Embed from Getty Images I’m developing a bizarre conspiracy theory about Lady Gaga this year. Not only does she look really, really different these days, but she sounds different too, right? I had totally forgotten that Gaga was scheduled to sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl 50, so I was pleasantly surprised when she stepped out in a sparkly suit and did a “Broadway” version of the Anthem. But… I didn’t think she sounded like herself. Her voice sounded different to me. Is it possible that she pre-recorded the Anthem and there was some post-production trickery? Is it possible that Old Gaga has been replaced by New Botox Gaga? I’m just putting it out there. If “Paul is dead” can be a conspiracy that lasts for decades, so too can the “Gaga has been replaced” conspiracy. She sounded fine. I’m glad that she treated the Anthem with respect and that she used the opportunity to show off her vocals, because it’s a notoriously difficult song to sing correctly. I’m also glad that Gaga wore an appropriate outfit, mostly because I’m grateful I’m not having to sift through 10 million headlines about “Why did Gaga wear a meat dress and nude panties to the Super Bowl?” Gaga’s sparkly suit is Gucci. Classy! Her blue sparkly mani got some attention too. Good for her. Man, 2016 really is turning out to be Gaga’s comeback year. I still CANNOT with Johnny Depp’s bejeweled safety pin earrings. That is all. No, that’s not all! These are photos of Depp at the 31st Santa Barbara International Film Festival. He did not bring Amber Heard. Depp received the Maltin Modern Master Award, which is like the film festival’s lifetime achievement. I’m fine with acknowledging that Depp is at an age and stage of his career where he’s worthy of lifetime achievements. Do you think Depp is okay with it though? Still, he came out and sat down with Leonard Maltin for a far-ranging two-hour conversation in front of an audience. Variety’s write-up is nice, and while Depp does come across as nervous (almost shy), he talked at length about working with legends like Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, Vincent Price, Christopher Lee and more. Some highlights: Why he wasn’t happy on the TV show, 21 Jump Street: “Back then you’ve got this idea of this road, and ‘I’m gonna make it mine.’ When you’re confined to a TV series and you have to play one character, it can make you insane. But it didn’t affect me. I got out in time. I didn’t want to be a salesman, I guess is what it was. So I tried to get fired a lot.” Working on What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, working with Leo DiCaprio: “It was a hard time for me for some reason. It was mostly really miserable. You can’t really tell if the thing you’re feeling at the time is coincidental. Did I have to be that way for the film? I respect Leo a lot. He worked really hard on that film, researching and showing up ready to work — and I tortured him. I really did. He was always talking about these video games. ‘No I will not give you a drag from my cigarette while you hide from your mother again, Leo.’” He was in awe of Al Pacino: “Marlon just liked to have fun, and so did I, so I thought, ‘There’s no way I’m going to get lucky twice. This guy’s gonna hand me my ass, because he looks like the kind of guy who’s going to hand someone their ass. Anyone who’s getting their ass handed to them, it’s not Al.’” [From Variety] The Leo story is my favorite part – Depp knew Leo when he was just some punk kid, trying to be a badass and hiding from his mom. And now Depp has to sit on the sidelines, not even invited to the show, while Leo wins an Oscar. I’m not sure if I believe that Depp never wants to win an Oscar or that he never wants recognition for his roles, but I kind of like that he showed up for this thing and he was a good sport about it. Meanwhile, Johnny Depp will be at the Grammys two Sundays from now. He’s performing with The Hollywood Vampires, the “supergroup” that includes Depp, Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Duff McKagan and they will perform a tribute to Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. Blac Chyna: ARRESTED For Public Intoxication, Booted Off Plane at the Airport!

Tyga’s baby mama and Rob Kardashian’s controversial girlfriend Blac Chyna was arrested at the airport earlier today in Austin, Texas. After allegedly getting drunk and becoming absolutely belligerent on a flight, the notorious stripper and Kardashian foe got popped in ATX. TMZ reports that she was in Austin-Bergstrom airport en route from LAX to London, and on her way to her connecting flight, she got loud. Then louder, and louder, and more obnoxious. It’s not clear why, but she stormed toward the gate and began screaming at an airline employee, calling her a “Nasty ass bitch.” Police were alerted to her shenanigans, followed her onto the plane, arrested her on the spot and dragged her drunk ass off. Witnesses say Blac was “heavily intoxicated” on the plane, “fighting” with a flight attendant and generally acting “like a drunken fool.” According to a passenger, she was screaming at one point, “Y’all got no respect for me. I gotta tie my shoes. Let me tie my Yeezys.” Somewhere, ‘Ye has to be smiling a little. Chyna, who has been ALL OVER the news this week thanks to her latest romance, was crying as she was handcuffed and escorted out. Interestingly, Blac was at LAX gushing about Rob and his sisters just a few hours prior. Free booze in first class gets you every time. Also today, knowing the lightning rod was headed out of town, Kris Jenner went to Chyna’s house to smack some sense into her only son. While Kardashian loves his new girl and swears this isn’t a “revenge romance” of sorts, Blac’s arrest is only going to boost Kris’ argument. The 27-year-old was booked for public intoxication following her disorderly conduct on what was a brief but memorable Texas layover. As of this post, Chyna was still detained in jail. Amber Rose calls Kanye West a ‘f–king clown’: ‘You don’t bring in my baby’

Here are some photos of Amber Rose on Wednesday, after Kanye West’s Twitter rant directed at Wiz Khalifa (Amber’s ex) and after Amber body-slammed Kanye on Twitter. A lot is being said and written about Kanye’s constant disses towards Amber Rose following their breakup more than four years ago. Some think Kanye still has feelings for or about Amber. Some think Kanye is a petty child. I don’t disagree. But if I can just point out one small thing: Kanye called Amber a “stripper” in his Twitter rant because he thought Wiz made a derogatory reference to Kim (as it turned out, Wiz was just talking about weed). If Wiz or anyone else actually did slam Kim, I would expect Kanye to act the exact same way. None of which means that Kanye was in the right, especially when Kanye went in on Sebastian, Amber and Wiz’s son. So, Amber did an interview with the podcast Allegedly and she reacted to Kanye’s shade towards Sebastian. She apparently calls Ye a “f—king clown.” And more: “The thing of it is like, I would never talk about kids in like, an argument. It just shows the type of person he is. You know, even him saying stuff about my son, I still didn’t say anything about his kids. I’m not going to. That’s ridiculous. They’re innocent babies. You don’t ever, ever talk about a baby, ever. It just shows how f–king ridiculous he is.” “Listen, don’t talk about my kid. That’s all I got to say. Don’t talk about my baby. I wouldn’t have said anything if it was just between him and Wiz. That’s two grown men hashing it out. I would’ve kept it cute and just minded my business. You don’t bring in my baby. That’s so corny. That’s the second time you did it this week.” [From E! News] For sure. Don’t talk about the children. And she’s absolutely right: imagine the weeks of drama if Amber even mentioned North or Saint on Twitter or in an interview. Just to play devil’s advocate though… while Kanye absolutely should never had even referenced Amber’s child, the tweets felt more like Kanye was attacking Amber, that Amber was the target more than anyone else. He tweeted to Wiz: “I know you mad every time you look at your child that this girl got you for 18 years.” That’s a common theme with Kanye, that a “Golddigger” will get knocked up and you’ll be paying her for 18 years. That’s a slam against Amber. The other two references were “You wouldn’t have a child if it wasn’t for me” and “You own waves???? I own your child!!!!” I think “you wouldn’t have a child” is about how if Kanye hadn’t broken up with Amber, she never would have gotten with Wiz, etc. As for “I own your child”… I don’t even know what that’s about, I really don’t. Again, I’m not defending Kanye, but Amber acts like Kanye name-checked Sebastian specifically when really Kanye just needs to stop obsessing over Amber full-stop. Kristen Stewart: Conversations about gender pay disparity are ‘boring’

Embed from Getty Images While I am legitimately disappointed that so many non-white artists were snubbed with #OscarSoWhite, I’m also a little bit disappointed that Kristen Stewart was snubbed too. Kristen walked away from this year’s awards season with some surprise critics’ awards for her work in Clouds of Sils Maria, and there were some hopes that she would make a late surge and end up with an Oscar nomination. Alas, it was not to be. But a lot of people like the current version of K-Stew. She’s less lip-bitey and she’s leaning in to her indie roots. Kristen is currently at Sundance to promote the drama Certain Women, and she chatted with E! News about what’s next for her career: Whether she’s offered roles in franchises all the time: “They’re not too common. Trust me, I would love to find a big doozy of a movie that’s interesting and worthwhile.” Would she play a superhero? “Maybe. Go print that—I can’t wait to play a superhero.” She really wants to direct: “Hopefully as soon as humanly possible. I really want to. I have to find the right thing. I started working when I was nine. I love this industry. I love what movies can do so I’ll find my story.” She’s been to Sundance many times & she loves indie films: “I’m not totally biased. I really like making the small ones and I like making the big ones. It’s just when you get the right people together who really care about something, who are not solely interested in getting just love and attention and money and stuff and it’s really for the love of the meditation on a subject and getting into something and baring your soul, [Sundance] is the perfect place to do it.” [From E! News] Since I was snowed in for the better part of three days (damn you, snowpocalypse!), I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron like three times on one of the premium cable channels. I was struck again by Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlett Witch role, which, to Olsen’s credit, she played well, the perfect mix of camp and legit drama. I wonder if that’s the kind of thing Kristen wishes she was up for – a supporting part in a Marvel movie, something like that. Or does she wish she could be Wonder Woman, steering her own franchise? I think it’s interesting that Kristen has been saying variations of “I’d love to do another big movie/franchise again” for the past year too – I mean, I know she’s not broke so it’s not like she needs the money. I think she’s just spent some time reevaluating what Twilight gave her, and she’d like another crack at a franchise, this time as an adult. Oh, and I saw this too late – Kristen spoke to Variety and she was asked about gender pay disparity. You can watch the video here, which I would recommend. She seems to acknowledge her privilege at the beginning, but she also basically tells women in the industry to suck it up. At one point, she says: “Instead of sitting around and complaining about that, do something. Go write something, go do something. And that’s easy to say. Like, f–k, it’s hard to get movies made. It’s a huge luxury. Who gets to just make movies? But that subject is just so prevalently everywhere right now, and it’s boring.” Oh, the discussion about inequality is boring, K-Stew? Amal Clooney’s red-suited press conference style: vampy or fine?

As we discussed yesterday, Amal Clooney was part of the legal team that got the former president of the Maldives out of jail. Amal wore a nonsensical coat – with lobster, hand and cat buttons/brooches – when she and the team went to 10 Downing Street over the weekend. Then on Monday, Amal and the team held a press conference at Amal’s law firm in London. For the press conference, Amal wore this red suit. And people are still talking about it. No one has the ID on this suit, which makes me wonder if this is something older that she’s had in her closet for years. I still think the suit is pretty good, minus the velvet trimming, which just makes it seem more like a Christmas-only suit rather than something appropriate for business meetings. I saw some criticism of the color, like Amal wanted to ensure that she stood out, that she was the diva dressed in blood red. I don’t know… I think red is her color and I think it’s fine for women to wear red to meetings, conferences, etc. Is it such a tragedy to stand out? That being said, I do think Amal’s styling was too “vampy” for the occasion. She paired her red suit with big curls, epic Salvatore Ferragamo stilettos, a Dolce & Gabbana tote and an inky black manicure. The whole look ended up being very… attention-grabbing. Charlie Sheen’s kids ‘don’t want to be alone with him,’ Denise protects them

Embed from Getty Images Yesterday we reported on some disturbing details in Denise Richards’s lawsuit against Charlie Sheen. Denise is seeking that Charlie either return the $7 million into a trust he raided for his daughters or give her $1.2 million to put down on a house. Charlie made that $7 million by evicting Denise from a mansion he purchased for her down the street from his house. He convinced her to move in with a sob story about rebuilding a relationship with his daughters after he learned he had HIV, only to harass and emotionally abuse her and the girls. The lawsuit described troubling incidents in which Charlie called his youngest daughter, Lola, then nine, awful names, and threatened to kill her and Denise. Denise hired private security for protection following Charlie’s threats. Page Six has some insider quotes from Denise and Charlie’s side, and Denise’s sounds sane and concerned for her girls, of course, while Charlie’s people are defensive and question Denise’s motives. This is their only move, and given how stoic Denise has been for years it’s a lousy one. “It’s volatile,” said a source, adding of Sheen and Richards’ children, “They’re afraid. They obviously love their dad, but they don’t feel comfortable. Stuff like that doesn’t go away overnight. They don’t want to be alone with him.” But a pal of Sheen’s told us: “It becomes difficult because the kids want to see their dad. He wants to see them, but she doesn’t allow it unless she’s present.” The source added that Sheen was texting Richards when he sent his daughter the profane note. “[Denise] was using the kid’s phone texting Charlie and they got into a disagreement. He talks and texts with them every day.” A Richards source countered, “Anyone with half a brain knows he’s texting his daughters,” and said Richards has “screenshots.” As far as her keeping him from the kids, “If that was the case, why would she move down the street from him? His priority was smoking crack and hookers. When you’re in that state, your kids are the furthest thing from your mind,” the friend of Richards said. Richards’ suit isn’t helping the relationship. “The guy has written checks. It’s not like he’s working now,” a Sheen source said. “Now would be the time to say, ‘What can I do to help you? I know times are tough.’ When he’s working, he’s the most generous person in the world.” But a different source said of the situation: “She’s never extorted him and always forgives him. He lashes out because he can do that to her. There are very few people in his life who won’t extort him and he holds that over her head.” [From Page Six] The Sheen source is telling Denise to ask “how can I help you?” and complaining about Denise, when she’s still letting him text the girls and see them as long as she’s there. That’s WAY more generous than Charlie deserves. He threatened to kill them! He should have court supervised visitation at the very least, but Denise has worked with him for years and it’s only harmed her and her daughters. I’m in no way criticizing her, she tried her best to give Charlie a relationship with his girls, was pushed into a corner and is now doing what she has to do.
