Well surprise surprise. Even though the tabloids would have you believe that Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling’s relationship is in tatters because he’s obviously got eyes for Emma Stone, the truth of the matter seems to be that Ryan and Eva are totally fine. So fine that she’s pregnant again! Eva Mendes has another bun in the oven! Multiple sources confirm exclusively to Us Weekly that the actress and her longtime boyfriend, Ryan Gosling, are expecting their second child together. According to a source, the mom of daughter Esmeralda, 17 months, was spotted hiding her burgeoning bump during a photo shoot in Los Angeles in February. In an October 9 interview on the Today Show, Mendes, 41, revealed that she’s taking a break from Hollywood to focus on her family. “If I’m even like, ‘Oh, what should I wear? Or, should I do this project? All I have to think about is my daughter and her face, and I know the answer immediately,” the Lost River actress said. “She’s my moral compass in a way.” [From Us Weekly] People Magazine seems to be confirming the news, and the Daily Mail has the photos of Eva “hiding her bump” here. It’s a lot like the Blake Lively thing earlier this week – Eva just looks knocked up even though we can’t really see a bump. What surprises me more than anything is that Eva is 42 years old… officially, although there’s always been gossip about how she’s shaved a few years off. And she seemingly got knocked up without any fertility treatment drama. Granted, we don’t know for sure, but it seems like she just wanted another baby and she got pregnant pretty quickly. Eva Mendes & Ryan Gosling: Expecting Second Child!

Congratulations are in order for Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling. The couple are expecting their second child together, according to Us Weekly, which reported that “multiple sources” have confirmed the news. Thus far, there’s no word on how far along she is in her pregnancy or the sex of the baby. Mendes has been taking a break from the spotlight, so there’s not even a pic of the bump to comment on. The genetically blessed couple have been dating since 2011, after they met on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines. They welcomed their first baby, Esmerelda Amada, in 2014. During Mendes’ first pregnancy, the pair kept the baby news secret for some time. But the laws of basic biology eventually precluded them from hiding it for too long. Now that little Esmerelda is here, the couple couldn’t be happier. “She and Ryan are just in awe of this beautiful person they created,” a source close to Mendes told People. “It’s a really special time for them.” And while breakup rumors have flitted about as they do with every celebrity couple, Gosling has done nothing but gush over his longtime love. “I know that I’m with the person I’m supposed to be with,” he told HELLO! last  December. When asked what he looks for in a mate, he gave a response that left half the female population in a mournful search for Ben & Jerry’s and Xanax. “That she’s Eva Mendes,” Gosling said. “There’s nothing else I’m looking for.” And that’s a freaking leading man for you. For months/years, there’s been a steady stream of split rumors about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Sometimes we talk about the rumors, but for the most part, we ignore them. I actually feel a little bit sorry for the tabloids because “Brangelina Split!” just doesn’t have the same kind of urgency that it once did. Sure, if you want to gossip about how By the Sea was a total failure and their relationship might be strained because of it, let’s do that. But we don’t have to pretend that Angelina and Brad still get crazy jealous about costars or whatever. Anyway, as we discussed a few weeks ago, Brad Pitt & Marion Cotillard are working together on the World War II-era espionage film Five Seconds of Silence. According to In Touch, Brad and Marion are getting along really well. So well that Angelina is so, so jelly. Things are going a little too well on the set of Brad Pitt’s upcoming flick ‘Five Seconds of Silence’ – and Angelina Jolie is not happy about it! “Brad it really bonding with his co-star Marion Cotillard,” a source tells In Touch. “They’re flirting and sharing jokes between takes.” That’s troubling for Angelina, with a source claiming: “Brad has become Marion’s one-man fan club. He comes home raving about how classy and talented she is and how much he loves her French accent. Angelina can’t stand it!” Even though there’s no romance between Brad and Marion, recently Angelina became so furious, she walked out. “She went to see Jack O’Connell in a play 140 miles from their home in London. She knew it would get under Brad’s skin.” It worked, and now the pair – who were already having marital issues – are more at odds than ever. “They have both been pushed to the brink. I imagine Brad did cry when Angelina “walked out”… to attend the play starring her friend. Personally, I would believe the Jack and Angelina hookup stories before I would believe Brad and Marion are happening. Marion – while beautiful and talented – is sort of a nutburger. In Touch: Drew Barrymore & Will have been separated for a year

Embed from Getty Images The tabloids reported last fall that Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman were having problems and had been living apart for a while. Then of course they announced last Friday that they were formally splitting and planned to divorce soon. In Touch now claims that Drew is the one who decided to separate after she had a personal revelation during her 40th birthday vacation that she was unhappy in her marriage. This is consistent with everything we’ve heard in major celebrity outlets, and it’s not surprising that there’s a specific moment when Drew decided to leave. That seems so much like her. In Touch magazine, on newsstands tomorrow, is reporting that a turning point for Drew came in February 2015, when she turned 40. She took a trip to Hawaii and realized how unhappy she was. “Inside, she was crying,” a family insider tells In Touch. “She felt like she wasn’t in control of her life anymore.” Things got worse quickly. “Drew began contacting her attorneys in the fall of 2015,” the family insider adds. “She tried to keep it together for as long as she could, but their relationship was broken beyond repair.” “Part of the problem is that Drew and Will are total opposites. He’s very organized and used to keeping a schedule, and Drew’s flighty, always late and is truly a wild child at heart,” the family insider tells In Touch. “Because she came from a broken family, Drew tried so hard to play the devoted wife role. She desperately wanted that sense of family and stability, and for a while she thought she found that in Will.” But in 2014, she returned to the big screen with the Adam Sandler dud Blended. “At that point, she wanted to ramp up her career again and Will didn’t want her to,” says the family insider. “They fought bitterly about it.” Adds a source close to Drew, “There was no infidelity, nothing dramatic like that. This has been going on for a long time. They’ve been working on their issues. In the end, they feel like, ‘This is a bummer. We tried.’” The couple remains on good terms. “They are still living together,” says the source close to Drew. “They have places in NYC and in LA. Both are in LA right now, living in the same house.” [From In Touch] That sounds about right, and we’ve heard it several times now – Drew was unhappy, she did some soul searching, they tried for a while and ultimately ended it. It’s sad but it happens to so many couples. They seem to be putting their kids first and focusing on what matters. E! also has an insider story about Drew, and it reinforces the narratives in US Magazine and People this week. Their insider says that “This was a slow burn. It was not a decision that they came to over night. They worked on things for a long time and have had time to adjust.” As I mentioned yesterday, this sounds so much like all the stories around the Garner-Affleck split and I don’t think that’s a coincidence. Drew’s longterm friend, Cameron Diaz, was on Andy Cohen’s XM show promoting her new book recently. Andy asked her if she’d reached out to Drew after hearing about her split and she responded in general terms, but it sounds like she has. She said “Everybody pulls the wagons around, you know, our friends, whoever needs us in whatever point in time. Even if it’s something that the public doesn’t know about. Internally we’re all going, like, ‘OK, who needs us now?’ And that really is, I think, a major part of the connectivity we need. We need to keep those things connected.” So it sounds like Cameron has known for some time that Drew is having relationship trouble. Drew just talked about Cameron in her Marie Claire interview so I don’t doubt that Cameron has been helping her. Plus she recently Instagrammed this: I am so proud of my dearest girlfriend. On Sunday, we covered the first photos we had of Benedict Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor filming Doctor Strange in NYC. It felt like the collective reaction to the pics was “meh,” which is sad because Doctor Strange is sort of a big deal in the Marvel universe. Meaning, Marvel put a lot of time and money into finding the right Doctor Strange, and they’ve already been filming it for months, at a likely exorbitant cost. The film comes out in November and Marvel really, really needs people to be excited about it. I fear all the Marvel nerds are more geared up for Captain America: Civil War. But maybe they’ll excited about Strange whenever we get a trailer. Anyway, these are more photos from the set. They filmed throughout the weekend and it looked like the same sequence, something involving Chiwetel and Benedict running around pretending to shoot magical beams of Strange Magic. We also got some photos of Mads Mikkelsen, who is reportedly playing the villain or a villain. Check out his crazy eye makeup! So, between Mads, Benedict and Chiwetel, who would you rather? That’s such a tough call, isn’t it? How about Marry, Screw, Kill: Chiwetel, Bendy and Mads. Marry Chiwetel. Screw Bendy. And kill Mads? The Walking Dead finale: who met Lucille and who was safe? (spoilers)

Spoilers from last night’s finale of The Walking Dead Last night’s hour and a half finale of The Walking Dead seemed to epitomize all that was wrong with this season. There was a lot of filler and some genuinely tense moments, but it ended on a cliffhanger that left fans frustrated. At the end we got to see Negan, the big bad from the Saviors, played by the incredible Jeffrey Dean Morgan. He was definitely scary but more of a sympathetic character than I was expecting. Negan’s long speech to the crouching Alexandrites made sense to me. I especially liked how he explained that this was retribution for killing his men. “When I sent my people to kill your people for killing my people, you killed more of my people. Not cool.” He also said that he didn’t want to kill them, he just wanted them to work for him, which again sounded reasonable in context. As Morgan explained on Talking Dead afterwards, Rick’s people had killed over 20 Saviors, so Negan selecting just one person to kill was in no way extreme. The ending looked extreme to viewers though, especially when we were given just a few clues as to whom Negan actually killed. I can’t believe producers used that cheap tactic, yet again, after leaving Glenn’s fate up in the air for several episodes earlier this season. During the final scene at first I thought that Negan had selected Carl to kill, but he was actually instructing his men to cut out Carl’s eye and feed it to Rick if anyone tried to stop him. That means that Carl and Rick are safe. Highlight the text below to see speculative spoilers from the comics: In the comics, Glenn meets his end here, but we know that WD producers don’t follow the comics and Glenn was at the end of the line. It looked like Negan selected someone more in the middle. It may have been Abraham, who died earlier in the comics from a crossbow to the head by the Saviors. Denise died on the show in the same way that Abraham died in the comics, so producers may have subbed Abraham’s death for Glenn’s here. The rest of last night’s episode was just ok. I’m beginning to feel sorry for Morgan (the character, played by Lennie James), because his entire story arc with Carol just felt like filler. Morgan’s otherwise interesting backstory took up an entire episode earlier this season when we were waiting to hear what happened to Glenn. (Incidentally, that episode was also written by Scott M. Gimple, who was responsible for this one. Eff that guy.) Carol looked to be mortally injured when we last saw her, but Morgan and Carol coincidentally then ran into a couple of good looking nice guys in padded costumes. That seemed mildly ridiculous to me, like of course they’re going to fix up Carol and they’re going to be allies. Also ridiculous: father Gabriel being put in charge of Alexandria like he’s some trustworthy badass now when he’s always been a sniveling backstabber. As for the fate of Maggie’s pregnancy, I only hope that she doesn’t die. I’m not too concerned either way. Another baby would only be a liability in this universe. During Talking Dead, producer and this episode’s writer Scott Gimple very meekly explained the non-end. “The end of the story is what people saw and when we reveal who was on the receiving end, that’s going to be the start of another story… the effects from that.” He explained that he wanted viewers to feel suspense and terror like the core characters and that “We’re going to deliver you a story next season that justifies it.” Comic creator Robert Kirkman also said that he loved cliffhangers and defended it by saying “The cliffhanger isn’t the story.” He explained that the story was more about Rick’s transformation from being in charge to being beat down. It’s not like this blockbuster show is going to lose viewership if they wrap up lose ends. They don’t need to bait us to get us to watch next season. photos credit: AMC

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton: It’s Baby-Making Time!

So, things are moving along nicely for these two. It hasn’t been six months since Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton officially started dating, but let’s assume they want to make a baby together. Thankfully, In Touch has already set the scene.  The tabloid claims that Stefani, 46, “is freezing her eggs because she wants to have a baby with Blake.” Stefani has three boys with ex, Gavin Rossdale – Kingston,9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 2. The story goes on to mention what every woman loves to read about: the fact that her biological clock is ticking and the chances of conceiving a child diminish as she gets older. Fun! “She’d love to have a girl — plus Gwen knows her boys would love to have another sibling — and wants to give Blake this opportunity to have a child that biologically his,” a source told the tabloid. “But she doesn’t want her age to prevent this from happening.” Shelton, ever the gentleman, reportedly doesn’t want his lady love to fret. “Even though Blake is insisting he doesn’t need biological children, Gwen isn’t taking any chances.” In the April 2016 issue of Vanity Fair, Stefani didn’t elaborate too much on her relationship, but did confirm that she’s totes in L. “I think my spiritual journey is to have had these weird relationships and write music that people can somehow relate to,” Stefani,who just released her latest album, told the magazine. “I’ve never had a record that is almost all about being happy and in love.”
