Embed from Getty Images I know that hardly a day goes by without a mention of omnipresent pop culture couple Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, but today we’ve got a story packed with intrigue and shenanigans! Many of our commenters have remarked that the relationship between the pop/ska princess and the country singing cowboy is about as convincing as the Whitney Houston hologram. Well, you may be onto something, as evidence suggests that Gwake’s PR people may be paying social media influencers to promote them. The Cut’s Allie Jones put on her Nancy Drew hat when she saw d-list faux celebrities and Instagram-famous individuals posting gushing endorsements for Gwake and their (still awful) single, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” on Instagram. What raised the red flag were a pair of posts which sounded like they may have come from somebody’s publicist. The first came from former Bachelor contestant, Becca Tilley. Tilly, who has over 700,000 followers, featured a shot of the couple singing their new duet at Blake’s album release party back on May 9. You can see the performance, if you haven’t had enough of them making goo-goo eyes at each other, below: This is strange as this happened a few weeks ago and Becca just posted this on Sunday. Becca wrote, “I have a weird obsession with these two right now!! Maybe they are in love but have realized what a auditory train wreck the song is. Blake’s still giving us “Aww, shucks,“ telling Entertainment Tonight, “I just like being with her, but when she’s all dolled up and we go places, it’s always fun for me. If she was here right now, not one person here would be looking at anybody else but her. It’s just cool to know that’s who I came here with.” He even wrote the song “A Guy with a Girl” from his new album If I’m Honest for her…that is, if he really is being honest! Blake made an appearance on Ellen recently and, to add more fuel to this latest fire, joked, “The last year of my life has been nuts, it’s been crazy, I just figure if all the magazines are going to cash in on me, I might as well too.” Hmmm… I get Blake and Gwen doing self-promotion on Instagram, but having third parties publicize their relationship and song is all kinds of tacky. Is anyone else rethinking their stance on these two after these interesting accusations? I have to admit I am – and I like both of them. Sick of them, yes, but I don’t dislike them. I’m very curious to see how this plays out. Angelina Jolie’s film career has been sidelined largely by her own choice for a while now, especially in the past year. After the terrible reviews of By the Sea, Angelina has spent months focusing on her humanitarian work. Brad is currently filming a movie with Marion Cotillard in England and all over Europe, and so Angelina and the kids have been calling London home for months. It’s been a good phase for Angelina, mostly because I think she really has just been focusing completely on humanitarian work. She’s set up a new advocacy partnership focusing on sexual crimes in conflict and war. She also gave an amazing speech at the BBC last week. And now this… Dame Saint Angelina is now Professor Dame Saint Angelina. Angelina Jolie Pitt is taking her passion for women’s rights and gender equality to the classroom. The actress, 40, is set to join the London School of Economics as a visiting professor for the new masters course on women, peace and security for the 2016-2017 school year. As a visiting professor, Jolie Pitt will deliver guest lectures, participate in workshop and public events, and continue research on projects. “I am very encouraged by the creation of this master’s programme. I hope other academic institutions will follow this example, as it is vital that we broaden the discussion on how to advance women’s rights and end impunity for crimes that disproportionately affect women, such as sexual violence in conflict,” Jolie Pitt said in a statement. “I am looking forward to teaching and to learning from the students as well as to sharing my own experiences of working alongside governments and the United Nations.” The course, which is the first of its kind internationally, was launched last year by Jolie Pitt and Britain’s former foreign secretary, William Hauge – who will also serve as a visiting professor. The Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security Ambassador Melanne Verveer said they, too, are looking forward to bringing the program to the stateside campus. “I was pleased to meet with Angelina Jolie during my recent trip to London on ways we at Georgetown University can continue the collaboration between our sister programs on both sides of the Atlantic,” said Verveer. “We look forward to welcoming Angelina and former foreign secretary Hague to Georgetown in the future.” [From People] I would have loved to take a class with a Professor Jolie. The class seems tailored to her expertise too, and the LSE is also where Jolie and William Hague founded the Centre on Women, Peace and Security last year. My guess is that Jolie’s professorship will be part of the new center/program. Can you even imagine being a masters student and having Angelina Jolie walk into the classroom? George Zimmerman Sells Gun Used to Kill Trayvon Martin for Disgustingly Large Sum

Last week, it was widely reported that murderous professional Internet troll and sentient colon polyp George Zimmerman planned to auction off the gun he used to kill Trayvon Martin. In a description he posted on the United Gun Group’s website, Zimmerman described the weapon as a “piece of American history” because that’s a normal way to view the gun used to kill a teenager – if, of course, you were born to bring evil into the world, a la Viggo the Carpathian from Ghostbusters II. Zimmerman opened the bidding at $5,000. Proving that there’s still some good in the world, the auction quickly became so overwhelmed with fake bids that the UGG’s website crashed. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to halt the sale of the weapon, as the site continued to host the auction, just with a complex email verification process in place of its usual login. It’s partially because of the increased security that we don’t know exactly how much the gun sold for, but TMZ is reporting that the auction netted Zimmerman a nauseating $120,000. And what will he use the money for? Well, if you know anything about Zimmerman, you won’t be surprised to learn that he’s donating the proceeds to legal groups that fight against the Black Lives Matter movement and anti-Hillary Clinton Super PACs. Clearly a man with no politically- or racially-charged axe to grind whatsoever. And for those who don’t know much about Zimmerman, we recommend you take a gander at what he’s been up to in the years since his controversial murder trial. Highlights include hitting his girlfriend with a wine bottle and initiating more unecessary gunplay because we imagine if you could see the world through George Zimmerman’s eyes, it would look like a first-person shooter game. There are rumors that a famous figure (some say Kendrick Lamar) purchased the gun just to destroy it. We’d like to believe that, but it seems too good to be true. Woody Allen’s Café Society is the opening night premiere of the Cannes Film Festival, and these are the photos from the day-time photocall for the film. Woody Allen, Jesse Eisenberg, Corey Stoll, Kristen Stewart and Blake Lively all came out for the photocall. And it was awkward. It was awkward because Blake didn’t wear a bra. And it was awkward because Woody Allen is Woody Allen. As for the fashion… Kristen wore a Chanel skirt and top, plus she completed the look with some awesome Louboutin heels – the Louboutins are “Pigalle Follies marble pumps” and they are rather fabulous. I actually like K-Stew’s pencil skirt and I think this is a great silhouette for her, but the midriff-baring t-shirt looks like something grungy that’s been in her closet for a while. My biggest qualm about Kristen’s look is that her hair is so NOT CUTE here. I’m fine with the bleach-blonde and I’m fine with the cut. But don’t do a center part. And wash your hair, for Christ’s sake. Blake Lively wore the first LOOK AT ME ensemble of this year’s Cannes – her red jumpsuit is Juan Carlos Obando and it’s fine. She barely even looks pregnant, although her bust has increased in size, and it wouldn’t hurt Blake to choose some ensembles with some built-in support for her girls, you know? Reality TV and music’s current “cute couple,” Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, used the show that brought them together, The Voice, to debut their first of what I can assume will be many duets. “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” is from Blake’s upcoming album, If I’m Honest, which drops on May 20. If watching couples make goo-goo eyes at each other for 4 minutes makes you nauseous, I’d recommend you don’t watch the clip. If you are a fan of the couple or of love, give it a peek. Gwen’s hair looks amazing and the top of the gown is lovely – she loses me at the sheer part around her legs, as it makes the dress look unfinished. Blake’s looking pretty handsome though. As much of a cynic as I can be about the fleeting romances of celebrities, it really does appear that these two are smitten with each other. Their voices blend together better than I would have thought, but Gwen definitely doesn’t have a voice for country. The version on Blake’s album is better than the live one, because of recording studio wizardry, but Gwake’s chemistry kind of sells the song in the clip. During the taping of the segment, Voice judge Pharrell Williams quipped “Aww, you guys look so cute,” but there didn’t appear to be much enthusiasm coming from the other judges. I do love how you don’t see one iota of excitement from Christina Aguilera and not much more than polite head nodding from Adam Levine. Gwen, being the social media maven she is, posted pictures of herself (with kudos to her stylists) before taking the stage on Instagram, as well as a cute pic of the couple sharing a pre-show smooch. @blakeshelton @nbcthevoice #goaheadandbreakmyheart tonight! He added, “We were a little nervous at first as to how people would receive it, because it’s not written in a traditional way at all.” He went on to tell Extra: Originally, when I started the song, I was just, I was only trying to impress her, you know, just trying to write her a song to get her excited about me, and I sent her the song half-finished and she wrote the other half of the song, so it’s such a 50/50 emotionally-invested thing. I do have to admit that watching the clips of Blake, I never realized how downright charming he is. I kind of have a little crush on him now. I can see how Gwen fell for him. Voice showrunner Mark Burnett took some time away from promoting his upcoming remake of Ben Hur (WHY?) he produced to share his thoughts on the couple, telling ET, I was there in those dark moments because we were working together at the time, it was their private lives but it spills over. And then I said to Blake and Gwen, ‘Imagine in your darkest moments if someone showed you a videotape of right now, the love you have, wouldn’t it be great?’ And they’re both smiling. Prince Harry is having the time of his life in Florida for the Invictus Games

The Invictus Games officially begin today, but Prince Harry (King Dirty Ginger Snap) has already been in Florida for days. On Friday and Saturday, Harry was participating in the welcoming events, holding babies, kissing puppies, shaking hands with veterans and generally being lovely and adorable. Interestingly enough, I think Poor Jason (the PR guy for the Cambridges and Harry) is with Harry in Florida. Just before Jason released a slew of lovely Harry photos, the KensingtonRoyal Twitter released some information about upcoming events involving Prince William. Because of course Harry can’t just have a moment. Speaking of Harry’s moment, I loved this story from People Magazine: Over breakfast at the Warrior Games in Colorado in 2013, Prince Harry turned to friend David Wiseman and said: “We’re going to bring this idea back to the U.K. and make it massive.” Now, two years on from the first Paralympic-style Invictus Games in London, the excitement is building for second event, which will kick off in Orlando, Florida, on Sunday. “It’s going to be such a fantastic atmosphere which the athletes will draw from,” U.K team captain Wiseman says. While Harry’s hopes for the UK version were big “if he had said there would be the First Lady and former President Bush at a games in Orlando a few years later I would have said ‘wow,’ ” Wiseman adds. “The world is watching this and hopefully lots of people can drawn inspiration from the amazing men and women competing in sport here. There’s going to be a lot of razzmataz.” Wiseman, who qualified for four swimming races in preliminary races on Saturday, was speaking to reporters after Harry had visited the swimming pool. “He has been knocking around for the last couple of days. He has a good, natural affinity with the veterans and service personnel. He belongs to that community and he can just rock up and whoever you are can stand here having a chat with the competitors. It’s natural, it’s genuine.” [From People] What I enjoy is that Harry always gives credit where it’s due: the American Warrior Games were his inspiration, and he wanted to make it bigger and more inclusive to veterans around the world. And Wiseman is right, Harry is natural and genuine. Always, but especially around veterans. And children. And puppies. And everyone else. Here are some photos of Tom Hiddleston outside of BBC Radio 2 today, Friday. I don’t know why he was carrying his guitar, but God bless. He’s that guy, maybe. The one who likes to bring his guitar everywhere just to serenade the ladies. At Radio 2, Tom ran into the Duchess of Cornwall and he put his arm around her while they were posing for photos – that’s a breach of protocol, but Camilla didn’t mind. Tom arrived back in London a few days ago, judging from his Twitter, and he’s really happy to be back after four months of non-stop travel. So, let’s take a moment and honor what is the end of Tom Hiddleston’s crazy American tour. He was in the US for the better part of two months, promoting back-to-back film and TV projects, a tour which culminated with a slew of appearances just in the past week, from his trip to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner to his first-ever appearance at the Met Gala and the release of his charming Esquire UK cover interview too. Before he left America, Tom did chat with the Press Association about how he ended up dancing the night away with Taylor Swift at the Met Gala. The videos of Taylor and Tom’s dancing went viral following the gala, and everyone wants to know how it came about. Tom explained: “I love dancing, who doesn’t?” Hiddleston told the Press Association in a recent interview. “It’s a weird one (that it went viral). I haven’t actually danced for a long time, but I happened to be dancing at the Met Gala, because it was a party. I was on a table with Taylor Swift and The Weeknd was playing and she said, ‘The thing about these parties is nobody gets up to dance,’” he continued. “She, as a musician, was like, ‘We’ve got to dance for The Weeknd!’ so we got up and danced.” [From ET] So, Taylor was the one whispering, “I wish someone would dance…” and Tom, ever the gentleman, was like, “Sure, let’s do it!” And he threw himself into with abandon.
