As I mentioned at the end of Sunday’s post, Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift had a “date night” in Australia this weekend. They went out to eat at Gemelli, an Italian restaurant in Broadbeach. While there are many details of the date night, unfortunately none of those details involve Tiddles feeding each other pasta and meatballs, Lady and the Tramp-style, nor do the details involve fudge and swan pastries. According to Us Weekly, “Tom looked smitten with her as they talked softly and she giggled a lot” and Taylor’s skin looked “a little more sun-kissed than usual.” Us Weekly’s eyewitness went on in barf-inducing detail: “They were beaming as they gave warm smiles to onlookers, like any new couple who just can’t hide their feelings for each other.” People Magazine’s eyewitnesses also noted that Taylor told restaurant staffers that Italian food is her favorite and she was super-excited to try Gemelli’s food. Tiddles spent “several hours at dinner before returning to their hotel in a chauffeured car.” People Mag also notes that Tom and Taylor have been exceedingly polite to their fans, many of whom have gathered outside the hotel. In fact, things are going so well in their nearly month-old relationship that Taylor is already thinking about Tiddlebabies and Tiddlematrimony. Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston’s relationship appears to be moving forward even faster than originally thought. Less than a month after they made their romance public, the 26-year-old pop star sees the 35-year-old Thor actor as husband material and the two have also talked about their desire to have kids one day, a source told E! News exclusively Sunday. “This is the kind of a man she would want to marry,” the source said. “She has said he would make a great dad. They have talked about what they want in the future and kids are something that they would both like down the line. They have very real and serious conversations about life.” Swift, the source added, likes Hiddleston’s “English ways…She has told me that she loves his accent and thinks he is so sexy. He acts very English. He is also a big tea drinker.” Another source told E! News Swift “loves traveling with Tom,” who “makes her feel so safe…They are the real deal. They laugh and travel well together. These past few weeks, they have learned many things about each other…she is getting very attached. Tom gives Tay more attention than any other man she has ever been with. She likes his maturity. He…is a very romantic and charming gentleman.” An insider had told E! News after Swift’s Fourth of July party the singer’s “squad” of female friends “all really like Tom and like how he treats Taylor” and that while “things are moving fast between them,” her friends are not worried “because they never have seen her this happy.” “Tay can’t stop talking about Tom,” the second source told E! News Sunday. “It’s an ongoing conversation with the girls on how happy she is. Tay has mentioned numerous times how ‘in love’ with each other they are.” [From E! News] Of course she loves his “English ways.” He’s like the poster boy for a certain kind of posh Englishman, almost as if he was invented by Richard Curtis and Emma Thompson (although I bet Emma would love to tell Tom to take a seat right now). I love this though: “He acts very English. He is also a big tea drinker.” But what kind of tea, Tiddles? Anyway, I find it interesting that Team Swifty is leaking like a sieve. We’re getting multiple stories every week about how SHE loves him, how she’s impressed with him, how she can’t stop talking about him. Which is fine – that’s her brand. Zachary Quinto hopes George Takei changes his mind about Sulu being gay

Embed from Getty Images Australian outlet Pedestrian.TV asked Star Trek: Beyond star and openly gay actor Zachary Quinto (Spock) to respond to George Takei’s negative take on the fact that the character he played in the original TV series, Sulu, was going to be made gay in the upcoming prequel. As you may recall, Takei said that while he was “delighted that there’s a gay character” that he found it to be a “twisting of [creator] Gene [Rodenberry’s] creation, to which he put in so much thought.” and that he thought it was “really unfortunate.” Takei had explained to both John Cho, who plays him in the reboot, and director Justin Lin why he didn’t want Sulu to be gay and how it was unrealistic for the character that he be closeted throughout his life essentially. They went ahead with that direction for the character despite Takei’s objections. So Quinto has a response for Takei and while the headlines make it seem like he’s going hard against Takei’s statement, in the actual video he’s more measured and makes it about the broader point on inclusion. As a member of the LGBT community myself I was disappointed by the fact that George was disappointed. I think any member of the LGBT community that takes issue with the normalized and positive portrayal of members of our community in Hollywood and in mainstream blockbuster cinema… I get it that he has his own personal journey and his own personal relationship with this character but, you know, as we’ve established in the first Star Trek Film in 2009 we’ve created an alternate universe and my hope is that eventually George can be strengthened by the enormously positive response especially from young people who are heartened by and inspired by this really tasteful and beautiful portrayal of something that I think is gaining acceptance and inclusion in our societies across the world and should be. [From Video on Facebook] So Quinto kind of gets why Takei would object to his character having an entirely different backstory but doesn’t think it matters in the long run, which kind of goes to show how Takei got ignored in the first place. Of course it’s nice to have a gay character in Star Trek but I think they should have listened to Takei and respected his wishes instead of assuming they were doing homage to him. Takei made it clear ahead of time that wasn’t the case and it’s like they expected him to come around, that’s basically what Quino is saying. Also, I tried to go to George Takei’s twitter account to see if he’s responded to Quinto and I just got lost in all the excellent links he shares. (I searched on “Zachary” and “Quinto” on his account and there’s nothing recent.) While searching on Twitter I found that Simon Pegg issued a lengthy response to Takei as well. Pegg defended their decision to make Sulu gay and wrote that they never suggest in the film that Sulu was ever closeted, that it’s an “alternate timeline” with “alternate details” and that “We could have introduced a new gay character, but he or she would have been primarily defined by their sexuality, seen as the ‘gay character’, rather than simply for who they are, and isn’t that tokenism?” Ok, so when Takei said he objected to his character being gay because it wasn’t right for Sulu, did they consider making a different core character gay, like Scotty? E! News: Taylor Swift did not get a boob job, she has ‘always liked her breasts’

Taylor memorably and notably got a boob job back in 2012. I remember that story, because I felt like a boob-job investigator, going through months of photos to try and determine when the boob job happened. My guess is still April 2012 for the first boob job. And over the years, her boob job had a sort of wonky look, depending on her bra or top. Sometimes they looked hard and very LeAnn Rimes-esque, let’s say. But I strongly suspect that a few months ago, Taylor went away and got another boob job. I think she went up a cup size and/or fixed some bad work. What’s weird is that people are just now noticing that Swifty is not all-natural. Page Six ran this Forever 21 Instagram (above) of Taylor in their bikini, and wondered aloud if Taylor really has been enhanced. Yes. She is. She has been enhanced for more than four years. And now she’s re-enhanced. But according to Taylor Swift’s unnamed friends (her publicist), Taylor’s breasts are completely untouched. It’s the question that’s been floating around for a bit of time now: Did Taylor Swift get breast implants? After being photographed while out and about lately with Tom Hiddleston and then again most recently during her Fourth of July party— rocking a very flattering America bikini top—people couldn’t help but notice something a little, er, bigger about her chest, automatically assuming the country-turned-pop singer went under the knife. Well, sorry to burst your bubbles (or silicon dreams), but a source tells E! News she did not get a boob job and any rumors surrounding that idea are totally false. In fact, another source tells us Taylor has “always liked her breasts.” The insider explained that she “likes the fact she can go bra-less and have them still be perky.” [From E! News] Er, they’re perky because they’re man-made! I mean, props to Taylor for getting implants the correct size for her frame, but let’s be honest: they are implants. Absolutely. But I think it’s absolutely hilarious that Taylor is so controlling and obsessive that it bothers her to know that we’re sitting out here, talking about her boob job. That’s why this E! News story happened – because Taylor reads the comments. She reads the tweets. She reads the Tiddlesbanging coverage. Hey, girl! I think your boob job looks really nice now. Finally! Pippa Middleton has been dating James Matthews – who is terribly rich, btw – since November-ish of last year. I strongly suspect that there was overlap between “the start of James Matthews” and “the end of Nico Jackson,” the British tabloids really want to marry off Pippa, so they’re not making a big deal about it. No one wants to scare this one off! So Pippa hasn’t been doing pap strolls with James Matthews, and he has not been her plus-one at any charity events. But I asked/hoped for some coupled-up photos of James and Pippa at Wimbledon and here we are! Pippa and James Matthews came out to Wimbledon on Wednesday for Roger Federer’s quarter-final match against Marin Cilic (Federer won). This really is their first official-ish public appearance together. There’s also a rumor going around that James is going to propose to Pippa in the coming months, although that story sounds like it came from Carole Middleton, so… you know, it might not happen. What do we think of James? I think… he doesn’t really look like Pippa’s type? Her previous boyfriends seemed like buff, athletic types and pretty boys. James Matthews seems sort of small and not that athletic. Maybe he has a really great personality. Pippa’s dress in these photos is Tabitha Webb. I strongly suspect that many of you Middleton-watchers are correct and Pippa is being paid to wear certain designers, or she’s getting these dresses free on the condition that she wears them to Wimbledon. Emily Blunt and John Krasinski Welcome Second Child!

Move over, America. You now need to share your birthday with the offspring of one of our favorite famous couples. Sort of. Indeed, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski just welcomed their second child into the world! She doesn’t have the same birthday as the United States, but the world has now been made known about her existence on July Fourth. That’s kind of the same thing. “What better way to celebrate the 4th… than to announce our 4th family member!!!” Krasinski Tweeted this morning, adding: “2 weeks ago we met our beautiful daughter Violet #Happy4th.” The Girl on the Train star and The Office alum are already parents to a girl named Hazel. It’s too early to tell how little Hazel is adjusting to life as a big sister, but this is what Blunt told E! News about the prospect back in April: “She’s sort of coming around to it. “She sort of dismissed the idea initially and she just responded with, ‘Nope.’ ‘Nope,’ flat out! We’ve bought her every single ‘I’m a big sister’ book that’s out there and she’s a bookworm, so she’s coming around.” Blunt and Krasinski got married in 2010. A rep for the stars confirmed that the latter was expecting baby number-two in January; about a month later, Blunt debuted her baby bump at the 2016 Academy Awards. “The first pregnancy is the most self-indulgent thing in the world because you get massages and prenatal yoga and hypnotherapy CDs,” Blunt told C Magazine this spring. How so? “During this one I forget that I’m even pregnant. I’m hoisting my 2-year-old around!” she explained. Duchess Kate is spending more of Charles’ money on high-end clothes this year

2016 has brought us a “new and improved” Duchess of Cambridge, or so her PR would have us believe. Five years into her role as duchess, Kate is supposed to be feeling more comfortable in her royal role. We’re also supposed to believe that she’s successfully transitioned from her mass-market High Street looks to more expensive and sophisticated designer clothes. Personally, I don’t see much of a difference in her style in the past few years other than the price tags. Which I suspect is the point of this piece at the Daily Mail. While Prince Harry is shopping the bargain bins at Waitrose, Kate is spending her father-in-law’s money on undercooked cinnamon bun hats and doily dresses. She was once hailed ‘Queen of the High Street’ for championing mid-range clothes within reach of the average woman’s budget. But the Duchess of Cambridge has been re-crowned the ‘Designer Duchess’ after replacing her trusted Zara dresses and Topshop bargains with haute couture. Once a reluctant style icon, Kate –who famously wore a £50 blue Zara dress the day after her wedding – is now almost exclusively choosing high-end gowns, coats and shoes. And the 34-year-old’s new tastes do not come cheap. Much of her working wardrobe is paid for by the Prince of Wales, who funds William, Kate and Harry’s official activities. Royal accounts published last week show Charles’s ‘other expenditure’, which includes money spent on Kate and his sons, rose 9.5 per cent in a year to £3.2 million – although aides refused to specify how much of that went on Kate’s wardrobe. The transition has come with the help of an in-house tailor and her personal dresser, 29-year-old Natasha Archer, also based in Kensington Palace. The most expensive item Kate has been seen in this year was a £7,000 pale blue Catherine Walker coat dress, which she wore to the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral last month. While her clothes are now of a better quality, she is increasingly ‘recycling’ outfits she has worn before, including a £2,000 cream-coloured Alexander McQueen coat dress seen at Trooping the Colour in June. And she has finally ditched her trusty £145 LK Bennett court shoes in favour of pumps by Milan-based Gianvito Rossi, costing about £450. ‘Kate is wearing pricier pieces for semi-formal engagements,’ says Susan Kelley, editor of the website What Kate Wore. ‘We’ve seen her in three Dolce & Gabbana lace dresses in the past year which cost more than £6,000 in total. Now, almost all of her special occasion dresses are upscale, luxury labels.’ [From The Daily Mail] I understand that her wardrobe is supposed to be seen as a “years-long transition,” rather than an overnight change from middle-class girlfriend to high-end duchess. But what strikes me about Kate’s wardrobe is that you really can’t tell which pieces are high-end and which pieces are mass market, and I don’t mean that as a compliment. Some women – the Diane Krugers and Cate Blanchetts of the world – can make inexpensive clothes look rich. Some women – like Kate – make high-end pieces look mass-market. One of the biggest issues with Kate’s clothes is how much she’s spending on personalized tailoring, most of which is unneeded. Or worse yet, the tailoring actually screws up the look. And you have to look no further than her absolutely awful bespoke piece at the Battle of Somme centenary event last Friday to see that this is Kate’s (expensive) vision for how she’s supposed to look. Snooki & JWoww: Return To The Jersey Shore House… With Their Kids!

Snooki and JWoww have come a long way from their alcohol fueled drama in the Jersey Shore house.  For six seasons, we witnessed their ups and downs and it made for some of the best reality TV scenes ever. There was no reality show on the air quite like it, but by the time the final season rolled around, it was pretty stale.  It probably didn’t help matters that Snooki was pregnant with her first child. This changed the dynamic of the show. Snooki changed from an immature young woman into a very strong woman with a family in mind.  No one was surprised when it was announced that Jersey Shore was coming to an end in 2012. There’s only so many times you can watch the same group of people get drunk and make fun of themselves.  Snooki & JWoww’s spin-off lasted  for four seasons and it chronicled the two best friends as they navigated a more mature lifestyle.  Snooki & JWoww recently took a trip to the Jersey Shore house where it all began, but they took their kids with them.  That’s wrong on so many levels. Remember the smoosh room? Let’s hope that room has been steam cleaned.  That was the go-to place when people in the house wanted to indulge in some sexual activity, so we can only imagine the horrors that could be hiding in there.  View Slideshow: 15 Stars Whose 15 Minutes of Fame Are Already Up JWoww’s husband, Roger took to his wife’s blog to speak about their experience and made it clear that he wasn’t fond of the kids going to the house.  “For reasons unknown my wife and Nicole took our kids to the Jersey Shore house today and let them pose for a photo op in the “Smoosh Room” or as I like to call it the DNA Daycare,” Roger revealed on the blog.  It seems like Roger has finally found a sense of humor. Remember he would fly off the handle at JWoww whenever she tried to have a joke with him? Roger closed off his post with more hilarious comments about it all. “I’m in a full Haz Mat suit now waiting in the driveway to power wash my kids off and scrub them down with bleach when they get home.
