Leah Remini Quit Scientology Because Of Tom Cruise

Leah Remini quit Scientology last year after basically spending her entire life in the cult Church. She’s even writing a tell-all book that’s going to be so juicy and I can’t wait to read it. We all know Scientology is a crock of boloney that somehow has gained ground in Hollywood, convincing actors to give millions of dollars to some freakazoid who claims aliens brought us to Earth or whatever nonsense they believe. And look, I’m not here to shit on anyone’s religious beliefs regardless of my own, but we all know Scientology is NOT a religion; it’s a cult. In any case, Leah has now revealed another little tidbit: Tom Cruise is basically the reason she finally left, in many ways. Turns out, he’s basically the Jesus Christ of Scientology, and the Church doesn’t take too kindly to anyone saying anything bad about him. From 20/20 (via US Weekly): “The decision to leave is… you’re giving up everything you’ve worked for your whole life,” she says in a preview clip of the interview, set to air on Friday, Oct. 30. “I think people need to understand that this was my whole life, and I want them to understand that this is how it happened.” “As time goes on, you begin to lose touch with the real world,” she says. “The mindset begins to be ‘Us against them.’” “Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself,” she claims, adding that anyone who dares to disparage either was deemed “evil.” LOL at that. How does ANYONE see Scientology as viable in any way, or at all attractive? The star of Mission: Impossible is their “savior” and you can’t say anything against him? They want a ton of your income and control of your life? And what exactly does anyone get out of this, other than a weird version of regression therapy? Kristen Wiig Was “Really Bummed” Over The ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot Criticism

Because the world is full of haters, a lot of people were pretty unhappy with the decision to remake Ghostbusters… particularly because it has an all-female cast. Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon are starring in the reboot of the ’80s classic, and I think it’s going to be great. Will it be the funniest thing ever created? Probably not, but it is a quirky female-driven action movie, and there aren’t enough of those, so why is it such a bad thing? Hollywood is constantly ruining shit by “updating” it when it didn’t need an update, so why is this difference? Oh right, because, Ghostbusters is a dude movie, and how dare women try to change that?! The criticism the movie’s received has really “bummed” Kristen Wiig out, because she loves the original Ghostbusters and believes the new film is honouring the old one. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, she admitted that she doesn’t really get the misogyny surrounding the project, and frankly, neither do I. Have you ever made a movie that had so much attention and even controversy attached to it as you were making it? No. And the fact there was so much controversy because we were women was surprising to me. Some people said some really not nice things about the fact that there were women. It didn’t make me mad, it just really bummed me out. We’re really honoring those movies. I feel you. I hope the movie does really well, so that Hollywood can realize that female-driven movies do have value and should get more attention and funding. Again, it’s not that I think thew Ghostbusters remake is going to revolutionize Hollywood, but if Adam Sandler’s garbage is still getting made, I think we can deal with some lady heroes. Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale Finalize Divorce

Those of us who lived through the ’90s totally ‘shipping Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale got our hearts broken this summer when they announced that they were breaking up after 13 years of marriage. It was incredibly sad, but shit happens, and celebrity marriages making it that long are rare as hell. They got over a decade plus some adorable kids out of it, but it’s over now, and they actually finalized the terms of their divorce this week. Sources connected with the couple tell us, Gwen and Gavin will get joint custody with their 3 children. We’re told the agreement provides a 50/50 split in physical custody, but we’re told Gavin will actually have the kids for the majority of time because of Gwen’s touring schedule. As for money, we learned there was no prenup … we’re told Gavin agreed to take far less than his 50% share of the community property. Under California law they’re each entitled to half, but our sources say Gavin took much less  … presumably to reach a quick settlement. As for stories that Gwen and Gavin were fighting over money, we’re told that was never the case. Well, at least they’re keeping it civil for the sake of the kids and are both continuing to raise them. The kids should always be the first priority in situations like this, and it seems like they know it.
