She announced that she would be going to Cleveland ahead of time, almost as if she was hoping for a speaking slot at the RNC. Which isn’t going to happen on Mike Pence’s watch, you know. So Caitlyn just had to be RNC-adjacent at an American Unity Fund Q&A session, where she talked about her long-standing love of all things Republican, even though the GOP would much rather refer to her as Bruce and discriminate against every part of her life. Some assorted quotes from Cait’s Q&A session. Coming out as Republican: “It was easy to come out as trans. It was hard to come out as Republican.” She’s a Republican because her dad serves in the military: “And if my dad knew what was going on in this country when he fought so hard, I think he’d be very disappointed. Because of that, I feel like our best hope to get back to a constitutional government… is a Republican Party… I’m not giving up on this country. I’m not giving up on this constitution. I want jobs for everybody.” North Carolina’s bathroom laws: “I haven’t used a men’s room in a year and a half. I follow the rules. I never flush a feminine product down the toilet.” How she came out to her kids: “God said, ‘Let’s give this one the soul of a female and see how he does.’” Changing hearts & minds: “I think the Republican Party needs to understand. They need to know people who are trans.” What she wants to tell Trump: “I would tell Donald that there are people out there that have been marginalized for so many years… It’s about the next generation coming up. We have to provide a safe environment for them.” [From USA Today] I know Caitlyn is a Republican because of the way she talks about why she’s a Republican. It’s the same vague, illogical, superficial, uninformed way that many die-hard Trump voters talk about why they’re voting for Trump. Because “freedom” and “my dad was in the military” and “making America great” and “the Constitution or whatever” and “you know, like, freedom.” In what way was George W. Bush’s administration MORE of a “constitutional government” than Barack Obama’s administration? Do Republicans believe that no active-duty military personnel or veteran has voted Democrat, ever? Benji Madden: Cameron Diaz is ‘a modern day feminist’ who shares positivity

Embed from Getty Images Benji Madden has a new extensive interview in Newsweek for the 20th anniversary of his band, Good Charlotte (with his twin brother, Joel). Good Charlotte returned from a multi-year hiatus to release a new album last week. I’m not too familiar with Benji and apart from the fact that he seems to be genuinely in love with and supportive of his wife, Cameron Diaz, I don’t have a strong opinion about him. A quick glance at our archives reminds me that he’s dated several famous women including Paris Hilton and Holly Madison and apart from hearing about his other occasional hookups, I haven’t heard a bad word about him in the 10 years I’ve run this site. No scandals, no paparazzi beat-downs, no DUIs. That’s really saying something. So he seems like a serial monogamist and a standup guy. He’s also very supportive of Cameron, and they’ve each gushed about each other on their social media and to the press. That’s all background to this interview, which just impressed me with how wise and thoughtful he sounds. I mean I don’t agree with him about Cameron Diaz, but he comes across extremely well. On how the music industry can be hard on artists My brother and I feel blessed to have survived and still have loving, connected relationships with each other, with our wives, with our family. We feel like: “Hey, there are a lot of artists who might be able to use our experiences.” We’ve been able to withstand a lot of things in the industry because we had each other. We feel protective of other artists. This is not a business that is set up in favor of artists. It’s important for artists to value themselves—whatever that means. Everyone’s going to take that in a different way. If you don’t value yourself, you will be bought and sold. On the public’s obsession with celebrity I think it’s a very unhealthy trend that will eventually be broken when people realize how hollow it is for our minds, it’s very cancerous…it’s like fast food. Fast food companies are trending down, lots of places are going out of business. People figured out: “This is killing us, it’s f-king terrible.” The celebrity obsession is doing the same thing for our minds—it’s very hollow and I think that trend is going to break soon enough. On how Cameron uses her platform for good I’m extremely proud of what she uses her platform for. She just released The Longevity Book, and before that she had The Body Book [a lifestyle guide to diet and health], and she spent thousands of dollars doing all the research, to get information to share with women who don’t necessarily have the resources to get that information. She’s a modern day feminist—she wants to change the conversation that’s being had about women and ageing. With The Body Book, she wanted to share all this information she has gathered over the years with women so they can live happy, pain-free lives. I’m proud of her because of what a light she is in a world where it would be so much easier to use that stage to promote products. But she’s using that platform she has to share positivity. It’s been one of the most inspirational things in my life watching a woman be so courageous…she’s got so much integrity. I’m a lucky guy that I get to experience that. [From Newsweek] He talks a lot about the industry and about how music gets made and artists are managed, and I didn’t excerpt that as it’s not relevant but it’s worth a read. Benji wants to empower young artists to do it on their own and not get chewed up by the industry, which can be brutal. Getting back to Benji’s thoughts on Cameron, she tried. I covered a lot of the press she did for The Longevity Book and she made some misinformed statements about women and aging, but she tried and she meant well. She’s not an authority on health or aging but she used her platform to try to be. It’s true that she’s not just shilling products, and that’s something. Also, of course I disagree with Benji’s opinion that celebrity obsession is terrible for us. Using his same fast food analogy, you can go to McDonalds and get something to eat once in a while, you just balance your calories and get your nutrients from other meals. Just because you like to follow celebrity news doesn’t mean you’re not informed about more serious events or that you don’t care. Sometimes we need a diversion. Here’s a video that Cameron shared of Benji. She left this gushing caption about how proud she is of him, which seems to be mutual. One of my favorite things about being married, is how much pride I take in my husband @benjaminmadden… He makes me proud everyday.. One day it might be how generous and giving, another how gentle and thoughtful. Or when he is fiercely protective of the people he loves and cares about… And everyday single day I am so incredibly proud of his integrity as a human being.. But TODAY what I'm most proud of is his talent… his gift…. Today his band @goodcharlotteband released their first album in 6 years #YouthAuthority .. What makes me even more proud is that he has released it on his own independent label MDDN… And it is so damn GOOOOOOOOD… Its so full of love and hope and truth… about forging and holding onto love… I wish that everyone could write music to express their pain.. their fears… their hopes and dreams. Kim Kardashian is going to drag Taylor Swift in an upcoming ‘KUWTK’ episode

I’m always worried that interesting, fun gossip is going to fall off a cliff when we get to the sultry summer months, but for several years now, we’ve had some great “summer stories.” This summer’s amazing Tiddlebanging is the big story, but I think we’re also going to get a lot of pap stroll photos of Kim Kardashian this summer because she’s lost all of her pregnancy weight and she wants people to look at her body. And that’s always fun, because Kim’s style just gets worse and worse. These are photos of Kim in Malibu with her BFF Jonathan Cheban yesterday. Kim’s ensemble is a DISASTER. And it was glorious. Kim wore a matchy cowgirl look from Peter Dundas at Roberto Cavalli. Kim-In-Cavalli is the new “Kim in Balmain.” And while I appreciate the fact that a curvy girl like Kim can wear some major designers, she never really looks good in those clothes, probably because those clothes were designed for tall, leggy, curveless women. What bugs me about this look is the WASH. The light acid-wash denim looks so, so bad. I can’t believe we ever thought that denim wash looked good. Meanwhile, it really does look like the #TaylorSwiftPartyIsOver, especially for the Kardashian-Wests. In an upcoming episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim is going to talk about the Taylor Swift-“Famous” controversy. Kim tells her mother “I did an interview with GQ,” referencing this interview. Rami Malek: It’s harder to talk to new people in LA than it is in New York

I really do listen when you guys request more coverage (or to start covering) new or interesting dudes. I’m still looking for an excuse to write more about Matthias Schoenaerts, who is my latest major crush (and who never gets pap’d). I’d also love to write about Aidan Turner or James Norton, but honestly, we rarely get photos of those guys and there are never any stories about them. Seriously! We’ve had requests for MOAR Rami Malek, and more general love for Mr. Robot over the past year. The first season of Mr. Robot was dark and weird and disturbing, and many believe the show is one of the most interesting things on TV these days, and that Rami Malek, the star, is the Next Big Thing. One of Rami’s biggest fans is Robert Downey Jr. RDJ has name-checked Rami in a few interviews, and RDJ also cited Mr. Robot as one of his favorite TV shows. So guess who interviewed Rami for Interview Magazine? RDJ, of course! Mr. Robot Season 2 just started last night, that’s why Rami is chatting. You can read the full piece here. While it’s a nice read, there’s not a lot of noteworthy stuff here. Malek seems like a nice guy, but he also seems to be living the job, or he just plays his personal life very close to the vest. Some highlights: On RDJ visiting the set of Mr. Robot: “That was amazing. You turned me into a hero when you came to set. I’m not kidding. They were like, “You know him?” “How do you know him?” I knew it was very cool to know you, but the world started paying me more attention on that day on set. Maybe I elaborated on our relationship too much and started fantasizing it was more than it actually was. No, I just told them how close we were and that we hang out, we celebrate holidays together, we watch movies together, all of which is true!” He’s an honorary New Yorker now: “I’ve always felt like I belong there. Growing up [in L.A.] and having a family here was something that I, of course, adored because I was surrounded with that unit. But from the first time I went over there, I felt connected to the way things move, the pace, the ability to strike up a conversation with anybody. I know that people often say it’s hard to talk to people in New York. I think it’s harder sometimes in L.A. But I like the neighborhood vibe, I like getting on the train and going anywhere with that type of speed, having everything at my disposal. The culture, the pace, all of it. I like feeling like I’m in that concrete jungle.” Whether he’ll be typecast because of Mr. Robot: “It’s something that I think about daily. I don’t want people to look back and think, “This character was entirely in his wheelhouse, and he’s probably going to end up playing a bunch of paranoid guys who have conspiracy theories.” Which could easily happen! I’ve had my fair share of 1970s conspiracy movies delivered over. I would love to turn around and do something polar opposite, and that might actually be happening soon. If the right people are involved and the script is just as powerful, I’d like to make some even crazier choices.” [From Interview Magazine] True story: I really did try to get into Mr. Robot during the first season but I just couldn’t. It was too dark and I kept losing track of the evil characters. Maybe I’ll give it another shot, because there are some hardcore devotees. As for Rami being typecast… one of my favorite pieces of trivia about him is that he was in both of the Night At the Museum movies. And he was in Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2. He won’t be typecast! E! News: Taylor Swift did not get a boob job, she has ‘always liked her breasts’

Taylor memorably and notably got a boob job back in 2012. I remember that story, because I felt like a boob-job investigator, going through months of photos to try and determine when the boob job happened. My guess is still April 2012 for the first boob job. And over the years, her boob job had a sort of wonky look, depending on her bra or top. Sometimes they looked hard and very LeAnn Rimes-esque, let’s say. But I strongly suspect that a few months ago, Taylor went away and got another boob job. I think she went up a cup size and/or fixed some bad work. What’s weird is that people are just now noticing that Swifty is not all-natural. Page Six ran this Forever 21 Instagram (above) of Taylor in their bikini, and wondered aloud if Taylor really has been enhanced. Yes. She is. She has been enhanced for more than four years. And now she’s re-enhanced. But according to Taylor Swift’s unnamed friends (her publicist), Taylor’s breasts are completely untouched. It’s the question that’s been floating around for a bit of time now: Did Taylor Swift get breast implants? After being photographed while out and about lately with Tom Hiddleston and then again most recently during her Fourth of July party— rocking a very flattering America bikini top—people couldn’t help but notice something a little, er, bigger about her chest, automatically assuming the country-turned-pop singer went under the knife. Well, sorry to burst your bubbles (or silicon dreams), but a source tells E! News she did not get a boob job and any rumors surrounding that idea are totally false. In fact, another source tells us Taylor has “always liked her breasts.” The insider explained that she “likes the fact she can go bra-less and have them still be perky.” [From E! News] Er, they’re perky because they’re man-made! I mean, props to Taylor for getting implants the correct size for her frame, but let’s be honest: they are implants. Absolutely. But I think it’s absolutely hilarious that Taylor is so controlling and obsessive that it bothers her to know that we’re sitting out here, talking about her boob job. That’s why this E! News story happened – because Taylor reads the comments. She reads the tweets. She reads the Tiddlesbanging coverage. Hey, girl! I think your boob job looks really nice now. The drama surrounding Kylie Jenner and Tyga continues to get crazier. There’s no denying that Tyga is not someone who should be trusted. He has the WORST track record. Now, with word of Tyga and Kylie rekindling their romance, there are fresh reports that Tyga is treating Kylie badly in order to keep her keen. Okay then. We didn’t know THAT was still a thing, but this is Tyga. “He’s a total control freak and totally working her into a jealous frenzy whenever he gets the chance,” an insider told Radar. “It’s how he’s always kept her hooked — by playing on her insecurities.” Kylie has every reason to have doubts about him.
