Is 25-year-old Jennifer Lawrence dating 47-year-old Darren Aronofsky?

Back in January, Jennifer Lawrence was confirmed for a role in Darren Aronofsky’s next film, which is still untitled. The film is about “a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.” Aronofsky has written the script and he will direct it too. The film is either filming already, or it will be soon. Aronofsky was famously Rachel Weisz’s partner and baby-daddy for years, until she dumped him and married Daniel Craig. He then began seeing a Canadian woman named Brandi-Ann Milbradt, although I think that ended a few years back, maybe? I can’t find anything about her recently. And Jennifer Lawrence has been single-ish since her breakup with Chris Martin, although I think it’s more than possible that she went on some dates with Aziz Ansari. So… two single people, on a film set. What could go wrong? Jennifer Lawrence is Darren Araonofsky’s leading lady – in more ways than one! A source tells In Touch that J-Law, 25, is secretly dating the 47-year-old director, an Oscar nominee who has a son with his ex Rachel Weisz. “It started when they were in early discussions about the project. They began flirting, and soon they were hooking up. Now it’s getting serious,” says the source, adding that everyone on the set of the film (which is currently untitled) is buzzing about the romance. “Jennifer and Darren think they’re being sneaky, but it’s all anyone can talk about!” [From In Touch Weekly, print edition] Even though it’s In Touch, it would not surprise me if this was true. Aronofsky has a thing for his leading ladies, and there were always rumors that even while he was with Rachel Weisz, he had a thing with at least one other actress. I have no idea if that’s true, let me be clear. But there were always whispers. As for Jennifer… I feel like she settles sometimes? Not with Nicholas Hoult, obviously, because he’s adorable and I think they genuinely loved each other. But I think J-Law gets lonely and she just goes for whomever is available. Oh, and it also wouldn’t surprise me if 25-year-old J-Law had a thing with a 47-year-old director. I’m honestly surprised that hasn’t happened already. Here are some photos of J-Law out and about in NYC this week. You know who else lives in NYC? Darren Aronofsky! DUN DUN DUN. Photos courtesy of WENN, Fame/Flynet.

Leo DiCaprio throws shade at politicians who don’t believe in ‘modern science’

Here are some photos of Leonardo DiCaprio in Japan this week to promote the Japanese premiere of The Revenant. Japan usually gets films several months later than America and Europe, so this is no big deal. And Leo has a lot of Japanese fans, and many of them literally dressed up as bears to see him in Tokyo. During the press conference for the film, Leo was asked about one of his signature issues: the environment, or more specifically, the reality and politics of climate change. His answer was pretty pointed, even though he didn’t specifically name names. Fresh from his Oscar-winning role in “The Revenant,” Leonardo DiCaprio suggested Wednesday that his upcoming documentary on climate change could help raise awareness about a phenomenon that some US presidential candidates reject. DiCaprio said one of the collaborators for the film to be released before the November election was Fisher Stevens, a producer of the 2010 Oscar-winning documentary “The Cove” about dolphin-killing in the small Japanese town of Taiji. “We’ve been travelling around the world documenting climate change,” DiCaprio told a press conference in Tokyo, adding they visited China, India and the North Pole and South Pole. Though he did not offer any names, he said some candidates seeking the highest US office are falling short in their environmental attitudes. “We should not have a candidate who doesn’t believe in modern science to be leading our country,” he said. “Climate change is one of the most concerning issues facing all humanity and the United States needs to do its part.” Republican front-runner Donald Trump said last year he did not believe in climate change, while his key rival Ted Cruz has dismissed it as “pseudo-scientific theory”. [From AFP] While it seems like his statement is actually pretty obvious, and that the overwhelmingly majority of people would agree, it actually IS being treated as a controversy in the conservative media. Because they would disagree with the fundamental idea that the president of the United States should believe/know that climate change is real, that all of this is really happening. It is SCIENCE, despite what a handful of oil-and-gas “scientists” want to tell the GOP. That’s what I never understood about the GOP side of this argument – if they want to say that we shouldn’t do anything about climate change, then argue that point. Don’t make it into an argument about whether climate change is real, because yes, then you do sound anti-science. And dumb. Photos courtesy of WENN.

Garry Shandling has passed away at the age of 66

Garry Shandling passed away on Thursday, March 24, in Los Angeles at just 66 years old. Shandling was one of the most beloved and influential comedians of his generation, with a dry, deadpan wit and a penchant for observational humor. He was well-regarded, respected and adored within the acting and comedic communities. He was most famous for his two popular and Emmy-winning shows, The Larry Sanders Show (where he played a late-night talk show host) and the It’s Garry Shandling’s Show. You can see his IMDB here. I had actually forgotten that he was still getting acting work – he’s been in a handful of Marvel movies over the past few years. Shandling had recently been diagnosed with a hyper parathyroid gland, which he discussed on his last episode of Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. He apparently collapsed at his LA home on Thursday, then he was rushed to the hospital, which is where he passed away. Many are talking about Shandling’s appearance on that Seinfeld show – it’s an episode called “Isn’t It Great That Garry Shandling Is Still Alive” and you can watch it here. Twitter and the late-night shows were full of tributes to Shandling. Here are just a few along. RIP Garry Shandling and thank you for all the laughs. Fox News: Donald Trump has an ‘extreme, sick obsession’ with Megyn Kelly

It’s been said before, but it’s worth repeating: Megyn Kelly is Donald Trump’s “type.” She’s blonde and beautiful, she’s intelligent, she’s got a hard, conservative edge and even she admits that he spent years trying to “woo” her. She told Vanity Fair a few months ago that Trump would send press clippings to her (press clippings about her) and sign them “Donald Trump.” My belief is that Trump’s raging hate-on for Megyn these days is mostly the hate-on some men have for women who have spurned their advances. Like, when he’s trying to woo you, you are the most beautiful, magical creature and as soon as you tell him you’re not interested (or that you’re both married to other people), suddenly he’s calling you a crazy bitch and/or a flighty bimbo, and you’re definitely on the rag. As I mentioned last week, Trump has renewed his attacks on Megyn Kelly. He has been tweeting a lot about how no one should watch “crazy Megyn” and her Fox News show. He tweeted: “Everybody should boycott the @megynkelly show. Never worth watching. Always a hit on Trump! She is sick, & the most overrated person on tv.” And more. At this point, he’s the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, so it does seem… I don’t know? Petty? Misogynistic? Idiotic? All of the above? But I always think he sounds that way. But what was interesting is that Fox News is finally getting serious about defending one of their big talents. They issued a statement about Trump’s tweets, saying: “Donald Trump’s vitriolic attacks against Megan Kelly and his extreme, sick obsession with her is beneath the dignity of a presidential candidate who wants to occupy the highest office in the land,” Fox News said in a statement. “Megan is an exemplary journalist and one of the leading anchors in America — we’re extremely proud of her phenomenal work and continue to fully support her throughout every day of Trump’s endless barrage of crude and sexist verbal assaults.” [From Us Weekly] It feels like we’re through the looking glass, doesn’t it? I mean… I can’t remember a time when a political candidate running for the highest office in the land had to be publicly slammed by a cable news network for the misogynistic crap he was tweeting about a major news show anchor. And yes, I never thought I would write this, but: Fox News is right. Trump has an extreme, sick obsession with Megyn Kelly. And it feels like a creepy dude at a bar is mad at Megyn because she spurned his advances. Crazy @megynkelly says I don't (won't) go on her show and she still gets good ratings. But almost all of her shows are negative hits on me! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 19, 2016 If crazy @megynkelly didn't cover me so much on her terrible show, her ratings would totally tank. She is so average in so many ways! — Donald J. Prince Harry’s Nepal trip involved pretending to be a tiger & being adorable

In between his work with wounded veterans and his advance work for the Invictus Games in May, Prince Harry found time to make a trip to Nepal. These are some lovely photos of Harry over the weekend and today in Nepal. So far, he’s visited some of the sites destroyed by 2015 earthquake and he’s visited some Red Cross sites as they are still on the ground dealing with the humanitarian disaster. Like Prince William, Harry cares about conservation efforts. Unlike William, Harry doesn’t deflect to conservation work when he’s being criticized for being work-shy. Harry visited the Bardia National Park in search of tigers, but he didn’t get to see any. He did get to see an elephant though! And he got to play-act at being a tiger for the tiger camera-trap. When Harry signed the guest book, he literally signed it “Capt. Wales!” With an exclamation point, because he’s adorable. Tonight he’s going to be spending the night in the “hamlet” of Leorani, in the mountains. I think he’s going to camp out. Lovely, lovely Harry. The @KensingtonRoyal Twitter has been posting tons of pics – go here to see more. PS… Lately there hasn’t been a lot of love for Harry, so if you want me to continue writing about him when we get new photos, honk if you love Harry!! Photos courtesy of Pacific Coast News.

Ingrid Seward: William & Kate are ‘a rich, increasingly spoiled couple’

Ingrid Seward is a prominent royal writer, biographer and editor in the UK. She’s often called in by American publications to explain royal traditions or provide sugary quotes about the greatness of the Queen, the Prince of Wales or the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Like, People Magazine interviews her all the time and often throws in some of her quotes in pieces about the Cambridges. She’s known as a more conservative and pro-monarchy royal writer. So this is sort of amazing – Ingrid Seward wrote a column in the Mail on Sunday about the Cambridges’ janky media strategy and just what a boneheaded idea it was for Kate to skip out on the Irish Guards on St. Patrick’s Day. If even Seward feels bold enough to issue a public smackdown, you know there are issues. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights: Missing out on the Irish Guards ceremony on St. Patrick’s Day: “So unthinking were her advisers in Kensington Palace that when a row about her absence erupted they replied that she’d simply gone home to Norfolk to be with her children. For Kate to miss an opportunity to honour the Armed Forces with such a lame excuse shows a distinct lack of understanding. If she wants to be thought of as a modern princess who will go the extra mile for the brave soldiers she represents through her charities, she should have been there at their new barracks at Hounslow, not at home in Anmer Hall. It somehow made the covenant between Royals and the military look as if it didn’t matter.” Seward blames bad advisors: “The Duchess’s advisers should have stopped to think how pitiful an excuse it looked to soldiers who have been divided from their families for months on operational tours since British Forces became engaged in the War on Terror in 2003. But they clearly did not. Sadly, for William and Kate, who could do no wrong at the time of their marriage in April 2011, it’s another unnecessary mistake.” William gets slammed too: “Last month the Duke failed to show up at the Baftas for the second year running. He is the Academy’s president, so it’s as if the cream of British cinema and a clutch of Hollywood A-listers had been stood up by their host. Again….Prince William said recently that the growing criticism of himself and his wife ‘came with the territory’. But it doesn’t have to. If he did not appear to be chafing quite so much at his Royal responsibilities and was more accepting of the affection on offer from the millions who will one day be his subjects, he could be forgiven a lot.” Instead of being friendly to British media, William is courting foreign media: “Prince William seems to be impervious to this idea. Instead he has begun to groom foreign media who give him the same platitudinous message that they give various celebrities. While holding the British press at arm’s length, the younger members of the Royal Family are giving cuddly, banal interviews to favoured publications and American TV networks.” Surrounded by privilege: “When William and Kate first married they insisted they didn’t want to be hidden in the ivory tower of royalty. They wanted to be with the people doing what they did, not surrounded by riches and privilege. Now they are doing just that. Of course they will one day be anointed King and Queen, and they will need their people behind them. Courting favour overseas won’t work and nor will ignoring public opinion at home.” The spoiled couple: “They may have been thrilled by their own cleverness at having a secret four-day ski break in Courchevel earlier this month but where they see an entitlement to privacy, the public see a rich, increasingly spoiled couple growing surprisingly distant.” [From The Daily Mail] The rest of Seward’s piece is a comparison of the Cambridges to the older royals, with Seward even saying that the Duchess of Cornwall understands the royal role so much better than William and Kate. Charles gets compliments as well for always putting duty first, for working so hard, etc. As I said, if someone like Seward is throwing down some heavy criticism of William and Kate, you know it’s bad. You know what I’m starting to wonder? I’m quietly developing a theory that all of this criticism might work in William’s favor in one particular way – he’ll use this as an excuse to quit his part-time EAAA job, which clearly already bores him to tears. He’ll say he has to quit the EAAA because something something criticism and his royal role. Then he’ll be on to a new scheme to avoid royal work. Oh, and the Sunday Express ran an interesting piece about Kate skipping out on the Irish Guards too – go here to read. Apparently, Kensington Palace is now claiming that they informed the Irish Guards “months” ago that Kate would not be handing out shamrocks this year. And somehow she knew months ago that she would need that day to prioritize her children? It’s a weird explanation. Photos courtesy of Fame/Flynet and WENN.

Melissa McCarthy on her weight loss: ‘No trick, just super boring life’

Melissa McCarthy is promoting her new movie The Boss, which opens April 8. As I have mentioned, I am a big fan of Melissa since falling in love with her on Gilmore Girls. Of her movies, however, Spy is just about the only one I enjoyed. I am cautiously optimistic about The Boss though. If the trailers are to be believed, her character, Michelle Darnell, is a competent businessperson and the joke has nothing to do with weight. Her character Sookie’s weight on Gilmore Girls was never a joke; it wasn’t until she went mainstream Hollywood that her weight was brought front and center. Now that Melissa has lost 50 pounds (brava to her) her weight is an even bigger focus and everyone wants to know her secret. According to Melissa, the secret isn’t that sexy: Actress Melissa McCarthy channels a foul-mouthed, over-the-top Martha Stewart caricature in her new movie “The Boss,” but it is her personal transformation that has everyone talking. The 45-year-old actress looked incredible at a press junket for the film. She lost a reported 50 pounds, and revealed there is no big secret to her weight loss. She told “Extra’s” Charissa Thompson it is actually her lifestyle that contributed to the change. “No trick, nothing to tell, just super boring life. You bring it real down, you don’t do anything fun and you go to bed at 7:30 — that’s the trick.” She went on to say her husband, Ben Falcone, will ask, “Is it five and are you in jammies?” to which she responds, “I’m gonna call them loungewear.” [From Extra TV] Melissa is accepting compliments graciously but shies away from any real weight-loss discussion. I can appreciate her position as she has often emphasized that weight doesn’t really matter to her. She told Rolling Stone, in 2014, “I could eat healthier, I could drink less. I should be learning another language and working out more, but I’m just always saying, ‘Ah, I could get hit by a bus tomorrow.” I get the sense that she does not want to be another celebrity who loses weight and all of a sudden the only thing that matters is weight loss. Melissa is wearing her Seven7 clothing line during this press junket. I really liked a few pieces from her Holiday Line, but I think she does bottoms better than tops. The line is doing well, however, and Melissa continues to put emphasis on it being an all-inclusive line, joining the voices wishing to dismiss “plus-size” as a descriptor.
