Jennifer Garner isn’t dating her accountant, which is just too bad

Embed from Getty Images Last week, photos came out of Jennifer Garner out with a handsome tall dark-haired man, which seems like her type judging by her two husbands, who was said to be her accountant. The Daily Mail ran a story trying to cook up a romance between the two, but I didn’t mention it because it seemed like there was nothing there. She looked very happy, but she often looks happy when she’s papped for whatever reason. Plus, it was already established that the guy was her accountant. Maybe he just told her how to save a ton on taxes or something. One simple trick. The US Government hates him! Star ran the story this week in their current edition and Gossip Cop got a denial. The guy wasn’t her accountant, The Daily Mail got that detail wrong and then Star ran with it, he’s the husband of her manager, who was out with them at the time. Garner was “spotted with the finance fox outside of office hours on June 4 at SoHo House in Malibu,” writes Star. A so-called “spy” is quoted as saying, “They were with a friend, but Jen didn’t seem to care. She had on the biggest grin, batting her lashes and giggling at all of his jokes. She just melted.” The magazine even describes Garner as “acting more like a googly-eyed teen” than a mother of three. And what about estranged husband Ben Affleck? “Ben knows he doesn’t have a leg to stand on, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t jealous,” a supposed “pal” claims. “He’s got his eye on this guy.” Uh, actually, he doesn’t, and he doesn’t need to. There is nothing going on between Garner and the man Star can’t even identify by name. Gossip Cop has exclusively learned that the guy in question is actually the husband of Garner’s longtime manager. What’s more is that he isn’t even the star’s accountant. Basically, Star took a photo of Garner, ignored the fact that the aforementioned “friend” with her was her manager, and tried to make it look like she was dating someone who is very much married. And that means the Affleck quotes are either made up or from a very misinformed “pal.” In any case, the tabloid couldn’t be more wrong here. [From Gossip Cop] Garner does look kind of thrilled to be out with that guy, you can see why the tabloids would assume there’s something going on. In the photos that Daily Mail ran you couldn’t even see that there was another person with them, although it was mentioned. However I’ve seen other photos of Jennifer Garner out with people, like the one of her with a friend last week (below), and she beams at her female friend like that too. I would love it if Garner dated someone new and pulled a Taylor Swift complete with a pap rollout. That would tell Ben she’s over it. Alas, it’s not to be. Earlier this week, Radar Online reported that Ben was delaying the divorce because he didn’t want to pony up and part with a large chunk of his fortune. That actually makes sense to me, because it’s got to be complicated and expensive to divide their assets. However GC also got a denial on that one. Their source used some curious wording though. They said “there’s real love and admiration” between them but they’re not planning to reconcile. From all that we’ve seen of their back and forth in the celebrity-friendly press, it sounds like they’re still unsure when and if they’re going to divorce. Kate Bosworth doesn’t eat wheat, sugar or dairy, follows 80/20 diet

These are photos of Kate Bosworth in New York on June 3rd. She was at the launch of an acne treatment, where she was quite overdressed in a pink gown, and out casually dressed in bell bottoms, fug patent flats, and a sleeves striped scoop neck sweater. Self Magazine spoke to Kate at the skincare event about her diet and exercise regime because that’s their subject matter and no one wants to hear what she thinks about fashion. Kate said that she’s on an 80/20 diet, similar to the diets that Gisele Bundchen and Olivia Munn follow, in that she eats a very restrictive diet 80% of the time with indulgences the other 20%. She said that she doesn’t eat wheat, dairy or sugar most of the time but does make allowances when she’s on vacation. I would assume that she eats a very calorie restricted diet regardless, just because she’s so small. She doesn’t look as thin as we’ve seen her in the past though and she does seem healthier overall. “One day in my mid-20s it hit me that I can’t have a burger for lunch. I’m going to fall asleep,” she said in a recent one-on-one interview with SELF during the launch of Aczone Gel 7.5 percent, a topical acne treatment. So what’s in her fridge to keep her going through the post-lunch slump? Bosworth stocks up on lean meat, fruits, avocados, walnuts, eggs, and olive oil—ingredients packed with healthy fats. And while she’s filming The Art of More, she is following a wheat-free, sugar-free, dairy-free meal plan (except for goat cheese and goat milk). For Bosworth, a typical breakfast might include a goat cheese omelet with avocado and tomatoes. But of course, the 33-year-old actress has that one thing she could never cut out. “Ketchup is the indulgence that I never give up. Ketchup on everything,” she said. Bosworth knows that although this diet is delicious, it’s a bit strict. And she revealed that she only eats this way 80 percent of the time. When she goes to Montana to spend time with her husband Michael Polish, it’s a totally different story. She’s drinking whiskey, chowing down on burgers, and cooking ragu in between riding horses and swimming. So you could say that her healthy living plan subscribes to the “all things in moderation” adage. And that’s her same philosophy when it comes to exercise. “I had a hard time with my exercise routine because I felt like it had to be an hour, and it had to be really rigorous and intense,” she said. “Then, I realized you can go down and get on the treadmill for 20 minutes, and you’ve done something.” And something is always better than nothing! [From Self] I have the same question I had about Olivia Munn’s 80/20 diet, how do you count that exactly? Do you just eat well 8 days out of 10 or is it only a rough estimate? In terms of burgers making you tired, on Saturday I actually had a burger for lunch and noticed that I got very sleepy afterwards. (I do eat burgers but only once every couple of weeks and for dinner, so my body wasn’t used to it.) I also can relate to pushing yourself too hard while exercising, just because I don’t feel like I accomplish anything if I don’t work hard for an hour or more. As one of my spin instructors says however, abs are made in the kitchen. It looks like Kate’s kitchen is very regimented. I hate this idea that you have to give up entire food groups to lose weight or keep it off though, it makes a lot of people think it’s impossible. photos credit: FameFlynet

Ruby Rose had just performed at Pulse nightclub: ‘nothing I can do but cry’

As most of you unfortunately know by now, a man whose name I will not dignify by writing walked into the Orlando nightclub Pulse early Sunday morning and committed a heinous act, the worst mass shooting in US history. Among those for whom this hit far too close to home was actor and DJ Ruby Rose. Ruby is a strong voice and advocate for the LGBTQ community and had just recently done a gig at Pulse. Ruby Rose has shared an emotional social media post after the horrific Orlando mass shooting, revealing she performed in the city where 50 people were slain only last week. “Woke up in tears to hear the news about Orlando. Devastated, heartbroken, sick,” the Aussie actor and DJ posted on Facebook and Instagram. “I played there last Friday and last night I performed after Pride in LA. From the DJ booth you see laughter, love, dancing freedom and beautiful people living their lives not harming anyone. It’s one of the beautiful things to see from stage.” “This horrific tragedy has me on my knees at the mercy of a greater power to ask the simple question of ‘When will this end’ … I’m praying for Orlando, I’m crying for Orlando and I am there with you in spirit sending my love and strength.” [From Page Six] I cannot begin to imagine what it would be like for Ruby to have been in that location, celebrating one day and waking up to find out that about a week later 50 lives were taken there. I had a loose connection to the UCLA shooting earlier this month and the chill of having proximity to tragedy is hard to shake. The heartbreak from this tragic event is far reaching. J.K. Rowling posted the following to her Twitter Sunday to honor one of the victims, Luis Vielma. Luis worked on the Harry Potter ride at Universal Studios in Orlando: Luis Vielma worked on the Harry Potter ride at Universal. He was 22 years old. I have a friend at Disneyland, Anaheim and all cast members are devastated. Even if they had not met their East Coast counterparts, there is a real sense of family among the parks. I absolutely believe J.K. feels Luis’ loss personally. You can see a couple of general tributes posted by the cast members here and here. The Daily Beast has profiles and photos of many of the young people whose lives were cut tragically short. I don’t know how to close this post with the proper respect. Please know my heart goes out to anyone and all affected by this. Duchess Kate in blue Roland Mouret at the SportsAid gala: lovely or boring?

I happened to be on Twitter as the @KensingtonRoyal account was live-tweeting the Duchess of Cambridge’s “arrival” at the SportsAid event last night. What was absolutely hilarious to me was that Kate’s official Twitter was making such a big deal about her “arrival”… at Kensington Palace. Literally, she “arrived” at her home. She walked outside to what is basically her backyard. This was also Kate’s first work event since she and William attended the Queen’s garden party on May 24th. Because she’s so keen to work, you guys! At least Kate gave us a new gown to examine, which is nice. I was getting tired of the repeats, mostly because she was repeating some of the worst pieces in her closet and styling those looks in the same old way. Her gown for this SportsAid reception was by Roland Mouret. She’s worn Mouret’s gowns before, to decent results. I like this gown for the most part. I have an issue with the bust though. Mouret is known for beautiful structure, and many of his gowns have an almost origami-like feel which needs proper tailoring. So is it the tailoring that’s off, or does Kate need a different bra? Am I the only one seeing that? The reception also involved a dinner (of beef, asparagus and pudding) and a speech by Kate, the video of which will probably be hidden away in some vault with all of Kate’s extra wiglets. Kensington Palace only released a transcript. Here is the speech in full: Good evening ladies and gentlemen. It is an absolute pleasure to be here with you to celebrate SportsAid’s 40th anniversary. Some of you may know that I love sport. I love cheering on teams and athletes that I am passionate about. I love the physical challenge sport presents and the mental strength it gives us all. And I love the way it so often brings people together to work as part of a team. I suspect many of you in this room may feel the same. The brilliance of SportsAid is in really understanding just how much athletic competition gives to our country as a whole. By investing in young sporting talent, they ensure that there is a strong pipeline of inspirational heroes. These athletes then serve as motivators to everyone in the UK to get involved, get active, and embrace the power of sport to make us happier and healthier. With little over 50 days to go until the Games begin in Rio; the next Olympiad is almost here. As we did in London in 2012, we will see a new generation of sporting stars emerge into the spotlight. We cannot wait to meet the next SportsAid champions – the next Chris Hoys and Katherine Graingers who will remind us all of the magic and the power of sport. So thank you all for supporting the incredible work of SportsAid. I am immensely proud to be their Patron and I can’t wait to cheer on our team competing in Rio. I do hope you enjoy tonight’s very special occasion. Thank you. [From Royal.uk] I was going to write some republican diatribe, but I’ll save it for another day. This is your future queen, Great Britain. I hope you can picture the hair tosses when you read the words “I love cheering on teams and athletes that I am passionate about.” People Magazine also had a lengthy write-up about this event, complete with sugary quotes from some of the people in attendance about how wonderful it is that Kate is so “curious about sport” and how amazing it was that she asked the young athletes if they were nervous. The CEO of SportsAid also made sure to mention that Kate is very “keen.” Yes, very keen. Photos courtesy of Pacific Coast News.

Maria Sharapova gets to keep her sponsorships with Nike, Evian & Head

As we discussed yesterday, Maria Sharapova received a two-year ban on professional tennis after she admitted (after she tested positive) to using a banned substance. Sharapova’s version of the verdict is that the ITF found that she did not intentionally use banned substances, that it was all some big misunderstanding. But if you read the full decision – you can see the PDF file of the decision here – you might realize that the ITF investigated Sharapova thoroughly and they had many good reasons for implementing the two-year ban. Still, most people aren’t going to delve that deeply into it, especially because Sharapova is going to appeal the decision and she’s still fronting like she really didn’t do anything wrong. What’s surprising is that so many of Sharapova’s sponsors aren’t delving too deeply into the ITF’s decision either. Many of the sponsors are sticking with her. Shock of shocks. Maria Sharapova has found support from sponsors after being given a two-year suspension for failing a drugs test at the Australian Open. Sharapova has vowed to fight the ban, announced by the International Tennis Federation on Wednesday, after she tested positive for prohibited substance meldonium and high-profile sponsors Nike, Head and Evian are standing by the Russian, with Nike lifting the suspension they imposed on their contract when news of her failed drugs test emerged in March. At the time of the failed test, the sportswear company said it was putting its eight-year, $70m deal on hold. But in a statement on Wednesday night, it said that it had decided to continue working with Sharapova. “The ITF Tribunal has found that Maria did not intentionally break its rules. Maria has always made her position clear, has apologised for her mistake and is now appealing the length of the ban,” read Nike’s statement. “Based on the decision of the ITF and their factual findings, we hope to see Maria back on court and will continue to partner with her.” Sharapova’s racket provider Head never wavered in its support of her, citing her as a “role model and woman of integrity” at the time of her failed test and proceeding to extend her deal. On Thursday, Evian said in a statement: “The ITF tribunal concluded that Maria Sharapova’s contravention was not intentional. Following this announcement, Evian has decided to maintain its long-lasting relationship with the champion.” Two of Sharapova’s other sponsors, watchmaker Tag Heuer and luxury car brand Porsche, have been less supportive. Porsche suspended activities with Sharapova following her failed test, and will now wait for the verdict to her appeal to the Court of Arbitration to Sport. The company said in a statement: “We have taken note of the recent International Tennis Federation ruling in the case of Maria Sharapova and are especially aware that it was decided that she was not accused of intentionally violating the World Anti-Doping Code. As Maria will appeal the decision, we will continue to keep all activities with her on hold until the final judgement has been reached.” Tag Heuer announced in March it had decided not to renew Sharapova’s contract, but has not ruled out working with her again in the future. Cosmetics brand Avon are also severing ties with Sharapova but insist that is not because of her doping ban. A spokesperson said: “Avon’s relationship with Maria Sharapova was a limited engagement that focused on one of our fragrances. The engagement is set to expire and we had not planned to extend this relationship regardless of the current situation.” [From The Guardian] The biggest deal was Nike, because that’s her most lucrative contract, and I’m absolutely shocked that they’re sticking with her. While Sharapova has always been more of a model than a professional tennis player, surely it’s bad business for an athleticswear company to continue spending tens of millions of dollars on an athlete banned from her sport following a thorough investigation? Surely it would just be easier for Nike to sever ties with Sharapova – for good cause, mind you – and start over with another player? And of course there’s a larger conversation to be had about privilege and what the reaction would have been if one of the Williams sisters had tested positive. Can anyone say that this would have the reaction if Serena was in this situation? Photos courtesy of WENN.

Kate Moss & her 13-year-old daughter Lila Grace cover Vogue Italia: sweet?

Perhaps the “in” thing for magazines this year is mother-daughter covers? Cindy Crawford and her 14-year-old daughter Kaia covered Vogue Paris several months back, and many people loved and praised the image. And now this – Kate Moss and her 13-year-old daughter Lila Grace cover the new issue of Vogue Italia. Thoughts? I think Lila will look more like her mom as she gets into her mid-to-late teens. Right now, she’s just an interesting blend of both of her parents (her dad is Jefferson Hack). When Cindy and Kaia covered Vogue Paris in March, I sort of assumed that Cindy was trying to gently open some doors for her daughter, who already has representation at a modeling agency. Like, the deal between Kaia and Cindy is that Kaia can model but only if Cindy gets to be hands-on about her career. I wonder about Lila and Kate’s dynamic, whether Lila is even interested in modeling like her famous mum, or if Lila is just a normal kid, untouched by her mother’s career. Jefferson Hack did provide some clues in a recent interview, saying: “I spend a lot of time with Lila Grace. She’s 13 and my relationship with her and her mum, Kate, is the thing I’m most proud of. That is life with a capital L. Everything else is window dressing. I have Lila at least one night in the week and every other weekend. We use FaceTime most evenings. She thinks me and her mum are deeply uncool. I don’t think her music tastes are cool – Capital radio and Justin Bieber. She keeps me real. I’m not on Snapchat. It’s wrong when parents act like their kids. I don’t buy into the ‘my mum’s my best friend’ ethos. Kate’s a great mum and they have a fantastic relationship.” [From The Daily Mirror] Yes, when you’re 13 years old, everything about your parents is deeply and profoundly uncool, even if your mother is literally the coolest person in England. In Kate’s recent Edit cover interview, she even admitted that Lila isn’t even into clothes right now. So now I’m imagining Kate and Lila as Edina Monsoon and Saffy. It would be absolutely amazing if Kate Moss ended up with a tightly-wound conservative daughter who has no interest in clothes or cool parties. Ashley Graham in Michael Kors at the CFDAs: gorgeous or tragic?

More photos from the CFDAs, which were pretty well-attended. And what’s shocking is that the attendees weren’t just the same old models – look at Ashley Graham, who is pretty much the It Model of 2016. Ashley has been everywhere this year, and I’m so happy that she got an invite to the CFDAs. Is it too much to hope that Anna Wintour would actually dare to use Ashley in a Vogue editorial? Ashley’s dress here is Michael Kors and she looks great. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also wore Michael Kors and she looks like a game show hostess. Literally, I think Vanna White has worn this. Julianne Hough in Michael Kors… is it wrong that I really like this? Tilda Swinton looks so comfortable. Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte. Kiki has gotten her sartorial mojo back in a big way post-Garrett Hedlund, but I’m not crazy about this – the off-kilter peplum is awful and the shoes are the worst. Alexander Skarsgard & Alexa Chung are still together but they didn’t walk the carpet together, for reasons. Alexa wore Tom Ford Prabal Gurung and it’s awful. That ruffle hurts my soul. Beyonce didn’t walk the carpet, but she came out to receive the CFDA Fashion Icon Award. And this is what she wore! She looks very Solange-y in this ensemble.
