Harrison Wagner: Jack Wagner Asks Twitter To Help Find His Troubled Son

Sometimes social media can be used as a force for good. Melrose Place’s Jack Wagner, 56, took to Twitter on July 10th in an attempt to locate his 21-year-old son, Harrison. Harrison had been missing five days when Wagner sent out the tweet. “I’m going to ask those who want to share their fears, addictions & struggles to do so w me via Twitter. We can face them 2gether, I’ll start,” Wagner wrote. “I fear for my youngest sons safety. Harrison has struggled w drugs & alcohol just as I did when I was younger. He’s relapsed & is MIA 5 days.” Wagner was inundated with tweets of support, and stories from fans who themselves were struggling with addiction. Whether or not the tweet caught Harrison’s attention, Wagner updated those concerned that he had be able to connect with his son. “Harrisons been in touch, he’s 21 & in charge of his life, ty for the lv & prayers, please continue to share your struggles, it helps us all,” Wagner wrote earlier today. Wagner didn’t stop there.  He continued to listen and respond to others’ stories, thanking them for sharing. Zac Efron Talks Life Post Rehab Harrison is Wagner’s son with General Hospital’s Kristina Wagner (they are divorced, but remain “great friends”).  The couple have another son, Peter, 25. Earlier this year, Kristina was featured on Oprah’s Where Are They Now? “I realized that I really needed to figure out what was going on with me in order to move forward,” Kristina said of their divorce (filed first in 2001, then 2005 after an attempt at reconciliation). “It’s easy to lose yourself when you’re only in your young 20s and you’re just doing what’s expected of you and not really thinking about your own needs… The divorce was the best thing that could have happened to me and for my children, as well, because I don’t think I was being a very good mother at the time. “I had to deal with myself, first, because we ultimately have to take care of ourselves before we can help others.”  View Slideshow: 22 Celebrities Who Have Been to Rehab

Zachary Quinto hopes George Takei changes his mind about Sulu being gay

Embed from Getty Images Australian outlet Pedestrian.TV asked Star Trek: Beyond star and openly gay actor Zachary Quinto (Spock) to respond to George Takei’s negative take on the fact that the character he played in the original TV series, Sulu, was going to be made gay in the upcoming prequel. As you may recall, Takei said that while he was “delighted that there’s a gay character” that he found it to be a “twisting of [creator] Gene [Rodenberry’s] creation, to which he put in so much thought.” and that he thought it was “really unfortunate.” Takei had explained to both John Cho, who plays him in the reboot, and director Justin Lin why he didn’t want Sulu to be gay and how it was unrealistic for the character that he be closeted throughout his life essentially. They went ahead with that direction for the character despite Takei’s objections. So Quinto has a response for Takei and while the headlines make it seem like he’s going hard against Takei’s statement, in the actual video he’s more measured and makes it about the broader point on inclusion. As a member of the LGBT community myself I was disappointed by the fact that George was disappointed. I think any member of the LGBT community that takes issue with the normalized and positive portrayal of members of our community in Hollywood and in mainstream blockbuster cinema… I get it that he has his own personal journey and his own personal relationship with this character but, you know, as we’ve established in the first Star Trek Film in 2009 we’ve created an alternate universe and my hope is that eventually George can be strengthened by the enormously positive response especially from young people who are heartened by and inspired by this really tasteful and beautiful portrayal of something that I think is gaining acceptance and inclusion in our societies across the world and should be. [From Video on Facebook] So Quinto kind of gets why Takei would object to his character having an entirely different backstory but doesn’t think it matters in the long run, which kind of goes to show how Takei got ignored in the first place. Of course it’s nice to have a gay character in Star Trek but I think they should have listened to Takei and respected his wishes instead of assuming they were doing homage to him. Takei made it clear ahead of time that wasn’t the case and it’s like they expected him to come around, that’s basically what Quino is saying. Also, I tried to go to George Takei’s twitter account to see if he’s responded to Quinto and I just got lost in all the excellent links he shares. (I searched on “Zachary” and “Quinto” on his account and there’s nothing recent.) While searching on Twitter I found that Simon Pegg issued a lengthy response to Takei as well. Pegg defended their decision to make Sulu gay and wrote that they never suggest in the film that Sulu was ever closeted, that it’s an “alternate timeline” with “alternate details” and that “We could have introduced a new gay character, but he or she would have been primarily defined by their sexuality, seen as the ‘gay character’, rather than simply for who they are, and isn’t that tokenism?” Ok, so when Takei said he objected to his character being gay because it wasn’t right for Sulu, did they consider making a different core character gay, like Scotty? Finally! Pippa Middleton has been dating James Matthews – who is terribly rich, btw – since November-ish of last year. I strongly suspect that there was overlap between “the start of James Matthews” and “the end of Nico Jackson,” the British tabloids really want to marry off Pippa, so they’re not making a big deal about it. No one wants to scare this one off! So Pippa hasn’t been doing pap strolls with James Matthews, and he has not been her plus-one at any charity events. But I asked/hoped for some coupled-up photos of James and Pippa at Wimbledon and here we are! Pippa and James Matthews came out to Wimbledon on Wednesday for Roger Federer’s quarter-final match against Marin Cilic (Federer won). This really is their first official-ish public appearance together. There’s also a rumor going around that James is going to propose to Pippa in the coming months, although that story sounds like it came from Carole Middleton, so… you know, it might not happen. What do we think of James? I think… he doesn’t really look like Pippa’s type? Her previous boyfriends seemed like buff, athletic types and pretty boys. James Matthews seems sort of small and not that athletic. Maybe he has a really great personality. Pippa’s dress in these photos is Tabitha Webb. I strongly suspect that many of you Middleton-watchers are correct and Pippa is being paid to wear certain designers, or she’s getting these dresses free on the condition that she wears them to Wimbledon. Matt Baier: I’m Not Evil! My Son is a Liar!

It’s been a particularly bad week for Matt Baier’s public image, which is surprising, as his reputation has been about on par with that of Chris Brown mixed with a leaking bag of garbage for as long as he’s been in the spotlight. Still, Amber Portwood’s fiance found a way to sink lower this week. You almost have to admire him, but then you remember that no one should ever admire him for any reason. It all started when Baier’s estranged son called him “the ultimate con artist” in a scathing interview with Radar Online. Chris Baier, 26, says that Amber and the average Teen Mom viewer are clueless as to the depths of his father’s shadiness, and to prove it, he offered up a seriously disturbing example. Chris says that he’s struggled with drug addiction throughout his adult life, and that his father co-opted his story in order to help him win over Amber Portwood (a recovering addict herself) and appear more sympathetic to MTV audiences: “He asked me to tell him all about my problems with drugs. When I saw him on MTV, he was talking about all of my drug problems that I told him about, and made believe they were his problems,” “The truth of the matter is, he’s an evil, evil man, and when he did evil things, he was stone cold sober.” Chris says. “All he does is use people and hurt them. He’s a horrible, nasty person, the ultimate con artist.” Harsh words to say the least.  Not surprisingly, Matt says his son’s story is utter nonsense.  “What actually happened is he was contacted by the press numerous times in the last six moths or so and offered money to say bad things about me,” Matt says. “It’s important to note my son has a bad drug addiction, and he was completely strung out when he started talking about six months ago. “He was in trouble with the law and in between places to live. When you’re offered an amount of money by anybody when you’re in that situation it’s really tough to turn down.” But as the saying goes, there are three sides to every story: Matt Baier’s version, and the versions of the two people who say he’s lying. The Ashley’s Reality Roundup spoke with the journalist who interviewed Chris Baier, and she claims that Matt’s explanation for his son’s comments makes zero sense: “Chris hasn’t used in years!” Radar Online’s Donna Thomas says of Matt’s allegations. “He wasn’t paid a dime, and wasn’t looking for money, he’s a really nice kid…He’s had some issues with drugs, but it’s the past, he has a good job, and a girlfriend and he’s on the right track, he doesn’t want Matt to destroy anyone else, that’s all!” So yes, yet again Matt comes off looking incredibly shady. The situation has left many wondering if Amber and Matt will still get married, and the answer is yes. Yes they will, because Amber has learned to turn a blind eye to her fiance’s true nature.

Embed from Getty Images On Thursday evening, Prince Harry, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge arrived at Thiepval memorial to the Missing in France to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Somme during World War I. Tributes were also held in London, with the Queen, Prince Philip and David Cameron all attending a service at Westminster Abbey. The younger royals got sent to France though, which is how it should be. I’ve come to expect Harry at these kind of somber military events, but the Cambridges usually don’t pull this kind of duty. I think Kate looks nice here. She wore this Missoni coat which probably retails for something like $2900, although she’s likely had it significantly altered. But I like that it’s memorial-appropriate but it’s not just solid-black. She managed to stand out but not be disrespectful. And hey, at least she wasn’t wearing hot pink. She gets bonus points from me for wearing her hair back, wearing a fascinator that didn’t look like an undercooked cinnamon bun, and for keeping her accessories very simple. She might not look like Barbie Duchess, but she looked respectful of the event. What else? Prince William made a speech and as I was skimming the text, I was like “whoa, politics!” Take a gander: “One hundred years ago tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. the British army attacked German lines across these fields. To the young men eager to fight it was known as the ‘Big Push.’ The joint British and French offensive intended to put unbearable pressure on the German army and hasten an end to the war. Most of those who went over the top that day were wartime volunteers. Some as young as 16. Some had already seen action. For others the Somme was their first experience of battle. By the end of the 1st of July the British Army had sustained almost 60,00 casualties, of whom nearly one third had died. We lost the flower of a generation. And in the years to come it sometimes seemed that with them a sense of vital optimism had disappeared forever from British life. It was, in many ways, the saddest day in the long story of our nation. “Tonight we think of them as they nerved themselves for what lay ahead. We acknowledge the failures of European governments, including our own, to prevent the catastrophe of World War. We offer our humblest respects to each man who fought in the Battle of the Somme from every corner of the British Isles and from across the Commonwealth. We honor those whose names are recorded on this memorial. More than 72,000 who have no know grave. And to those who lie buried in Commonwealth war cemeteries. And tonight we stand here with a promise to those men. We will remember you. The gift you gave your country is treasured by every one of us this day. Props to William for acknowledging the lack of leadership that caused so many young men to die in that dreadful battle. And if people want to believe he’s just making a reference to the lack of leadership 100 years ago, so be it. But maybe he’s talking about a lack of leadership today. Bregrexit! Pippa Middleton is reportedly getting a marriage proposal… in September?

Last fall, Pippa Middleton and Nico Jackson finally ended their relationship after months of drama. He basically moved to Switzerland to get away from Pippa, but that still didn’t end the relationship. The relationship only ended when Pippa was seen having a “sleepover” at James Matthews’ house. Suddenly, Pippa and Nico were done and then Pippa and James Matthews were a thing. Their relationship was confirmed just days into the new year, with sources dishing that Pippa’s new boyfriend is “terribly rich” and very much into Pippa. And in 2016, we really haven’t seen that much of Pippa, lending credence to the idea that Prince William convinced Pippa to give up Pippa-Tipping and “writing” so she could focus on landing a husband who would financially support her. And now it might be happening! Per the Daily Mail’s “Diary” gossip girl: I’m loathe to spoil a surprise, but is Pippa Middleton’s boyfriend about to propose? Sources tell me that James Matthews is whisking her away to the Caribbean island of St Barts in September – where he might pop the question at his parents’ exclusive hotel, Eden Rock. A ‘save the date card’ is already circulating among close pals with the message: ‘Don’t Tell Pippa,’ while mum Carole is in on it, too. As Pippa’s brother James is now back with Donna Air, could it be a race to see who walks down the aisle first? [From The Daily Mail] To be fair, there were tons of these kinds of rumors about Pippa and Nico and her boyfriend before Nico too. It’s “the Middleton way” to publicly encourage Pippa’s boyfriends to propose by dropping hints to gossip columnists. The Middleton family did it with Kate and Prince William too, during The Waity Years. That being said, I do think Pippa has found The One. If we’re defining The One as “some guy who is terribly rich and well-connected.” Which is all she’s ever wanted! I’m hoping he does propose just so Pippa can change her storyline, you know?
