Blac Chyna is pregnant & pissed off at the Kardashians for leaking that info

Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna got engaged back in April. At the time, it seemed like a sudden move. And while I would never dare suggest that this is just a reality-show version of a shotgun marriage, that’s exactly what it looks like. On Friday, Blac Chyna and Rob confirmed that they are expecting their first child together. The baby will be Rob’s first overall, and Chyna’s second – she’s also mom to son King Cairo, whose father is Tyga (Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend). Chyna’s rep confirmed the pregnancy far and wide, telling media outlets: “I can confirm she’s pregnant and of course she’s happy.” But of course there’s already drama. People Magazine also noted in a later post that Chyna and Rob were not expecting to announce the news on Friday – they wanted to do it today, Sunday, for Mother’s Day. Chyna’s rep once again went to People and said: “She would have preferred to have announced it on Mother’s Day herself, but her hand was forced.” Who was “forcing” her hand? The Kardashian clan. Apparently, someone (or multiple someones) leaked the pregnancy info to media outlets on Friday, just to get at Chyna… maybe. I find it interesting that her rep is going on the record to People Mag just to stir the sh-t. As it turns out, Chyna has been a Kardashian all along, you know? She fits right in with the K-klan. People Mag also ran several positive, exclusive stories about the pregnancy and how Rob is elated about becoming a father, especially considering he lost his own father at such a young age. There’s also some insidery info about how the Kardashian-Jenner clan reacted to the news – go here to read. Apparently, Kris Jenner is not thrilled, and the Kardashian sisters are just sort of shell-shocked. Sources also say that Kim is already coming around, basically because she doesn’t see the point in starting a war with Rob and Chyna. Interestingly enough, in this week’s Life & Style, sources note that Rob is getting a bigger paycheck for Keeping Up with the Kardashians this season. For several seasons now, Rob has been in the wind, barely making appearances and not really engaging with the various storylines of the show. But if you’ve been watching this new season (currently airing), you might have noticed that Rob’s storyline is really dominating the show. So let me ask you… was that the plan all along? ???? Prince Harry is having the time of his life in Florida for the Invictus Games

The Invictus Games officially begin today, but Prince Harry (King Dirty Ginger Snap) has already been in Florida for days. On Friday and Saturday, Harry was participating in the welcoming events, holding babies, kissing puppies, shaking hands with veterans and generally being lovely and adorable. Interestingly enough, I think Poor Jason (the PR guy for the Cambridges and Harry) is with Harry in Florida. Just before Jason released a slew of lovely Harry photos, the KensingtonRoyal Twitter released some information about upcoming events involving Prince William. Because of course Harry can’t just have a moment. Speaking of Harry’s moment, I loved this story from People Magazine: Over breakfast at the Warrior Games in Colorado in 2013, Prince Harry turned to friend David Wiseman and said: “We’re going to bring this idea back to the U.K. and make it massive.” Now, two years on from the first Paralympic-style Invictus Games in London, the excitement is building for second event, which will kick off in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday. “It’s going to be such a fantastic atmosphere which the athletes will draw from,” U.K team captain Wiseman says. While Harry’s hopes for the UK version were big “if he had said there would be the First Lady and former President Bush at a games in Orlando a few years later I would have said ‘wow,’ ” Wiseman adds. “The world is watching this and hopefully lots of people can drawn inspiration from the amazing men and women competing in sport here. There’s going to be a lot of razzmataz.” Wiseman, who qualified for four swimming races in preliminary races on Saturday, was speaking to reporters after Harry had visited the swimming pool. “He has been knocking around for the last couple of days. He has a good, natural affinity with the veterans and service personnel. He belongs to that community and he can just rock up and whoever you are can stand here having a chat with the competitors. It’s natural, it’s genuine.” [From People] What I enjoy is that Harry always gives credit where it’s due: the American Warrior Games were his inspiration, and he wanted to make it bigger and more inclusive to veterans around the world. And Wiseman is right, Harry is natural and genuine. Always, but especially around veterans. And children. And puppies. And everyone else. Tom Hiddleston: Taylor Swift asked me to dance to The Weeknd at the Met Gala

Here are some photos of Tom Hiddleston outside of BBC Radio 2 today, Friday. I don’t know why he was carrying his guitar, but God bless. He’s that guy, maybe. The one who likes to bring his guitar everywhere just to serenade the ladies. At Radio 2, Tom ran into the Duchess of Cornwall and he put his arm around her while they were posing for photos – that’s a breach of protocol, but Camilla didn’t mind. Tom arrived back in London a few days ago, judging from his Twitter, and he’s really happy to be back after four months of non-stop travel. So, let’s take a moment and honor what is the end of Tom Hiddleston’s crazy American tour. He was in the US for the better part of two months, promoting back-to-back film and TV projects, a tour which culminated with a slew of appearances just in the past week, from his trip to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner to his first-ever appearance at the Met Gala and the release of his charming Esquire UK cover interview too. Before he left America, Tom did chat with the Press Association about how he ended up dancing the night away with Taylor Swift at the Met Gala. The videos of Taylor and Tom’s dancing went viral following the gala, and everyone wants to know how it came about. Tom explained: “I love dancing, who doesn’t?” Hiddleston told the Press Association in a recent interview. “It’s a weird one (that it went viral). I haven’t actually danced for a long time, but I happened to be dancing at the Met Gala, because it was a party. I was on a table with Taylor Swift and The Weeknd was playing and she said, ‘The thing about these parties is nobody gets up to dance,’” he continued. “She, as a musician, was like, ‘We’ve got to dance for The Weeknd!’ so we got up and danced.” [From ET] So, Taylor was the one whispering, “I wish someone would dance…” and Tom, ever the gentleman, was like, “Sure, let’s do it!” And he threw himself into with abandon. Bless. Tom’s appearance on Graham Norton will also be going down this weekend, and the episode has already been taped. According to the advanced press, Graham asks Tom about James Bond and more stuff about The Night Manager. Julia Roberts on staying in shape: ‘Remain calm, drink your water & be joyful’

The Cannes Film Festival starts next week, and Team USA is going to be pretty well-represented on the red carpet. In addition to the premiere of Woody Allen’s new movie, Café Society, Jodie Foster will be premiering her new film, Money Monster. Which means we’ll see Julia Roberts, George Clooney and probably Amal Clooney on the carpet. I’m genuinely excited about that. Julia tells InStyle – she’s the cover girl for June – that she might be wearing Givenchy, in which case it’s going to be HUGE… a huge disaster, that is, because Riccardo Tisci can’t design to save his life. But it will be great to see what Amal wears. Anyway, here are some highlights from Julia’s InStyle interview. On Jodie Foster: “Well, in my mind, she’s so scary, but really she’s so sweet… she’s so talented, notoriously brilliant. And she’s such a great actor. And really, she is very no-nonsense. She doesn’t think that there has to be some incredible, painful struggle to accomplish your goals. I thought she was crazy to be helming me and George—it’s like trying to keep puppies in a box.” Whether she’ll ever be on social media: “I think it’s like—what’s a good analogy? Listen, I don’t have my head in the sand. I’m aware of the different outlets, however you label them. It’s like people talking about a TV show: I can be perfectly aware of the TV show and the story, but it doesn’t mean I watch it. I have other friends who watch it, and they tell me about it. I mean, we were talking about Instagram. Everyone has Instagram on their phone. And I just, yeah, [if I had it] I would be looking at it all the time.” What she learned from her mom: “One of the greatest things she ever did for me … I remember asking her—when I had three kids under 3 years old and just felt like I was running in a thousand directions at once—“How on earth did you raise all of us? You worked full-time, and you did all these things.” She could have said, “Well, you know, you just do your best.” But she said, “Darling, it’s called day care. I dropped you and your sisters off at 7:30 in the morning, and I would pick you up at 4 in the afternoon.” But it didn’t feel like that to me. I didn’t feel like I was a dropped-off person who didn’t see her mom all day. I just felt completely part of her life, and she was part of mine. And that’s the magic trick: to make people feel that they’re with you when they’re not.” Whether she ever just goes shopping: “I do from time to time. It just kind of strikes at moments. The thing I never understood about fashion is that you put something on and you look and feel great, and then you put it on again 10 days later and it’s terrible.” How she stays in shape: “I feel like if I knew all the things to do [in terms of exercise], I would probably look like I was put together with tape. I would just go crazy. So I think, better just to remain calm, drink your water, get your sleep and be joyful. We definitely try to eat mindfully. As I always say to my kids, ‘You have to eat the good stuff to get the good stuff.’” Her first time at Cannes: “I’ve kind of avoided it. I mean, the first time I ever went to Asia was for a movie, Eat, Pray, Love. I’m a late bloomer.” [From InStyle, People] I always think Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston have the same kind of reaction to the rise of social media: social media came after their heydays, and they don’t really want to bother engaging in it. Surprisingly, Gwyneth Paltrow was in the same kind of boat, but she embraced her online presence and now she’s built an entirely new career out of it. Now, unlike other social-media-shy celebrities, I don’t get the feeling that Julia looks down on it at all. Like, she’s not judging it. She’s just not engaging with it at all. Also: I like what she says about her mom dropping off the kids at day care. Photos courtesy of WENN, cover courtesy of InStyle.

Vogue named Kanye West & Kim the ‘best dressed couple’ of the Met Gala

I felt guilty about admitting this yesterday, but I really enjoyed Kim Kardashian’s Balmain at the Met Gala. Like, out of all the Balmain gowns, I thought Kim’s was the best and most interesting. Does that mean that I thought Kim looked amazing? Eh. She looked better this year than in years past, but that’s not even the point. The point is that in 2016, Kim is one of those people we’re really excited to see, because everyone will have a really strong reaction to whatever she’s wearing. In just a few short years, Kim went from persona-non-grata in elite fashion communities to one of the most-discussed women at the biggest fashion events of the year. Page Six even had a piece about how Kim and her family “ruled” the Met Gala this year, and, according to one source, “they really work that room now…they really take it over. It’s like their party. Kim Kardashian went over really well. I gotta say, they worked the room the best. If you had to pick one group who ruled it, it was the Kardashians.” And that’s not all – Vogue Magazine (Vogue.com) named Kim and Kanye “the Met Gala’s Best-Dressed Couple.” I wouldn’t go that far, Vogue! I thought Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik were more interesting, although it was mostly Zayn, not Gigi. You can read Vogue’s write-up about Kimye here. Kanye read it too, and he even happily tweeted about it yesterday: I’m really excited to get our first best dressed at the met … This Gala is like the Grammys of style! pic.twitter.com/POCtXJUGzN — KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) May 3, 2016 He also tweeted out his thank-yous, like being named Best Dressed was an actual award and he was making an acceptance speech. He tweeted: “Thank you Anna for the invite thank you to the whole Vogue team… thank you Olivier for making 4 dresses for Kim to choose from which we chopped 2 in half… and thank you for turning my personal jean jacket into a couture piece… also to Kim’s hair and makeup Lorraine jewelry and the whole style squad at Balmain and the Yeezy team…. We just had fun with the “future” theme !!! It was a fun night all together …” [From Kanye’s Twitter] It’s sort of cute to me. This is Kanye at his most vulnerable, when he’s desperate to be accepted by the elite fashion people and tastemakers. Like, being called best-dressed by Vogue really, really means something to Yeezy. Jay-Z didn’t attend the Met Gala because there was ‘no big reason for him to go’

Yesterday I noted how weird it felt to see Beyonce flying solo at the Met Gala. She seemed oddly vulnerable walking the carpet alone. While her sister was there, they didn’t walk the carpet together and they only spent time together inside the event. On the carpet, Beyonce seemed almost cautious, and like she was making a statement by going it alone. Page Six made a big deal about how Beyonce wasn’t wearing her wedding ring too. Sources claim Bey decided not to wear her ring because she didn’t think it “meshed well” with her Becky-skin Givenchy gown. So why did Jay-Z skip this year’s Met Gala? After the elevator drama post-Met Gala in 2014, Jay and Bey made a point of going to the 2015 Met Gala together as a show of solidarity. But post-Lemonade, Jay couldn’t be bothered? Beyoncé completely nailed her 2016 Met Gala look. There was just one thing missing when she hit the red carpet on Monday, May 2, in New York — her husband, Jay Z. Although fashion’s biggest night comes on the heels of Bey’s much talked-about visual album, Lemonade, sources tell Us Weekly that the rapper’s absence is no biggie — he’s simply just been there, done that. “He’s done it before,” the insider explains to Us. “There’s just no big reason for him to go.” [From Us Weekly] Suspicious? Yeah. Anyway, as I said, Bey and Solange spent a lot of time together inside the event. Solange didn’t bring her husband to the gala, but Alan Ferguson did come out for the post-gala parties. Beyoncé attended the Met Gala and after parties sans husband Jay Z. The singer first posed at Gilded Lily for the Balmain bash, where she hung out with the fashion house’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, and her little sister Solange, who arrived with her husband, Alan Ferguson. “I don’t know where Jay was and I definitely thought it was interesting he didn’t come,” said one partygoer. “It definitely fuels speculation about the relationship, but I think that’s probably the point. People at the Met were talking about it.” But the chatter didn’t bother Beyoncé one bit. She celebrated with Champagne and “was in high spirits hanging out on the banquette with Olivier. She seemed to be in a very good mood,” a different source said. Bey later headed over to Up & Down, where DJ Jus Ske played Beyoncé’s song “Formation” as she arrived with Solange. [From Page Six] I get the feeling that the message – if there is a message – is that Jay-Z is still on notice to a certain extent. Like, Lemonade was about how he cheated, how Beyonce was mad and wanted to destroy everything, but she forgave him and worked through the drama. But he’s still on notice. And hey, maybe he truly didn’t want to go to the gala this year. Suspicious. PS… I absolutely love her party-pants!! Photos courtesy of Fame/Flynet, WENN.

Alicia Vikander cast as the new, rebooted Lara Croft: great choice or meh?

The last time we heard anything about the reboot of the Lara Croft franchise, it was last month, when we learned that Daisy Ridley was in talks to play Lara. The reboot, we heard, would focus on Lara’s earlier years, her college-student years, before she became the buxom Tomb Raider played by Angelina Jolie. Daisy is 24 years old, and while petite, would have been able to handle the physicality of the role. But producers decided to go with someone else: 27-year-old Alicia Vikander, a Swede. Vikander is fresh off the awards season, and this is the first role she’s landed since winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for The Danish Girl. Vikander also landed a supporting role in Jason Bourne, which filmed late last year and early this year, but I don’t think her part was very physical? I’m just saying… Vikander is a veteran of costume dramas, not physical action work. But I guess she impressed producers. Alicia Vikander has been cast today as Lara Croft for MGM, Warner Bros and GK Films in Tomb Raider. The reboot will tell the story of a young and untested Lara Croft fighting to survive her first adventure. Roar Uthaug (The Wave) is directing. MGM and Warner Bros are co-producing the film with MGM overseeing production. They acquired film rights from GK Films, which had previously purchased film rights in 2011 from Square Enix LTD. Graham King is serving as producer. This is the latest plum role for Vikander, and arguably her highest-profile one yet. She next co-stars in Jason Bourne opposite Matt Damon. Her success continues to rise following a successful 2015 that saw her performance in Tom Hooper’s The Danish Girl win an Academy Award for best supporting actress as well as a memorable turn in Ex Machina as possibly the best-looking and ruthless robot in the history of cinema. She also has The Light Between Oceans opposite Michael Fassbender in the pipelines. That film has been generating awards-season buzz even though it will not be released before the end of the year. This was a role that every young actress was after with Daisy Ridley, Cara Delevigne, Emilia Clarke and Saoirse Ronan all rumored at some point. Vikander looks a strong choice for this potential franchise, given she has form with a perfect English accent. She is currently filming Submergence for Wim Wenders opposite James McAvoy. [From Deadline] “…Given she has form with a perfect English accent…” If you say so, Deadline. Given the shortlist, I do think Vikander was probably the strongest choice, side-by-side with Daisy Ridley. I kind of wonder if Daisy would have been a bigger contender for this role if only her schedule for Star Wars was a bit looser. Anyway… this Lara Croft reboot was never going to be for me. It’s for a new generation of fan-boys and fan-girls who want to see a different, less buxom version of Lara Croft. I wish them well and I hope the scripts are better than the Jolie-version scripts. Also… The Light Between Oceans got pushed back for a fall release? I wonder if a lot of people want TLBO to just disappear. Given the absolutely awful source book, the movie was never going to be good. Photos courtesy of WENN, Fame/Flynet.
