britney and Justin Katy Perry is hanging out with Riff Raff I suppose because he’s doing the remix to ‘This Is How We Do’, and the pair of them thought it would be a good idea to recreate the perfection that was Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake‘s vintage Canadian Tuxedo VMAs look. This was a mess and I thought it was awful. For the record, Katy’s ‘Dark Horse’ did win an award. Demi Lovato’s boobs were really far apart. No shade to Demi Lovato, who looked amazing last night. Her boobs might have been headed in different directions, but she’s great. Get that half-shaved head, girl. Kim Kardashian proved she can read. Kim Kardashian presented an award and had to read some cue cards, and she actually managed it. Go, girl!

The VMAs are usually known for meat dresses and foam fingers, so this year’s red carpet was a bit underwhelming. Still, there were some definite risk-takers. Here’s my picks for the night’s best and worst looks (and check out all … Continue reading → The post VMAs 2014: Best and Worst Dressed appeared first on Scandal Sheet.
Iggy Azalea is so fancy she can’t even keep herself on the stage. The Katy Perry collaborator was singing her big ass hit, “Fancy”, at an MTV Video Music Awards benefit concert when she lost sight of where she was going and fell off the stage. According to the Mercury News, she got right back up and told the audience she felt “very blessed” that she didn’t break anything. She even posted a video of the fall on her Instagram, with the caption, “Sorry but it would be a crime not to share this with you all, I know I laughed. #StillFinishedtheSongTho #KeptOnRapping #TheShowMustGoOn”. Here it is: Man, she doesn’t have the best of luck performing this song at big venues. I remember when she was singing/rapping/whatevering this on Dancing with the Stars and had mic problems and could barely get through it. Anyway, since she’s okay and laughing about it, I figured, why not join in? It’s fun to watch celebrities fall down. Don’t even deny it. Follow us on Twitter | Facebook
Kate Moss‘s left breast is inspiring — to a London restaurant. The eatery, 34 Restaurant, collaborated with British artist Jane McAdam Freud to make a champagne glass based on the shape of the supermodel’s left breast. Seriously. Here’s what it looks like: And here’s what Ms. Moss had to say of the honor, via dezeen magazine: I was excited to participate in this project – what an honour to be alongside Marie Antoinette – she was a very intriguing and mischievous character. Champagne is always associated with celebration and happy occasions and I had fun creating this beautiful coupe. (Marie Antoinette’s left breast was ALSO used as inspiration for a champagne glass hundreds of years ago.) Kate Moss has inspired many people to create designs based on her life — remember the controversial T-shirt? But perhaps the most inspiring thing she’s done was tell Justin Bieber to stop being an asshole – maybe someone can make silverware based on this event. If you could create a champagne glass based on any celeb’s boob, who would you choose? (Hey, why not? Just go with it.) Cheers! Follow us on Twitter | Facebook
