Well, well. It looks like all of those “sources” were right! Miranda Kerr is officially engaged to billionaire Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel. Miranda is 33, Evan is 26. The age difference is no big deal – we wouldn’t blink if the ages were reversed – except that Evan seems a lot younger. He seems like he’s still a frat bro in college. I’ve long suspected that Miranda is useful to Evan for that reason: she legitimizes him (somewhat) as an “adult,” as a player, as someone who should be taken seriously. As for what he brings to the table for Miranda… well…I mean, I can only guess. Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel is celebrating his engagement to Miranda Kerr, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal. The supermodel accepted the proposal from the 26-year-old tech superstar, who she has been dating for two years. ‘They are extremely happy,’ a spokesperson for the Snapchat CEO told DailyMail.com exclusively. Miranda started dating Stanford University graduate Evan in June 2015 after meeting at a fashion industry dinner. [From The Daily Mail] Reportedly, Evan was ready to propose months ago but they were just bickering about the prenup. I assume Miranda will have to sign a prenup at some point (if she hasn’t already), but I also suspect that she’s going to get knocked up in a hurry, don’t you? Miranda confirmed the news… on Instagram and Snapchat (although most people are just talking about the IG). She posted a photo of her ring (below), which is reportedly a 2.5 carat round diamond with two baguette diamonds. Us Weekly spoke to “jewelry expert Michael O’Connor” who says that ring probably cost something like $55,000. Which is a decent chunk of change for me, but Evan is a BILLIONAIRE. And the general rule is to spend two months’ salary. How does one calculate that when one is a billionaire? That O’Connor guy goes on and on about how the ring is understated and beautiful and “the couple decided on a timeless style that proves they ‘don’t need to try.’” Yes, that’s just what you want your ring to say: “He didn’t want to try.” I think it looks like He Went To Jared. Everyone has something to say about it, especially Taylor Swift’s best friend. Selena Gomez posted a few tweets in response to Kim Kardashian’s decision to release audio between Swift and Kanye West regarding “Famous” lyrics. “There are more important things to talk about…” she tweeted. “Why can’t people use their voice for something that fucking matters?” “Truth is last thing we need right now is [sic] hate, in any form,” she added. “This industry is so disappointing yet the most influential smh” According to the Daily Mirror, a fan asked Gomez why she wasn’t using the hashtag, #blacklivesmatter. “oh lol so that means if I hashtag something I save lives?” she responded. “No -I could give two f***s about ‘sides’. You don’t know what I do.” The audio reveals West running controversial lyrics about Swift by the singer herself. “I mean it’s like a compliment,” West says over the phone. Do people genuinely care about Derek Jeter? Let me ask that another way: besides Yankees fans, do people care about Jeter? Well, in case you care, Jeter is married! The 42-year-old retired Yankee married 26-year-old swimsuit model Hannah Davis this weekend. Yes, I’m still rolling my eyes at the age difference too. Jeter was actually one of New York’s most famous bachelors, and over the years, he romanced everyone from Mariah Carey to Jessica Biel (remember that?) to Minka Kelly. Hannah and Derek had gotten engaged last fall after dating for a few years. Surprisingly, the wedding didn’t take place in New York. Or the Hamptons. It took place in St. Helena, California, at a Napa Valley resort. Hannah wore a custom-made Vera Wang gown and from what I’ve seen, the Daily Mail has the best pics – you can see them here. The gown is sleeveless, with a high lace neck. Not my style, but she looked lovely. Wedding guests included Yankees Jorge Posada, Andruw Jones and Tino Martinez, as well as Jeter’s family and some of Hannah’s modeling buddies. There were less than 100 guests and Hannah had said in past interviews that she was trying to keep the wedding pretty simple. What else? In all of the media coverage of the wedding, people are noting that Hannah bought an Italian Mastiff puppy for Jeter for Christmas. The puppy’s name is Kane. Oh, and all of this time I thought Hannah was from somewhere like Pennsylvania, but she was born and raised in the US Virgin Islands. 2016 Emmy nominations: who got recognized & who got snubbed?

As previewed yesterday, the 2016 Emmy nominations were finally announced this morning in LA. It feels like people were especially excited about this year’s nominations, likely because there’s always the hope that the Emmy voters might begin to phase in some new shows and new people. And it seems like every year, we’re disappointed with the same old people and same old shows. Is it the same this year? I was really worried that Game of Thrones got snubbed in all of the acting categories, but NO! GoT actors flooded the supporting categories which… I agree with that. Dinklage didn’t need another nomination, but he is one of the best actors on the series, so be it. I LOVE that Kit Harington got nominated (SadFace might even win!), and I love that Maisie Williams, Lena Headey and yes, even Emilia Clarke got recognized. I know many of you will love that The Americans finally got some major love, as did Mr. Robot and Master of None. I’m not shocked that Downton Abbey got some noms (even though the last season was all over the place), and I’m not shocked that The Night Manager got some love too – it was a really well-done miniseries. Several of you guys wanted to talk about this, so you better click & comment! Because when I saw this story earlier this morning, I didn’t give a crap. Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk were in London for a week to attend Wimbledon games. They were spotted nearly every day, mostly at the men’s matches. They attended Andy Murray’s final on Sunday, and Bradley and Irina were seated just next to Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter. Suddenly, everything seemed to go wrong for B-Coop and Irina. She turned stone-faced at one point, even though Bradley was trying to make her laugh. She ignored him when he spoke to her. Some even thought she was crying at one point. What was this all about? Did Bradley say something rude to her? Was Bradley’s ex-girlfriend Suki Waterhouse – who was also in attendance – an issue in the fight? Was there some kind of breakdown in (alleged!) contractual negotiations? Tom Hiddleston & Taylor Swift fly into LAX: is Tom ‘tired’ of all the photo-ops?

The Great & Glorious Tiddlebanging of 2016 has NEW PHOTOS. And they are pretty great photos, let me tell you. Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston were photographed at LAX last night, flying into LA from the East Coast. Tom and Taylor presumably were flying in from Rhode Island, which is where they were for the Taymerica Fourth of July celebrations. What’s interesting about these photos… well, SO MUCH is interesting. Reportedly, they are en route to Australia, where Tom will be filming Thor: Ragnarok. There were some theories floating around that The Glorious Tiddlesbang party would be over as soon as Tom left for Australia. But look! Tay-Tay is coming with him, maybe! She doesn’t have anything to do this summer, honestly. Her tour is over, she doesn’t have an album to promote, all she has to do is write and record music, which she’s probably doing as we speak anyway. They have recording studios and producers in Australia! What else is interesting? Tom does seem protective of Taylor, in that boyfriend-esque way. This is their airport debut, and their body language seems fine. He even put his arm around her as they made their way through LAX (with her bodyguards in tow). In other Glorious Tiddlesbanging news, The Daily Mail made a big deal about how Taylor had a professional photographer documenting all of the “fun” and “spontaneity” at her Taymerica party. I’m not bothered by the idea of Taylor hiring a professional photographer to document the party – considering how much thought and money went into the party, it would have been strange if she hadn’t hired a photographer. But what’s weird is the dissemination of the professional photographer’s photos via the squad’s Instagram accounts. That reveals Machiavellian levels of image-control. And here’s my last thing: Even Tom Hiddleston is getting sick of the social media sensation that is #Swiddleston. Sources tell us that Taylor Swift is a “clingy girlfriend” and she initiated all the photo-ready displays of affection at her July Fourth extravaganza. The snaps show the pair frolicking in the sea and on the beach. Our spy even noticed a camera-fatigued Hiddleston sneaking off for a beer with some guys. “He seems to get tired of the endless Instagram photo opps after, like, the third hour in the water,” sniffed an insider. [From Page Six] LOL. Maybe Tom thinks that if he gets Taylor away from the squad and the machinery in America, their love can grow and deepen? Maybe that’s why she’s coming to Australia with him? Finally! Pippa Middleton has been dating James Matthews – who is terribly rich, btw – since November-ish of last year. I strongly suspect that there was overlap between “the start of James Matthews” and “the end of Nico Jackson,” the British tabloids really want to marry off Pippa, so they’re not making a big deal about it. No one wants to scare this one off! So Pippa hasn’t been doing pap strolls with James Matthews, and he has not been her plus-one at any charity events. But I asked/hoped for some coupled-up photos of James and Pippa at Wimbledon and here we are! Pippa and James Matthews came out to Wimbledon on Wednesday for Roger Federer’s quarter-final match against Marin Cilic (Federer won). This really is their first official-ish public appearance together. There’s also a rumor going around that James is going to propose to Pippa in the coming months, although that story sounds like it came from Carole Middleton, so… you know, it might not happen. What do we think of James? I think… he doesn’t really look like Pippa’s type? Her previous boyfriends seemed like buff, athletic types and pretty boys. James Matthews seems sort of small and not that athletic. Maybe he has a really great personality. Pippa’s dress in these photos is Tabitha Webb. I strongly suspect that many of you Middleton-watchers are correct and Pippa is being paid to wear certain designers, or she’s getting these dresses free on the condition that she wears them to Wimbledon.
