Anne Hathaway cried when a trainer made a comment about her ‘baby weight’

Anne Hathaway is currently promoting her role in Alice Through the Looking Glass, which is why she appeared on The Ellen Show on Tuesday. This was actually her first TV interview since giving birth two months ago, and honestly, I already see a difference in Anne. She’s really sleep-deprived, for one. And as I said yesterday, I think the sleep deprivation is making her kind of punch-drunk. Anyway, she told a story about going back to the gym after she gave birth to her son, Jonathan Rosebanks (who she calls Jonny). Is two months too early to go back to the gym? It’s different for every woman, and I’m sure Anne’s doctors gave her the nod. But still, she really did just give birth, so she had a particularly emotional reaction when some dude made a comment about her “baby weight.” Anne Hathaway gave birth only eight weeks ago, so she’s not totally ready to resume some of her normal routines. She did decide, however, that she would go back to the gym, but even that has been tough. “Being a Mom has changed me in a couple ways. I actually, not based on this moment, but other moments feel a lot more confident. Normally you walk into the gym and you see, I work out in West Hollywood, so you see like Thor’s trainer, you know the people who have too many muscles to be in The Avengers that’s who works out at my gym,” she explains, adding that she has returned to the gym only three times. “So I would normally walk in and feel so intimidated, but I walk in I’m like yeah I work out with 5 pound weights, but I pushed a baby out of my body I feel good right now. So I don’t care what I look like, I feel great. I’m on this [row] machine, whatever that does.” All of a sudden, someone started to stare at the Oscar-winning star, so at first she thought she was doing something incorrectly and became a little insecure. “I see this guy who does actually look like Thor’s trainer staring at me and I’m like, ‘Oh God. Am I doing something wrong?’” Hathaway recalls. “In the past I just would have slunk off my machine.” With her new mommy confidence, Hathaway explains that she asked the trainer if everything was OK, and they struck up a short conversation. But it didn’t end there. “He’s like, ‘So you been working out at this gym for a long time.’ And I’m like oh my God he’s hitting on me. Nice! New mom. I feel really good about myself and I’m like, ‘Oh, yeah I’ve been coming here for a little bit.’ He’s like, ‘Cool, I’m a trainer here and just wondering if you want some pointers.’ And I’m like, Oh no he’s not hitting on you he just wants a job.” Spoiler alert: He didn’t get the job because instead of giving her the proper response after she revealed she had recently given birth, he body shamed her. “If somebody says I had a baby 13 years ago you say you look great. That is what you do that is the etiquette,” she explains on the show. “So I say to this guy I had a baby seven weeks ago. And he goes, ‘Oh, trying to lose the baby weight!’” Hathaway explains that she kept her cool in the moment, but afterwards she walked away and cried! [From E! News] To be fair to the dude-face trainer, he didn’t assume that she had just had a baby, he waited until she said it. And he didn’t say, “Oh, that’s why you look that way.” But yeah, it was rude. Really rude. There’s such an epidemic of rude gym trainers, right? I’ve been going to the same gym for years and I have my routine and I know what I’m doing (for the most part) and I stay in my particular comfort zone. But inevitably, a new trainer will show up and try to tell me what I should be doing in a really patronizing way. Like, “Oh, do you understand how the treadmill works?” Yes, trust me, I understand. Now go away. As for Anne’s situation, the guy just wanted work and he probably thought he was being helpful. And she should have told him to just go away. Leonardo DiCaprio Takes Private Jet to Accept Environmental Award

This week, Leonardo DiCaprio was bestowed with a prestigious award for his environmental activism by New York nonprofit Riverkeeper. Awesome. Except that he arrived to the city via private jet. Maybe not so awesome. The actor was in France for the Cannes Film Festival when he jetted off to NYC, and then returned to the South of France the next day in another private jet. Needless to say, many fans weren’t thrilled, because that’s a lot of gas for just one dude. Nevertheless, DiCaprio’s rep explained that the Oscar-winner was due back in Cannes to speak at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala and had few options for transportation. “He was asked to speak at both Riverkeeper and amfAR events, but the only way to attend the two fundraisers was to hitch a ride with flights that were already planned,” the rep told Us Weekly. “Leo helped both events raise millions, donated his own funds, auctioned off his house and had speaking roles in both programs.” Yeah, but still. The optics. During the gala, DiCaprio auctioned off a stay at his Palm Springs home for $336,000, which benefitted the charity. DiCaprio dedicated a good portion of his acceptance speech at the Academy Awards this year to the subject of climate change. “Climate change is real. It is happening right now,” he told the audience. “It is the most urgent threat affecting our entire species.” “We need to support leaders around the world… who speak for all of humanity… I thank you all for this amazing award tonight. Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take this award for granted.” After the speech, he received a standing ovation and the adoration of environmentalists everywhere.

Duchess Kate repeats a nautical McQueen, flirts with Sir Ben Ainslie

It’s time for a flurry of wiglet adjusting and crotch clutching! Yes, the Duchess of Cambridge did a solo event today in Portsmouth to visit one of her favorite patronages, the 1851 Trust. And that means she got to spend time with hottie Sir Ben Ainslie. Everyone thinks/jokes about Kate’s crush on Ainslie. I do think that she seems particularly girlish and smiley around him, so take that as you will. For today’s event, Kate repeated a nautical-themed (she LOVES theme dressing!) Alexander McQueen look that we saw back in 2011, when she was newly married. The first time she wore this, she paired it with darkly lined eyes and big, bouncy curls. All to visit people who had been affected by the London riots. The nautical-themed ensemble seemed inappropriate then, but it’s very appropriate now. After all, the 1851 Trust is all about sailing and boats and such. So, big gold buttons and navy and cream. Meanwhile, William did a solo event earlier this week and most people would have just ignored him except that he dropped a piece of news about his kids. He spoke to some people at the event and he said that he was spending his time looking for schools for George. This set off a flurry of speculation about which primary school George would be sent to and whether it would be public or private, or in London or Norfolk. No one knows anything, but the Daily Mail has a list of potential candidates. I’ll make a prediction right now: I believe Will and Kate will really try to send George to school in Norfolk, not London. We’ll see if they’re allowed to remain in Norfolk much longer though. William’s contract with the EAAA runs out next year, and after that, the expectation will be that the family should move back to London. Photos courtesy of WENN.

Dr. Luke refuses to allow Kesha to perform at the Billboard Awards this Sunday

Here are some photos of Kesha at the Humane Society’s Rescue Gala a few weeks ago in LA. It’s good to see Kesha out and about these days, trying to reclaim her career and her life after everything that’s gone down legally and personally with Dr. Luke. The last time we checked in on Kesha’s legal situation, the federal judge had thrown out part of Kesha’s appeal, and Kesha was and is still legally and contractually tied to Dr. Luke and his label, Kemosabe Records. The judge seemed to believe that even if Kesha’s claims of physical and emotional abuse were true, Dr. Luke would still support Kesha’s music and give her free rein to record and perform, because capitalism. Let’s see how that’s working out, shall we? For several days, Kesha and her team were making a big deal about how she would be performing at the Billboard Awards on May 22 (this Sunday). She was going to perform a cover of Bob Dylan’s “It’s Ain’t Me, Babe.” She got written permission from Kemosabe Records, but then Dr. Luke rescinded the permission. So… yeah. FREE KESHA. Sad news for Kesha and her fans. The “TiK ToK” singer has been barred from taking the stage at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 22. Dick Clark Productions, which oversees the annual awards show, released a statement on Tuesday, May 17, revealing that the 29-year-old’s scheduled performance has been canceled by her producer, Dr. Luke, and her label Kemosabe Records. The singer has been in a contentious legal battle with Dr. Luke, 42, over allegations that he sexually abused her. “Kesha accepted an invitation to perform on the show and she received written approval from Dr. Luke’s record label, Kemosabe Records,” Dick Clark Productions said in a statement. “Kemosabe subsequently rescinded its approval following a media report on Wednesday May 11 regarding Kesha’s appearance on the BBMAs. Unfortunately, Kesha and Kemosabe have since been unable to come to an agreement for Kesha to perform on the show. Dick Clark Productions has a long standing relationship with Kesha. We hope that the parties can come to an arrangement such that we can continue that long standing relationship with a performance by Kesha on the Billboard Music Awards stage on May 22nd.” Not long after, Kesha took to Instagram to respond to the news that her BBMAs set has been canceled. “I was very excited to perform a tribute to Bob Dylan by singing a cover of ‘It ain’t me, babe’ at the Billboard awards this year. I’m very sad and sorry to say I won’t be allowed to do this,” she wrote. “I just wanted to make very clear that this performance was about me honoring one of my favorite songwriters of all time and has never had anything at all to do with Dr. Luke. I was never going to use a picture of him, speak of him or allude to my legal situation in any way. I simply wanted to sing a song I love to honor an artist I have always looked up to. thank u all for the continued support.” According to TMZ, Dr. Luke put a halt to Kesha’s performance after catching wind that it was reportedly going to make a “statement” about her legal war with her former collaborator and Sony. [From Us Weekly] Remember how the judge who threw out Kesha’s case and her appeal thought it would be easy-peasy for Kesha to record and perform without having to break her contract with Dr. Luke? That for Dr. Luke, it was always going to be about profit and money and not exerting control over his (alleged) victim? How’s that working out? With the dress’ frayed, open knit and saloon girl fringe draped over the arm combined with an exposed sheer black lace bra, I don’t think she needed the tussled locks for the just-rolled-out-of-bed look. In Chloë’s defense, she is wearing the look as it was shown on the runway, I’m just not sure she should have. Anyway, Chloë, 19, walked with OFFICIAL boyfriend, Brooklyn Beckman, 17, on their first red carpet! The couple started dating about two years ago but were cagey about their status for some time. Well, no longer: Social Media Posting? Check. Official Confirmation? Check. Red Carpet Appearance? Check – folks, this relationship has lift-off. Brooklyn, looking a great deal like Blane from Pretty in Pink, happy posed with his girlfriend on her big night and the two shared the same amount of PDA as they did while dining with their families last month. Chloe Grace Moretz and Brooklyn Beckham just took a major step in their relationship. The two hit their first red carpet together earlier tonight at the Hollywood premiere of Moretz’s new comedy Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. “Now, it’s out. It’s done,” Moretz, 19, told me. “Get over it. It’s real. We’re together and that’s it!” Beckham, 17, actually surprised Moretz by flying in for the premiere from London. “He’s very sweet,” Moretz said, adding, “He’s a very very genuine man. He’s a gentle man.” The two took some photos before Moretz made her way down the carpets to do interviews. Beckham was spotted hanging out behind the step and repeat before heading into the theater. Moretz also gushed about Brooklyn’s mom Victoria Beckham. Yes, they talk about fashion. “She’s a sweetie,” said Moretz, who was wearing a black ensemble from Alexander McQueen. “I love everything she does. We definitely give each other compliments, that’s for sure.” The raunchy Neighbors sequel is something different for Moretz. In fact, she even shot a sex scene with Efron. While it didn’t make the final cut of the movie, Moretz said, “We’re going to release it online pretty soon. It’s pretty wild.” [From E! News] Okay, it’s kind of sweet that he flew in to surprise her for the premiere – but that is as generous as I am going to get. Is it just me or is Chloë reading a little more importance into her relationship than, say, the rest of the world? “Get over it”? Well, gosh, give me a minute to… oh, wait – I am over it. Moreham (Chlooklyn?) does want us to know that they have only recently reunited. This may be due to the fact that Brooklyn’s relationship with Sonia Ben Ammar just ended in March. However, reminding the world she had him first, Chloë told Entertainment Tonight that they met, “a long time ago, years ago.” She also says Brooklyn’s, “… a sweetie. He’s a good boy!” (ruff!) In the excerpt above, she calls Victoria Beckham “a sweetie” as well. So I guess all the Beckhams are just a big bunch of sweeties. I may pass on the sex scene between Chloë and Zac Efron, though. Chloe may be 19 but she doesn’t quite look it to me. The good news for Chloë is Neighbors 2, which opens this Friday, is – so far – getting semi-decent reviews as a comedy. Justin Bieber Gets FACE TATTOO, Fans Cry

When your blessed with a face as beautiful as Justin Bieber’s, why on earth would you want to mark it up with a self-inflicted, permanent scar? Your face is your money maker, Justin. Don’t you know that? No matter, because the singer just carved a new tattoo into his mug, just under his left eye. Luckily, it’s a small piece of art, unlike the monstrous face tat Zayn Malik showed off earlier this year (luckily, it wasn’t permanent). The Biebs reportedly got matching tattoos of a tiny cross with his good friend Joe Termini while they were in New York City earlier this week. Justin posted a dark, grainy selfie to Instagram in which you can see the new ink, although to me it looks more like a grain of wild rice. Not all his fans were thrilled with the new addition. “@justinbieber swear to god kid if you tattoo more of your beautiful face I quit,” wrote one fan. “This better be the only face tattoo you’ll ever get @justinbieber,” warned another. Beliebers recently breathed a sigh of relief after their idol got rid of his terribly unpopular dreadlocks, and now they’ve got this to deal with. However, the cross tattoo could be a sign that the pop star is in the midst of a religious awakening. Earlier this week, he shared a photo of a celestial nature to Instagram and gave a shout out to his homey God. “I am so lucky to share these moments with you, I am so glad God is able to move even when people are blind to it,” he wrote in the caption. “I am the one on that stage but I am nothing without a light shining through,” he continued. “I’m such an average, ordinary person that doesn’t deserve the praise. I believe it belongs to my God! Thank you God for showing up when we need you the most!” Justin also sports a cross tattoo on his chest and one of Jesus on his left calf.
