Chloe Grace Moretz Stands By Comments on Kim Kardashian’s Nude Selfie

Back in March, Kim Kardashian got everyone gabbing about a nude selfie she posted on Instagram. Now, we’ve seen Kim naked on many occasions, but something about this particular selfie generated a larger conversation among celebs and fans alike. While Bette Midler and Piers Morgan made jokes about the selfie queen’s post, Chloe Grace Moretz brought up a more serious point. “@KimKardashian I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies,” the 19-year-old tweeted. Kardashian didn’t take kindly to the criticism and shot back with some shade. “Let’s all welcome @ChloeGMoretz to twitter, since no one knows who she is,” wrote Kim. “Your Nylon cover is cute boo.” Now, Moretz addresses her response in an interview with Glamour magazine. “I was at dinner with my family [when] I got the notification [on my phone],” she told the publication. “I look at it and I go, ‘Oh my God. She responded,'” Moretz remembered. “My mom took the most offense to it because it was girl-on-girl hate and Kim didn’t come back with an educated response on body confidence,” she continued. “It was aggressive, and also it was incorrect.” View Slideshow: Kim Kardashian Nude Selfie: 8 Celebrity Copycats! “I don’t have 45 million followers or a TV show that follows my life, but people know who I am,” she added. “I pride myself on having opinions, and I don’t express them in snarky ways toward people.” After Moretz’s tweet, Kardashian wrote an lengthy essay defending herself and denouncing critics who spoke out against her nude selfie for what she believed was slut-shaming. “I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality,” wrote the reality TV star, adding, “It’s 2016. The body-shaming and slut-shaming—it’s like, enough is enough.” Moretz, however, didn’t buy Kardashian’s thinly veiled attempt to pass off an attention grab as a statement on female empowerment. “That picture wasn’t linked to body confidence. It wasn’t a #BodyConfidence or #LoveWhoYouAre,” she said. “It was done in a slightly voyeuristic light, which I felt was a little inappropriate for young women to see.”  “I would hate for young women to feel they need to post certain photos in order to gain likes, retweets, favorites, and male attention,” added the actress.  “I wasn’t slut shaming. It’s not about body shaming.” You know what? We believe her. View Slideshow: 15 of the Most EPIC Kardashian-Jenner Feuds Ever!

US: Kelly Ripa may quit Live if she doesn’t get one of her friends to co-host

I saw Live with Michael and Kelly yesterday and while I haven’t watched this show enough to have a frame of reference it looked like things were back to normal. They came out holding hands, they were joking around about eyelash extensions and butt padding and they seemed to have a great rapport. At times Kelly looked uncomfortable but you had to be looking for it. If it wasn’t for all the stories you wouldn’t know that they were having issues and that Michael is leaving in just two weeks. They never brought it up. He’s leaving early though, whether that was due to Kelly throwing a fit or just an executive decision it’s hard to tell. Kelly’s issue seems to be more with the ABC executives who kept her out of the loop than with Michael, who was just following orders not to tell her. Kelly is said to still be playing hardball at ABC after staying away for five days. Us is reporting that she’s threatened to quit if she doesn’t get one of her friends, either Anderson Cooper or Andy Cohen, to cohost. A source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly that Kelly Ripa “is talking about leaving” Live with Kelly and Michael after Michael Strahan announced his exit from the show for a permanent gig at Good Morning America. (Strahan was originally supposed to make the move in September, but the show announced this week that his last day on air will be May 13.) Although Ripa, 45, returned to the show after a four-episode hiatus Tuesday, April 26, the source says she still feels “blindsided” that producers and Strahan, 44, broke the news to her just moments before the April 19 public announcement: “She considers it a sign of disrespect.” Now, the 15-year Live vet will wait to see who producers seat beside her to help weigh her options for the future. They’re considering actor Jerry O’Connell, says the source, but Ripa “hopes Anderson Cooper or Andy Cohen gets the job.” Unfortunately, it’s not likely that one of Ripa’s pals will come aboard, due to their prior commitments (the CNN journalist is covering the election and the Watch What Happens Live host is under contract with Bravo), so the show may not go on for Ripa. Says the source, “Unless one of them can come on, she doesn’t really want to do it.” [From US Magazine] This is likely a negotiation tactic to make sure that Kelly has a say this time, because if she really means this it’s short-sighted for a couple of reason. One, just because she’s good friends with someone (she has known both Cooper and Cohen for years) does not mean they’re the best choice for a co-host. Working with a friend can bring up all sorts of problems you wouldn’t have with someone you only know in a professional capacity. And two, both of those guys are super busy with their own shows as US points out. This sounds like Kelly is just trying to get her way, but keep in mind that it could also be a planted story meant to make her look like a diva. We know the network is not above that, think of how TMZ got the news that Kelly’s finances are overextended. People reports that both Cooper and Cohen will come on as guest hosts following Strahan’s exit and that additional hosts will include Josh Groban and Seth Meyers. It’s unknown when a permanent host will be chosen and a source tells People “They’re prepared to keep cycling people through even if its not resolved by the fall.” E! Online has a think piece about this while debacle. (I really like their editorials lately, they seem to be going in a new direction.) They have quotes from a media expert who says that the way this has played out so far “it looks like Kelly won” against the network. Their source also gives ABC credit for letting Kelly say her piece at the beginning of her return show and not trying to censor or pre-tape her remarks. Also, Bellamy Young of “Scandal” was a guest on Tuesday’s show and she said that although there was tension backstage it all felt completely professional during her interview. Kathy Lee Gifford, who was replaced by Kelly on Live 15 years ago after she put in 15 years with Regis, has some advice for Kelly which sounds like delicious shade. She said “Be totally professional. I would keep anything that is going on between you private. It’s nobody’s business but yours. But always, always be professional at your job. That’s what you’re hired to do.” You know Kathy does not consider it professional to take a bunch of days off work and then insist that a friend be hired to work with you. Game of Thrones Season 7: It’s a Go!

HBO has announced that it has picked up Game of Thrones for a seventh season. In related news: the sky is blue, the Pope is Catholic and Prince was an amazing musical talent. The network made this pretty obvious confirmation just days before Game of Thrones Season 6 premieres on Sunday night at 9 p.m. There had never been any doubt that the series would be renewed for a seventh or an eighth season, with showrunner David Benioff recently telling Variety that there may only be “13 episodes” remaining after Season 6 is complete. “We’re heading into the final lap,” Benioff said, acknowledging that the final two seasons may be broken up into six and seven episodes, respectively. HBO did not mention in this announcement just how many installment will comprise Season 7, which will kick off in the spring of 2017. The cable network also announced that Veep and Silicon Valley, both of which premiere this Sunday, have been renewed for next year. As for what fans can expect on Season 6? As usual, everyone involved with the epic drama has remained as tight-lipped as possible regarding upcoming storylines. Moreover, the show has actually now outpaced George R.R. Martin, whose latest novel will NOT be complete by the time new episodes air. So even loyal book fans are in the dark regarding what’s on tap. This much we know, however: Jon Snow is dead… … until he gets brought back to life, that is. Trust us. This is 1,000% happening.

Katherine Heigl: ‘I absolutely owe anyone an apology I unwittingly offended’

Kitty litter spokeswoman Katherine Heigl would like to explain why she shouldn’t have said all of the terrible things she’s said. Heigl appeared on Howard Stern’s show on Wednesday – perhaps to shill kitty litter? – and she and Stern ended up getting into EVERYTHING. It would involve about a million links, so perhaps it’s best to glance through our Heigl archives from the past, say, seven years. Or more. She’s been a pill for the better part of a decade and there are dozens of instances of her unpleasant attitude, diva behavior and general sourness. And what’s funny is that Howard Stern basically asked her about all of it. On criticizing Knocked Up after it made her a star: “That was dumb. I liked the movie a lot. I just didn’t like me. She was kind of like, she was so judgmental and kind of uptight and controlling and all these things and I really went with it while we were doing it, and a lot of it, Judd allows everyone to be very free and improvise and whatever and afterwards, I was like, ‘Why is that where I went with this? What an a–hole she is!’ It was, again, one of those situations, it was a huge opportunity for me. I was being interviewed for Vanity Fair. Like, I was on the cover of Vanity Fair, it was a huge big deal for me. And the journalist…just said, ‘You know a lot of women felt it was a little sexist’ so then I felt obligated to answer that and so I tried in my very sort of ungracious way to answer why I felt that it maybe was a little.” She admits she didn’t even call Judd Apatow to apologize: “I probably should’ve [called them]. But what I did was very, I did it publicly instead and kind of tried to say, look, this was not what I meant and this was an incredible experience for me and they were incredibly good to me on this movie, so I did not mean to s–t on them at all. I’ve thought about like, writing a note. I feel embarrassed. I don’t want it to feel insincere on any level.” Why she announced that she was withdrawing her name from Emmy consideration in 2008: “I didn’t feel good about my performance. There was a part of me that thought, because I had won the year before, that I needed juicy, dramatic, emotional material and I just didn’t have that that season… I went in [to speak to Shonda Rhimes] ’cause I was really embarrassed. So I went in to Shonda and said, ‘I’m so sorry. That wasn’t cool. I should not have said that’…I shouldn’t have said anything publicly but at the time, I didn’t think anybody would notice. I didn’t know that journalists would see who submitted and who didn’t. I just quietly didn’t submit and then it became a story and then I felt I was obligated to make my statement and ‘shut up, Katie.’” She owes apologies to a lot of people: “I absolutely owe anyone an apology I unwittingly offended or disrespected. I get it. It was an immature dumbass moment.” She started going to therapy: “I started going because of the scrutiny – and I was not handling it well. I was feeling completely like the biggest piece of s— on the bottom of your shoe. I was really struggling with it and how to not take it all really personally.” She found herself acting timidly on sets: “I was like, ‘This is nonsense. Stop it. Get some help and own your voice.’ “ [From E! News and People] Just my opinion: she’s still full of sh-t. You can hear the bullsh-t and lies and inadvertent truths dripping off these quotes. “…That I needed juicy, dramatic, emotional material and I just didn’t have that that season…” Meaning she still feels like she was fundamentally justified for throwing the writers under the bus. Meaning she still feels like her material was sub-par and it was her duty to say so publicly. And then: “I’ve thought about like, writing a note. I feel embarrassed. I don’t want it to feel insincere on any level.” Why would it be “insincere,” Heigl? Because you would just be apologizing with an eye-roll? Because she’s still pissed off that people are still disgusted by how many times she “unwittingly” offended and disrespected them. Photos courtesy of WENN.

Who had the best dress & jewels at the Tiffany Blue Book Ball in NYC?

Here are some photos from Friday night’s Tiffany Blue Book Ball in NYC. Four major actresses/celebrities came out for the event, and considering they were all DRIPPING in fabulous jewels, I totally believe that Tiffany’s paid them all to be there, looking fabulous and wearing certain high-end pieces. Those ladies? Jessica Biel, Diane Kruger, Reese Witherspoon and Naomi Watts. I’m trying to include some close-ups of the jewels too. First up, here’s Jessica Biel in The Row. I’m starting with the worst, just FYI. While Mary-Kate and Ashley’s The Row is a well-respected line, I always struggle to understand why anyone thinks this looks good? This dress looks so cheap and basic. Biel doesn’t help the underwhelming dress either, she was aiming for less-is-more and she just looked like she was in desperate need of lipstick and a hairstylist. Diane Kruger knows how to stand out. This Kaufmanfranco look would have looked ridiculous on another woman, but Diane is killing it. Also, Diane got the BEST necklace. Diamonds, emeralds, aquamarines, sapphires, possibly some tourmalines? It’s really gorgeous. The silhouette on Reese Witherspoon’s J. Mendel dress is incredibly flattering, but I still don’t really care for the look as a whole. I think the flower applique/beading sort of morphs into something moldy-looking. And I wish Reese had done something else with her hair. Still, the necklace she got to wear? Perfection. CB loves Naomi Watts while I’m sort of meh on Watts and her style. She never looks hideous, but sometimes I do think Watts is stuck in a style rut. This Prada is a good example – I know why Naomi picked it, it’s because she thinks ice-blue looks good with her coloring, and because she likes these frothy, light dresses. But no one on her styling team realized that the ice blue was very similar to the “Tiffany Blue” of the background, which means Naomi looks like she’s blending into the wall. That’s a rookie mistake, IMO. Photos courtesy of WENN.

Duchess Kate wears decade-old boots, skinny jeans for Bhutan hike: cute?

Embed from Getty Images It’s been said before, but it’s worth repeating: the Duchess of Cambridge is at her best when she gets to do something athletic. When the photo-op involves running, hiking or being sporty, she does well. So these photos are totally fine with me – William and Kate took a three-hour hike today in Bhutan. It was an uphill climb/hike to the Tiger’s Nest monastery built into a clifftop. It’s one of the biggest tourist sites in Bhutan, which brings me to another point that a lot of the royal reporters have been making… just like Will and Kate’s Australia/New Zealand tour two years ago, this tour has seemingly involved a lot of tourist activities, almost like this is a government-sponsored vacation. Of course Will and Kate wanted to see the Tiger’s Nest and of course they enjoyed themselves. But don’t call it a royal tour, you know? Call it what it is: a vacation. For the hours-long hike, Kate chose a decent ensemble. Meaning, at least she didn’t attempt a lengthy hike in wedges or heels. She actually pulled out some brown Penelope Chilvers boots which she’s had in her closet for more than a decade. Kate was actually wearing these boots in one of her most famous college-era photos (go here to see). The boots cost £475. She paired her old boots with skinny jeans (that likely have some stretch), a simple white blouse and the £495 Nubuck vest/waistcoat. I don’t understand why a three-hour hike wouldn’t have been a perfect moment for a ponytail, but then again, I’m not a duchess. Apparently, as they were hiking, Kate joked that they were “burning off the curry.” The Daily Mail also points out that William was working up a sweat but that Kate is so sporty that she was breezing through the hike. I love that the @KensingtonRoyal Twitter manager posted the butt shot like that was the big take-away image from the hike. Eva Mendes, 42, and Ryan Gosling, 35, are expecting their second child

Well surprise surprise. Even though the tabloids would have you believe that Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling’s relationship is in tatters because he’s obviously got eyes for Emma Stone, the truth of the matter seems to be that Ryan and Eva are totally fine. So fine that she’s pregnant again! Eva Mendes has another bun in the oven! Multiple sources confirm exclusively to Us Weekly that the actress and her longtime boyfriend, Ryan Gosling, are expecting their second child together. According to a source, the mom of daughter Esmeralda, 17 months, was spotted hiding her burgeoning bump during a photo shoot in Los Angeles in February. In an October 9 interview on the Today Show, Mendes, 41, revealed that she’s taking a break from Hollywood to focus on her family. “If I’m even like, ‘Oh, what should I wear? Or, should I do this project? All I have to think about is my daughter and her face, and I know the answer immediately,” the Lost River actress said. “She’s my moral compass in a way.” [From Us Weekly] People Magazine seems to be confirming the news, and the Daily Mail has the photos of Eva “hiding her bump” here. It’s a lot like the Blake Lively thing earlier this week – Eva just looks knocked up even though we can’t really see a bump. What surprises me more than anything is that Eva is 42 years old… officially, although there’s always been gossip about how she’s shaved a few years off. And she seemingly got knocked up without any fertility treatment drama. Granted, we don’t know for sure, but it seems like she just wanted another baby and she got pregnant pretty quickly. Anyway, congrats to Eva and Ryan! Photos courtesy of Fame/Flynet.
