John Legend: Blame ME For Bad Parenting, Not Just Chrissy!

John Legend is quickly earning our vote for husband of the year. Not only does he gush about Chrissy Teigen on the regular, he’s now instructing the momshaming brigade to fire their criticism at him, not just his wife. Last month, Teigen was attacked by the mommy mafia when she went out to dinner with her husband about a week after giving birth. “She’s hitting the streets already????” wrote one jerk on Twitter. “Damn these so called celebrities want to show off so bad after giving birth.”  “Spend bonding time with your baby and not let the nanny or babysitter raise them!” Naturally, Teigen hit back, but Legend thinks it’s unfair that she had to take all the heat. These days, moms and dads equally share the responsibility of child-rearing, yet Teigen received all of the criticism for the unforgivable crime of leaving daughter Luna with a sitter for a couple hours. The “All of Me” singer took to Twitter to point out the double standard and ponder why all the ire is directed toward the mom. “Funny there’s no dad-shaming,” he tweeted. “When both of us go out to dinner, shame both of us so Chrissy doesn’t have to take it all. We’ll split it.” I’m actually getting a little weepy here. This man just gets it. Literally and figuratively. On Mother’s Day, Legend shared a photo of his wife and daughter and included this tribute: “To my wonderful wife, @chrissyteigen. Luna and I are so lucky to have you in our lives. If our daughter can be even half as awesome as you, I will be so happy and proud. Happy 1st Mother’s Day!”   Methinks Chrissy and Luna are pretty lucky, too. People: Ben Affleck wants Jennifer Garner back, but she’s not ready

We just saw photos and video of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck with their kids in Paris, near where Ben is filming (and now executive producing) Justice League. They’re now in London I believe. Instead of leaving us to draw our own conclusions about the state of their relationship and whether they’re back together or just trying to show a united front for their kids, Jen’s pr team is spelling it out: he wants her back and she’s supposedly reticent. Yeah right. Nearly a year after Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their split, the two have continued to maintain a close relationship: living together, going on weekend outings with their kids and even vacationing as a family – including a trip to Paris last week. Is a reconciliation in their future? “Ben wants Jen back,” a source close to Garner tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue, with a second source adding, “Ben wants to get back together. He wants her back.” But while the two have yet to file for divorce and have remained friendly, the source close to Garner says they haven’t rekindled their romance. “Jen is not ready to take Ben back,” says the source. “Ben has never been good alone and isn’t now either. But he is constantly working on himself. He has made big changes.” [From People] This story is from Garner, obviously, and it’s even sourced to her. She’s claiming that he’s changed and she’s preparing to announce that they’re back together. It’s all very predictable, as is her status as a doormat. Maybe that’s unfair to her, a lot of women take their husbands back after various Beckys, but Ben cheated with their damn nanny! Even if they were separated at the time, that’s the lowest. I do think the fame-hungry nanny forced Garner’s hand by going public and that Garner’s type A personality made her try to control the narrative through every up and down in their relationship. That’s still playing out, and it seems she hasn’t realized when to just keep things to herself. We didn’t need to know this. She could have just taken him back and then given an interview sometime in the fall confirming it. By that time they’ll probably be separated again anyway. Jennifer Aniston throws shade on Manic Panic: ‘Pink & green hair could go away’

Jennifer Aniston gave yet another interview about economic policy, Brexit, international relations and the strength of Euro. Just kidding! She gave an interview about her hair. Aniston is currently promoting Mother’s Day, although you wouldn’t know it from this interview because she’s just shilling (endlessly) for Living Proof, the haircare company she partially owns. There is, I believe, a lot of junky non-science in here. Like, Aniston is about two seconds away from suggesting that women rub healing crystals on their split ends. Some highlights: Her new favorite haircare product: “The newest, coolest thing I’ve discovered from Living Proof and its scientific world is the Timeless Treatment. It’s a hair color protector. It goes on and looks like a cream conditioner, but you put it onto your hair from the roots down to the tip. You let it sit for five minutes and then shower and shampoo, which activates the product to seal and protect the color. Then you condition. The concept allows you to keep the richness of your color longer. It’s kind of amazing.” Don’t wash your hair with hot water: “Hot water is never good for your hair or skin, so I wash in warm water. It also depends on what day it is. If I’m working then I usually do wash it, because it has to have continuity, but if I’m not working I try to give my hair a break for as many days as possible. After the gym, if I have to be somewhere, I usually just throw some heat on it to dry the sweat and then do a little dry shampoo and a little Night Cap, and I’m fresh as a daisy. I can last a good three or four days without washing my hair, and all of this stuff just kind of keeps it fresh and alive and smelling great.” Her workout hairstyle: “I just wrap it up into whatever rubber band or clip I can find and it usually gets thrown on top of my head.” Her favorite hair trends: “I love a cut from afar, but I’m pretty classic and like to stick to what feels good for me. I don’t usually follow hair trends. I wish I could, but I always feel like I’m trying to be something I’m not. I love seeing these ’70s shags, though. They’re all super cute! And I always love a good highlighted head of hair.” Her least favorite hair trends: “Pink and green hair could go away. I don’t understand that to be honest, especially the green! Her hairstylist’s best advice: “His big advice is the less you mess with your hair, the better. Less is more, don’t touch it, don’t wash it every day, and just let it be. That way, it saves up your hair’s energy for when you have to go to work and be on camera and put it under the hot lights and driers and rollers. It’s really just about doing less and using good products to maintain its health.” [From Glamour] While some of this makes sense – and I’ve heard variations on it before – some of it just seems like someone who thinks way too much about her hair, to the point where she’s sort of talking nonsense. “It saves up your hair’s energy” doesn’t mean anything. If you want to argue that you shouldn’t overprocess your hair, fine. But you’re not “saving up your hair’s energy.” And I’ll never understand people who can go four days without washing their hair – especially if you’re going to the gym every other day or more! – but then again, I have really fine, oily hair. In Touch: Is Angelina Jolie pissed because Brad Pitt & Marion get along?

For months/years, there’s been a steady stream of split rumors about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Sometimes we talk about the rumors, but for the most part, we ignore them. I actually feel a little bit sorry for the tabloids because “Brangelina Split!” just doesn’t have the same kind of urgency that it once did. Sure, if you want to gossip about how By the Sea was a total failure and their relationship might be strained because of it, let’s do that. But we don’t have to pretend that Angelina and Brad still get crazy jealous about costars or whatever. Anyway, as we discussed a few weeks ago, Brad Pitt & Marion Cotillard are working together on the World War II-era espionage film Five Seconds of Silence. According to In Touch, Brad and Marion are getting along really well. So well that Angelina is so, so jelly. Things are going a little too well on the set of Brad Pitt’s upcoming flick ‘Five Seconds of Silence’ – and Angelina Jolie is not happy about it! “Brad it really bonding with his co-star Marion Cotillard,” a source tells In Touch. “They’re flirting and sharing jokes between takes.” That’s troubling for Angelina, with a source claiming: “Brad has become Marion’s one-man fan club. He comes home raving about how classy and talented she is and how much he loves her French accent. Angelina can’t stand it!” Even though there’s no romance between Brad and Marion, recently Angelina became so furious, she walked out. “She went to see Jack O’Connell in a play 140 miles from their home in London. She knew it would get under Brad’s skin.” It worked, and now the pair – who were already having marital issues – are more at odds than ever. “They have both been pushed to the brink. I imagine Brad did cry when Angelina “walked out”… to attend the play starring her friend. Personally, I would believe the Jack and Angelina hookup stories before I would believe Brad and Marion are happening. Marion – while beautiful and talented – is sort of a nutburger. In Touch: Drew Barrymore & Will have been separated for a year

Then of course they announced last Friday that they were formally splitting and planned to divorce soon. In Touch now claims that Drew is the one who decided to separate after she had a personal revelation during her 40th birthday vacation that she was unhappy in her marriage. This is consistent with everything we’ve heard in major celebrity outlets, and it’s not surprising that there’s a specific moment when Drew decided to leave. That seems so much like her. In Touch magazine, on newsstands tomorrow, is reporting that a turning point for Drew came in February 2015, when she turned 40. She took a trip to Hawaii and realized how unhappy she was. “Inside, she was crying,” a family insider tells In Touch. “She felt like she wasn’t in control of her life anymore.” Things got worse quickly. “Drew began contacting her attorneys in the fall of 2015,” the family insider adds. “She tried to keep it together for as long as she could, but their relationship was broken beyond repair.” “Part of the problem is that Drew and Will are total opposites. He’s very organized and used to keeping a schedule, and Drew’s flighty, always late and is truly a wild child at heart,” the family insider tells In Touch. “Because she came from a broken family, Drew tried so hard to play the devoted wife role. She desperately wanted that sense of family and stability, and for a while she thought she found that in Will.” But in 2014, she returned to the big screen with the Adam Sandler dud Blended. “At that point, she wanted to ramp up her career again and Will didn’t want her to,” says the family insider. “They fought bitterly about it.” Adds a source close to Drew, “There was no infidelity, nothing dramatic like that. This has been going on for a long time. They’ve been working on their issues. In the end, they feel like, ‘This is a bummer. We tried.’” The couple remains on good terms. “They are still living together,” says the source close to Drew. “They have places in NYC and in LA. Both are in LA right now, living in the same house.” [From In Touch] That sounds about right, and we’ve heard it several times now – Drew was unhappy, she did some soul searching, they tried for a while and ultimately ended it. It’s sad but it happens to so many couples. They seem to be putting their kids first and focusing on what matters. E! also has an insider story about Drew, and it reinforces the narratives in US Magazine and People this week. Their insider says that “This was a slow burn. It was not a decision that they came to over night. They worked on things for a long time and have had time to adjust.” As I mentioned yesterday, this sounds so much like all the stories around the Garner-Affleck split and I don’t think that’s a coincidence. Drew’s longterm friend, Cameron Diaz, was on Andy Cohen’s XM show promoting her new book recently. Andy asked her if she’d reached out to Drew after hearing about her split and she responded in general terms, but it sounds like she has. She said “Everybody pulls the wagons around, you know, our friends, whoever needs us in whatever point in time. Even if it’s something that the public doesn’t know about. Internally we’re all going, like, ‘OK, who needs us now?’ And that really is, I think, a major part of the connectivity we need. We need to keep those things connected.” So it sounds like Cameron has known for some time that Drew is having relationship trouble. Drew just talked about Cameron in her Marie Claire interview so I don’t doubt that Cameron has been helping her. Plus she recently Instagrammed this: I am so proud of my dearest girlfriend. When Rupert Murdoch married Wendi Deng in 1999, it was controversial. Murdoch was then a spry 68-year-old and Wendi was 31. At the time, it was his third marriage and her second. Deng has always been accused of trading in lovers and husbands for more money and power, and many side-eyed the fact that Deng had been the “homewrecker” two times in a row, breaking up her first husband’s marriage and then being the “other woman” in Murdoch’s second marriage. When the Deng-Murdoch marriage fell apart back in 2014, there were once again widespread rumors that Deng had already moved on to another more powerful lover, this time the very married Tony Blair. I don’t know what happened between Deng and Blair, but if it was ever something, it’s probably over now. Because Wendi Deng is reportedly dating… Vladimir Putin. How’s this for a new couple alert? The rumor circulating around the corridors of power — from Washington, D.C., to Europe and Asia — is that Vladimir Putin and Wendi Deng, Rupert Murdoch’s ex-wife, are dating. Reports of the pair have been floating around for years, ever since their respective divorces in 2014 and 2013. One insider close to the powerful leader tells Us Weekly the relationship is “serious.” The controversial Russian president, 63, was previously married to Lyudmila Putina for 30 years, with whom he shares daughters Maria, 30, and Yekaterina, 29. The Kremlin confirmed their divorce in April 2014. The politician rarely discusses his children, but during an annual news conference in December 2015, he boasted about his daughters to thousands of reporters, before shutting down more personal questions. “They studied only at Russian universities. I am proud of them. They continue to study and work. My daughters speak three European languages fluently. One of them can even speak one or two Oriental languages. They are making their first steps and are successful,” he told the crowd during the rare moment, before stating: “I never discuss questions related to my family. They are not involved in business or politics. They are not pushing for this.” Following Lyudmila and Putin’s split, the president was rumored to be dating Russian gymnast Alina Kabaeva. Putin was often featured in European gossip sites after Kabaeva stepped out in early 2015 looking “fuller,” igniting pregnancy rumors. Swiss newspaper Bild then reported that Putin had missed appearances because he had traveled to Switzerland to be by Kabaeva’s side, where she allegedly gave birth to their child at a Swiss hospital in March 2015. The Kremlin has repeatedly denied the rumors. Deng has yet to be spotted looking romantic with the Russian leader, but was seen boarding her pal Roman Abramovich’s yacht in St. Bart’s on Monday, March 28. Abramovich also happens to be friends with Putin. (According to the Daily Mail, the billionaire Chelsea Football Club owner reportedly gifted the president with a $35 million yacht in January.) [From Us Weekly] There’s no shadiness like Russian shadiness, my God. Putin received a “gift” of a $35 million yacht from Roman Abramovich? Yikes. And I still believe that Putin was dealing with that gymnast, Alina Kabaeva. In fact, that’s why the news surprised me so much – I was sure that if we ever heard anything else about Putin’s personal life, it was going to be that he married his young gymnast. As for the Deng-Putin power couple… I suspect they’ve both met their match. And it will either be perfect or it will be an utter disaster, nothing in between. Irina Shayk goes blonde for a Mert & Marcus shoot: divine or disaster?

I genuinely find Irina Shayk to be one of the most beautiful models around. My favorite is still Doutzen Kroes, but I really like Irina’s “look.” But not here. This just goes to show you: you can be arguably one of the most beautiful women in the world, and there are still looks and hair colors that you can’t pull off. Irina Shayk can’t pull off blonde. Now we know. Irina posted the above photo to her social media, writing: “Who said I can’t be blonde?” I DO. I say you shouldn’t be blonde, not that you can’t. Irina tagged the photo with Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott’s names, so I’m assuming this is for a magazine editorial, or possibly an ad campaign. In other words, it’s likely temporary and she’ll be brunette again in no time. I’m sure some of you will even theorize that it’s a wig, but I really don’t think so? I’ve been fooled before though, so who knows? Meanwhile, Irina is still going strong with Bradley Cooper, despite the now monthly tabloid reports of an impending split. They were out in NYC just a few days ago, holding hands – go here to see the photos. Meanwhile, did anyone else read Lainey’s blind item last week and immediately think of B-Coop and Irina?
