Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck’s divorce off: ‘a few weeks ago, things changed’

US Magazine has a new article on the sidebar this week letting us know about the state of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s relationship, because we really needed another update after the sidebar on the cover of People last week. Every day I wonder how they’re doing, if they’re still a couple, if Ben is off cavorting with random women on yachts in Canada or both because you know those two things are not mutually exclusive. Jen knows it too on some level, but she may have stuffed it deep down where she keeps her knowledge of fashionable shoes because US is reporting the divorce is now off. In fact, talk of divorce has ceased altogether, sources reveal in the new issue of Us Weekly. “Jen mentioned that the divorce was going through very soon, and then a few weeks ago, things changed,” says a source close to Garner. “It does not seem to be moving in that direction.” The Justice League actor, 43, and actress, 44, are cohabiting in their $17.5 million, five-bedroom mansion, albeit in separate bedrooms. Garner revealed in the March issue of Vanity Fair that she sleeps with their oldest daughter, Violet; Affleck bunks in the guest room, according to a close source. “Jen seems to still be in love with Ben but doesn’t allow her mind to go there,” says the Garner pal. “She just focuses on the kids.” The man down the hall is also having trouble letting go. “If it was up to Ben,” adds a second insider, “they would be together. He feels like he can’t live without Jen.” Still, an Affleck source insists lawyers are hammering out the details of their divorce privately. “They were never in a rush to file. This was always the plan… “They want their kids’ lives to go on as uninterrupted as possible,” says a source. [From US Magazine] Some people will say US is making this up, but this is consistent with People’s report last week, and as I usually mention, US had Garner’s side of the divorce along with exclusive details from their relationship and breakup vacation, where Garner figured out Affleck was sleeping with their kids’ nanny. (I would like to get an update from Ouzounian, but I bet she signed an ironclad NDA.) I’m always worried that interesting, fun gossip is going to fall off a cliff when we get to the sultry summer months, but for several years now, we’ve had some great “summer stories.” This summer’s amazing Tiddlebanging is the big story, but I think we’re also going to get a lot of pap stroll photos of Kim Kardashian this summer because she’s lost all of her pregnancy weight and she wants people to look at her body. And that’s always fun, because Kim’s style just gets worse and worse. These are photos of Kim in Malibu with her BFF Jonathan Cheban yesterday. Kim’s ensemble is a DISASTER. And it was glorious. Kim wore a matchy cowgirl look from Peter Dundas at Roberto Cavalli. Kim-In-Cavalli is the new “Kim in Balmain.” And while I appreciate the fact that a curvy girl like Kim can wear some major designers, she never really looks good in those clothes, probably because those clothes were designed for tall, leggy, curveless women. What bugs me about this look is the WASH. The light acid-wash denim looks so, so bad. I can’t believe we ever thought that denim wash looked good. Meanwhile, it really does look like the #TaylorSwiftPartyIsOver, especially for the Kardashian-Wests. In an upcoming episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim is going to talk about the Taylor Swift-“Famous” controversy. Kim tells her mother “I did an interview with GQ,” referencing this interview. People: Ben Affleck ‘still doesn’t want the divorce & he might get his way’

Forgive me for missing this story when it came out yesterday but in my defense these Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner stories start to run together after a while. It’s like the same story every few days with some minor tweaks. I guess we have to give them credit for sticking to message, which they’re hammering home. On the Fourth of July Ben Affleck and his maybe not-so-estranged wife, Jennifer Garner, were seen out together at a Fourth of July Parade with three of their children. You can see those photos here at the Daily Mail. The kids are dressed in red, white and blue but Ben is wearing a black t-shirt like he can’t be bothered and Jen is in a white sleeveless shirt with a black jacket over it. How hard is it to find something blue or red to wear on the Fourth of July? Maybe nothing is fitting Ben right. Just like last week, this week there’s another story in People about how these two are “making it work”. Instead of Jen being “adamant” about divorcing though, it now sounds like she’s given in and that she’s not going to push it. It’s been just over one year since Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their plans to split and during that time the two have maintained a close relationship – and still haven’t filed divorce papers. So what’s really going on? They’re still figuring things out,” a Garner friend tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “Ben still doesn’t want the divorce and he might actually get his way.” While the former couple have downplayed reconciliation rumors over the past year, they have continued living together, going on weekend outings with their kids and even vacationing as a family. This spring, Garner and their three children, Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4, moved to London for several weeks with Affleck, sharing a rented house and sightseeing in Europe while the actor filmed Justice League. “She had the best time in Europe with Ben and the kids,” says her friend. “She seemed much happier when she returned to L.A. Jen went from being very adamant that a divorce would happen to instead avoiding any divorce talk.” [From People] People’s cover features the story of kidnapping survivor Jaycee Dugard, I remember that so well and am glad she’s doing well, and Ben and Jen got an inset to the upper right. This is not the first time they’ve had a sidebar on the cover since their split – they were on the Kelly Ripa cover in May. Of course Ben and Jen got two People covers last summer, in July and August, when they split. Isn’t that what this is all about? Informing us of their daily mood changes so that we’ll keep covering them? It works, and people are interested. It’s kind of fascinating to watch, especially since Ben looks so emotionally checked out in paparazzi photos (to be fair maybe he just hates the paparazzi) with his family but still insists on keeping his marriage. It’s like he doesn’t want to be with Jen but doesn’t want to let her go, either. For what it’s worth she seems ok with it, if only because she wants her family together. For those of you who believe in ring watch – neither Ben nor Jen is wearing their wedding rings. I think Jen first took hers off last August, because she told the press all about it. But whatever girl drama Swifty might have with her squad isn’t the story. No, the story is that even after a days-long “breather” from each other, Taylor and Tom are still in love. For what it’s worth, I examined her bump-area closely too. But I don’t think she’s knocked up. My gut says that she’s put on a few pounds (just a few, literally) because she’s not touring and she’s just on vacation. I will say this though: Taylor redid her boob job. She got a boob job several years back, but I’m now positive that she went and got them redone, with bigger, rounder implants. She has absolutely gone up a cup size at least. Meanwhile, there were some assorted tabloid/whatever stories this holiday weekend. *The Daily Mail ran a breakdown of Tom’s ancestral line, because why not? The DM did the same thing with Benedict Cumberbatch a while back, and you can see the DM’s Hiddles story here. *Tom wants to ignore all of the criticism TIDDLES has been getting. A source told Reveal Mag that “Tom’s been incredibly supportive. When this backlash started, she was worried he’d cut and run, but it’s been the opposite. He’s done wonders to cheer Taylor up, when this is exactly the sort of thing that would normally really upset her. He even made a joke about how they’re moving too fast, and he mock-proposed to her with one of those plastic kiddie rings you get from a bubblegum machine. She thought it was hilarious.” Jesus, are they BOTH 13 years old? *E! News has been running critical stories about Tiddles for more than a week. Critical as in “is this entire mess a showmance?” Well, E! spoke to Famously Single “dating coach” Laurel House to analyze the Tiddles romance. House thinks Swifty “finally broke her bad boy addiction. ‘Bad’ and ‘boy’ both being operative words. With Calvin, he was a good guy which prepared her for Tom, who is her man. Is it too fast? Brandi Glanville wants the world to know that she recycles guys. The reality TV star is currently appearing on Famously Single and it’s clear that she had a clause in her contract to bring the drama. She’s had heated arguments with practically every woman in the house and we’re only two episodes in! In the next episode of the E! reality series, Glanville opens up about her booty calls. Glanville opened up to Dr. Darcy Sterling about why she doesn’t mind having several guys waiting for her if she’s single. “I’m a little older than the girls here, so I have needs,” Glanville says. “So I have guys that I have sex with, but we know it’s going to be good sex, and we’re not going to be a couple, and it is what it is.” “It’s not casual because I know them, and we’re friends, but we know it’s going to be good, and [we] have needs too.” Sterling was obviously a little taken aback by this reveal, but then asked Glanville whether being a celebrity makes it easier to go back to guys she’s already been with. Johnny Depp Flees LA, Gets Support From Daughter & Disney

Like the swaggering pirate he so memorably portrayed, Johnny Depp might be wondering where the rum is these days. The answer? In the Caribbean, of course. According to several sources, Depp has been riding out his divorce from Amber Heard at his private island in the Bahamas. “He has no plans to return to L.A.,” a source close to Depp tells People magazine. “He misses nothing about L.A. but his kids, and they are visiting him in the Bahamas.” We suppose there are worse places to be self-exiled. The magazine states that Depp is currently being visited by his 17-year-old daughter, Lily-Rose. His son 14-year-old son, Jack, is expected to arrive with his mother, Vanessa Paradis, sometime this week. “Having his kids around is always great for him. He has really missed his kids,” the insider adds. “He likes being surrounded by people and everyone is trying to cheer him up.” As you’ve likely heard, Depp has been accused of assault by his estranged wife.
