Glee Star’s Boyfriend Found Dead
Well this is just awful. Almost a year after Cory Monteith’s death, another Glee actress is experiencing the pain of losing someone. Actress Becca Tobin, who plays Kitty Wilde on the show, is dealing with the loss of her boyfriend, Matt Bendik, who was found dead in a hotel room in Philadelphia. Here’s the story, from the Daily News: Matt Bendik’s body was discovered a little after 1 p.m. Thursday by a maid at the Hotel Monaco, police said. It’s unclear where Tobin – who found fame in 2012 by playing cheerleader Kitty Wilde in the hit Fox TV series – was at the time. But police said there were no obvious signs of foul play and the body of 35-year-old Los Angeles nightclub owner was taken to the Medical Examiner for an autopsy, Philadelphia media reported. No drugs or paraphernalia were found in the room Bendik and Tobin, 28, had been sharing either, TMZ.com reported. And the couple, who were in Philadelphia on a business trip, appeared to be happy. They had reportedly been out with friends on Wednesday night. Just four weeks ago, Tobin posted a black and white Instagram picture of herself kissing Bendik on the cheek. [above] As word of Bendik’s death spread, Tobin’s fans posted messages of support beneath the sweet photo. “Stay strong Becca!” wrote one of them, Brittany Heath. “We love you!” Bendik, who ran the Hollywood hot spots DBA and AV, was a go-getter who was just 15 when he got into the nightclub business. Not much to say here other than, again, this is just awful. I wonder what happened. It sounds drug related, even though no drugs were found. I’m not sure what else could happen though to a 35-year-old to cause sudden death. But right now, it could be anything, so it isn’t fair to jump to conclusions. I think speculation is okay though.
