Kim Zolciak tells daughter, 19, to get lip injections ‘if it makes her happy’

Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kim Zolciak-Biermann and her daughter, Brielle, 19, were spotted at LAX on Tuesday sporting over-inflated lips. Like mother, like daughter, right? The 38-year-old reality star was in Los Angeles to work on the launch of her new skincare line, Kashmere Kollection. While she was there, she paid a visit to her plastic surgeon, Dr. Garo Kassabian. Being the social media monster that she is, Kim documented the trip on Snapchat. Dr. Kassabian is quite the in-demand plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. Kim could only get in to see him at 9 p.m. on Friday night. As she states numerous times in the video, it’s “only the best, baby” for her. The Daily Mail posted a video of Kim’s L.A. Snapchat adventure and it’s kind of refreshing to see that her videos are just as dull as those from someone not in the public eye. Kim didn’t reveal exactly what happened at the good doctor’s office, but she definitely emerged with noticeably larger lips. Of course, she’s no stranger to going under the knife, telling E! News back in May that she’s had some plastic surgery, including a tummy tuck and breast augmentation. She also thinks it’s okay to not be 100% natural, telling E!: “I will always nip and tuck if I feel the need to do so, but I’m open about it. I don’t care. You only go around one time, and I especially understand that. And life is very short, so there’s no reason for me to lie.” “If I chose a life of reality television, which is an open book, so I share with people what I’ve done. There’s no secrets. I want women to feel as beautiful as I feel, and so, with that said, it’s not all natural. My boobs aren’t natural. I had great boobs until I breastfed Brielle and then they just shriveled up to B raisins. They were horrible. So I must fix them.” LOL!” [From E! News] Kim’s 19-year-old daughter also got a lip tune-up while in L.A., visiting cosmetic dermatologist Simon Ourian. Mama Kim is completely on board with this, telling US Magazine, “She bothered me for five years about her lips. She was like, ‘I hate my lips, I hate my lips.’ So I’m like, then go fix them! You only go around this planet once. If it makes her happy, so be it.” Brielle’s lips are the star of many an Instagram selfie. After she got her first round of injections back in November, she posted her full pout with the caption, “My lips are my biggest insecurity and I’m so happy w my results now!” I thought she looked better before she started getting the injections, but that’s just me. thank you thank you thank you!!! to my favorite, @simonourianmd1 !!! my lips are my biggest insecurity and I'm so happy w my results now! ☺️ you truly are the best! even though I hate needles you made this very easy! thank you again #simonourian #epione A video posted by brielle biermann (@briellebiermann) on Nov 25, 2015 at 11:43am PST At least Brielle has lips that can enhance her duck face selfies and shameless promotional posts for sunglasses and teeth whitening kits. She did take a break from hawking things for a “stuck in Atlanta” traffic selfie. The struggle is real, people. I don’t know about you, but I can’t stand these crazy, puffy fish lips. That’s why God created lip liner. It’s easy to overdraw your lips a little and it’s way cheaper and far less painful. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for a little nip and tuck, and if I hadn’t been so chicken in my 20s, I would have gotten a boob job, but I just can’t with these lips. Caitlyn Jenner: The GOP is our best hope at getting a ‘constitutional government’

We have to provide a safe environment for the generations ahead! Huge thank you to @americanunityfund and @m_hoov for inviting me to their #bigtentbrunch at #RNCinCLE. We need to keep having these conversations #trans #lgbt #republican A photo posted by Caitlyn Jenner (@caitlynjenner) on Jul 20, 2016 at 9:30am PDT Caitlyn Jenner attended events adjacent to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland this week. She announced that she would be going to Cleveland ahead of time, almost as if she was hoping for a speaking slot at the RNC. Which isn’t going to happen on Mike Pence’s watch, you know. So Caitlyn just had to be RNC-adjacent at an American Unity Fund Q&A session, where she talked about her long-standing love of all things Republican, even though the GOP would much rather refer to her as Bruce and discriminate against every part of her life. Some assorted quotes from Cait’s Q&A session. Coming out as Republican: “It was easy to come out as trans. It was hard to come out as Republican.” She’s a Republican because her dad serves in the military: “And if my dad knew what was going on in this country when he fought so hard, I think he’d be very disappointed. Because of that, I feel like our best hope to get back to a constitutional government… is a Republican Party… I’m not giving up on this country. I’m not giving up on this constitution. I want jobs for everybody.” North Carolina’s bathroom laws: “I haven’t used a men’s room in a year and a half. I follow the rules. I never flush a feminine product down the toilet.” How she came out to her kids: “God said, ‘Let’s give this one the soul of a female and see how he does.’” Changing hearts & minds: “I think the Republican Party needs to understand. They need to know people who are trans.” What she wants to tell Trump: “I would tell Donald that there are people out there that have been marginalized for so many years… It’s about the next generation coming up. We have to provide a safe environment for them.” [From USA Today] I know Caitlyn is a Republican because of the way she talks about why she’s a Republican. It’s the same vague, illogical, superficial, uninformed way that many die-hard Trump voters talk about why they’re voting for Trump. Because “freedom” and “my dad was in the military” and “making America great” and “the Constitution or whatever” and “you know, like, freedom.” In what way was George W. Bush’s administration MORE of a “constitutional government” than Barack Obama’s administration? Do Republicans believe that no active-duty military personnel or veteran has voted Democrat, ever? ‘Ghostbusters’ opened at the box office with $46 million: did you love it or hate it?

I was looking forward to seeing the lady-version of Ghostbusters, mostly because I love the combo of Melissa McCarthy + director Paul Feig, and I think Kate McKinnon is one of the funniest people working today. I went to see it on a lazy Sunday afternoon, and about half-way through the film, I realized that it really wasn’t that funny. Ghostbusters has some giggle-worthy lines and some charm and McKinnon in particular was really trying her damnedest to bring some lightness and quirk to the movie, but even the combined talents of these funny women couldn’t save a clunky script. Those were the biggest issues: pacing, and a script that needed a few more rewrites. They spent too much time earnestly building the world of the “modern” Ghostbusters and there were so many opportunities for some tongue-in-cheek cultural references, anything to shorthand the process and move along the action, but it just didn’t happen. Which isn’t to say that I think it’s a bad movie. It’s not, and if you’re in the mood for something light and silly, I would recommend it. It’s harmless and there are some funny lines and good moments. I feel like Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy’s comedic talents were oddly underutilized as they both tried to play the straight-man to varying degrees. Leslie Jones’ Patty was brought into the story too late (pacing issues, I’m telling you). Chris Hemsworth’s character was the victim of messy writing too, and it felt like they couldn’t decide how stupid they wanted him to be, so his level of intelligence kept changing scene-to-scene. I’m well aware that there is a Battle of the Sexes happening around this film and around the reviews of the film. I was prepared to go to war and rip apart the misogynistic criticism of the film. But after seeing it, the most feminist thing I can say is that the leading ladies were trying and the film’s flaws are not their fault. The fault lies with Paul Feig and Katie Dippold, the co-writers of the clunky script. As for the box office, Sony predicted that it would make between $40-50 million opening weekend, and it performed as expected. Early reports on Sunday put the figure at something like $46 million. It came in second behind The Secret Life of Pets, which… let’s face it, is a massive, crowd-pleasing family film. The problem was that Ghostbusters was TOO scary for really little kids and not funny enough to have box office longevity. It cost $144 million to make Ghostbusters, and I’m sure that the film will break even and likely make the studio some money. But as many analysts pointed out, that might not be good enough. Ghostbusters didn’t need to perform at expectations, it needed to exceed expectations to be considered a “success.” You can read more analysis here. Photos courtesy of ‘Ghostbusters’.

Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck’s divorce off: ‘a few weeks ago, things changed’

US Magazine has a new article on the sidebar this week letting us know about the state of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s relationship, because we really needed another update after the sidebar on the cover of People last week. Every day I wonder how they’re doing, if they’re still a couple, if Ben is off cavorting with random women on yachts in Canada or both because you know those two things are not mutually exclusive. Jen knows it too on some level, but she may have stuffed it deep down where she keeps her knowledge of fashionable shoes because US is reporting the divorce is now off. In fact, talk of divorce has ceased altogether, sources reveal in the new issue of Us Weekly. “Jen mentioned that the divorce was going through very soon, and then a few weeks ago, things changed,” says a source close to Garner. “It does not seem to be moving in that direction.” The Justice League actor, 43, and actress, 44, are cohabiting in their $17.5 million, five-bedroom mansion, albeit in separate bedrooms. Garner revealed in the March issue of Vanity Fair that she sleeps with their oldest daughter, Violet; Affleck bunks in the guest room, according to a close source. “Jen seems to still be in love with Ben but doesn’t allow her mind to go there,” says the Garner pal. “She just focuses on the kids.” The man down the hall is also having trouble letting go. “If it was up to Ben,” adds a second insider, “they would be together. He feels like he can’t live without Jen.” Still, an Affleck source insists lawyers are hammering out the details of their divorce privately. “They were never in a rush to file. This was always the plan… “They want their kids’ lives to go on as uninterrupted as possible,” says a source. [From US Magazine] Some people will say US is making this up, but this is consistent with People’s report last week, and as I usually mention, US had Garner’s side of the divorce along with exclusive details from their relationship and breakup vacation, where Garner figured out Affleck was sleeping with their kids’ nanny. (I would like to get an update from Ouzounian, but I bet she signed an ironclad NDA.) So Affleck wanted to get back with Garner and she’s letting him stick around until the next time he publicly embarrasses her. Maybe she figures if he keeps him on notice he’ll be faithful, at least by outside appearances. photos credit: WENN and FameFlynet. Denmark’s Crown Princess Mary covers Vogue Australia: stunning or blah?

I’ll admit it: I’ve never paid much attention to Denmark’s Crown Princess Mary. There are dedicated royal-watchers who enjoy all of the royal houses, but I generally limit myself to the Windsors, Bernadottes and Grimaldis. Crown Princess Mary is the Australian woman who married Crown Prince Frederick in 2004, after a three-year courtship and one-year-long engagement. They met in a pub in Sydney, Australia in 2000 and love blossomed. Mary is actually accomplished, and she worked at real jobs before and during their courtship. She’s often compared to the Duchess of Cambridge because of the whole “commoner marrying a prince” thing, but in side-by-side comparisons, Mary does seem like a better/cooler/more accomplished person. Anyway, Mary and Frederick cover the August issue of Vogue Australia. Mary is sort of a hero (the Duchess Kate of Australia, if you will) in her home country, so it makes sense that they would do an exclusive photoshoot for Australian Vogue. The photoshoot was done by Mario Testino, and Mary and Frederick even included their four kids in one of the photos. They are parents to Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, and twins Vincent and Josephine. Here are some highlights from Mary’s interview: Whether she considers herself a role model: “I always find it difficult to speak of myself as a role model, you know, because I think it is other people and their impression of you that makes a role model. It’s not something I consciously think about but at the same time I am very aware of my role and my responsibility.” Her work with the conditions within the fashion industry: “It will take time to create real and sustainable change. If we are talking about the textile and fashion industry, it is one of the most female-dominated industries in the world and yet many of these working women are voiceless. I do use the platform I have built up over the years as a vocal and passionate voice for the empowerment of women and girls and the protection and respect of their human rights to bring attention to this.” Her foundation deals with issues of domestic violence, bullying and loneliness: “One thing I have always found difficult from as early as I can remember is seeing people who appear to be alone. It has always affected me deeply and I can’t explain why. To see people standing on the outside looking in, who can’t understand why they aren’t part of a community or group. We all have this innate fear of not belonging… We all have a right to belong. The abused woman, the bullied child, and the lonely adolescent feel very, very lonely in the world with their problems and will often never share them.” [From The Daily Mail] I think it’s difficult to make “loneliness” a cause, specifically a royal cause. Lots of people are alone, and lots of people are lonely, but she’s conflating those two things and making it seem like everyone who is alone is pitiable and sad. While “loneliness” is good subject to raise and de-stigmatize, what work is there to be done realistically? As for the rest of it, she sounds absolutely fine. It would be fascinating to see the Duchess of Cambridge do an interview like this at one point, but it won’t happen. Photos courtesy of Mario Testino for Vogue Australia.

Tom Hiddleston & Taylor are already talking about Tiddlebabies, Tiddlematrimony

As I mentioned at the end of Sunday’s post, Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift had a “date night” in Australia this weekend. They went out to eat at Gemelli, an Italian restaurant in Broadbeach. While there are many details of the date night, unfortunately none of those details involve Tiddles feeding each other pasta and meatballs, Lady and the Tramp-style, nor do the details involve fudge and swan pastries. According to Us Weekly, “Tom looked smitten with her as they talked softly and she giggled a lot” and Taylor’s skin looked “a little more sun-kissed than usual.” Us Weekly’s eyewitness went on in barf-inducing detail: “They were beaming as they gave warm smiles to onlookers, like any new couple who just can’t hide their feelings for each other.” People Magazine’s eyewitnesses also noted that Taylor told restaurant staffers that Italian food is her favorite and she was super-excited to try Gemelli’s food. Tiddles spent “several hours at dinner before returning to their hotel in a chauffeured car.” People Mag also notes that Tom and Taylor have been exceedingly polite to their fans, many of whom have gathered outside the hotel. Here are some photos of their date night: Ohhh, boy. Taylor Swift is just GLOWING with the look of love ? https://t.co/OXCZmadt7O pic.twitter.com/xC36WiEtkD — Daily Mail Celebrity (@DailyMailCeleb) July 10, 2016 So, all is well in Tiddlesville. In fact, things are going so well in their nearly month-old relationship that Taylor is already thinking about Tiddlebabies and Tiddlematrimony. Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston’s relationship appears to be moving forward even faster than originally thought. Less than a month after they made their romance public, the 26-year-old pop star sees the 35-year-old Thor actor as husband material and the two have also talked about their desire to have kids one day, a source told E! News exclusively Sunday. “This is the kind of a man she would want to marry,” the source said. “She has said he would make a great dad. They have talked about what they want in the future and kids are something that they would both like down the line. They have very real and serious conversations about life.” Swift, the source added, likes Hiddleston’s “English ways…She has told me that she loves his accent and thinks he is so sexy. He acts very English. He is also a big tea drinker.” Another source told E! News Swift “loves traveling with Tom,” who “makes her feel so safe…They are the real deal. They laugh and travel well together. These past few weeks, they have learned many things about each other…she is getting very attached. Tom gives Tay more attention than any other man she has ever been with. She likes his maturity. He…is a very romantic and charming gentleman.” An insider had told E! News after Swift’s Fourth of July party the singer’s “squad” of female friends “all really like Tom and like how he treats Taylor” and that while “things are moving fast between them,” her friends are not worried “because they never have seen her this happy.” “Tay can’t stop talking about Tom,” the second source told E! News Sunday. “It’s an ongoing conversation with the girls on how happy she is. Tay has mentioned numerous times how ‘in love’ with each other they are.” [From E! News] Of course she loves his “English ways.” He’s like the poster boy for a certain kind of posh Englishman, almost as if he was invented by Richard Curtis and Emma Thompson (although I bet Emma would love to tell Tom to take a seat right now). I love this though: “He acts very English. He is also a big tea drinker.” But what kind of tea, Tiddles? Anyway, I find it interesting that Team Swifty is leaking like a sieve. We’re getting multiple stories every week about how SHE loves him, how she’s impressed with him, how she can’t stop talking about him. Which is fine – that’s her brand. The “Tiddles” brand benefits her much more than him. But what is Tom getting out of it? Photos courtesy of Fame/Flynet.

People: Ben Affleck ‘still doesn’t want the divorce & he might get his way’

Forgive me for missing this story when it came out yesterday but in my defense these Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner stories start to run together after a while. It’s like the same story every few days with some minor tweaks. I guess we have to give them credit for sticking to message, which they’re hammering home. On the Fourth of July Ben Affleck and his maybe not-so-estranged wife, Jennifer Garner, were seen out together at a Fourth of July Parade with three of their children. You can see those photos here at the Daily Mail. The kids are dressed in red, white and blue but Ben is wearing a black t-shirt like he can’t be bothered and Jen is in a white sleeveless shirt with a black jacket over it. How hard is it to find something blue or red to wear on the Fourth of July? Maybe nothing is fitting Ben right. Just like last week, this week there’s another story in People about how these two are “making it work”. Instead of Jen being “adamant” about divorcing though, it now sounds like she’s given in and that she’s not going to push it. It’s been just over one year since Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their plans to split and during that time the two have maintained a close relationship – and still haven’t filed divorce papers. So what’s really going on? They’re still figuring things out,” a Garner friend tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “Ben still doesn’t want the divorce and he might actually get his way.” While the former couple have downplayed reconciliation rumors over the past year, they have continued living together, going on weekend outings with their kids and even vacationing as a family. This spring, Garner and their three children, Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4, moved to London for several weeks with Affleck, sharing a rented house and sightseeing in Europe while the actor filmed Justice League. “She had the best time in Europe with Ben and the kids,” says her friend. “She seemed much happier when she returned to L.A. Jen went from being very adamant that a divorce would happen to instead avoiding any divorce talk.” [From People] People’s cover features the story of kidnapping survivor Jaycee Dugard, I remember that so well and am glad she’s doing well, and Ben and Jen got an inset to the upper right. This is not the first time they’ve had a sidebar on the cover since their split – they were on the Kelly Ripa cover in May. Of course Ben and Jen got two People covers last summer, in July and August, when they split. Isn’t that what this is all about? Informing us of their daily mood changes so that we’ll keep covering them? It works, and people are interested. It’s kind of fascinating to watch, especially since Ben looks so emotionally checked out in paparazzi photos (to be fair maybe he just hates the paparazzi) with his family but still insists on keeping his marriage. It’s like he doesn’t want to be with Jen but doesn’t want to let her go, either. For what it’s worth she seems ok with it, if only because she wants her family together. For those of you who believe in ring watch – neither Ben nor Jen is wearing their wedding rings. I think Jen first took hers off last August, because she told the press all about it. Ben wasn’t wearing his by September. photo credit: FameFlynet
